Black Card Debt: Daddy's Little Thief (Omegaverse bl)
Chapter 242: Jagged edgesTaesan’s POV
My fingertips trace his back.
My mind is getting better at fucking with me, isn’t this equal to being under the influence of narcotics.
I’m telling...no, I’m compelling myself to believe he’s here with me.
Shin Seoha, that little deer has infiltrated my fucked mind. He’s stealing everything from me like the little thief he is.
Like fumes in a locked room...he has penetrated my senses and now he’s taking over my hallucinations.
My mom’s painful memories are gone, it’s replaced by Seoha and his impossibly strong softness.
He is a river, he is washing me clean, softly but surely breaking the jagged edge of my mountain.
"Fuck, I think I love Seoha" I say out loud. My body is still shaking with the aftermath of my sobs. I feel weak and strong at the same time.
Weak because I shouldn’t be locked in here, I should be out of here and hunting the motherfucker who thinks it’s okay to come for my mate.
Strong because I’m controlling my lack of control by conjuring images of Seoha. I would have broken the door and added ten dead bodies to my list.
My sword would be dripping endlessly...
I groan as the scream of one of my victims’ replays, and I dig my finger into the skin under my hand he hisses.
Fuck.
I think I’m not hallucinating and he’s really here...his smell, his warmth, his breathing, he’s really here.
My hands rest on his shoulders as I push him away from me, not too far, just enough to look into his face.
My mate is straddling me, his knees are bracketing my hips, his wide eyes roam my face and I whine softly.
"I can’t tell the difference between reality and hallucinations anymore, Seoha...I think I’m...mmgh"
He kisses me.
My omega’s small hand holds the back of my head, keeping me close as he kisses me. I keep my mouth shut at first...I don’t get it.
He tries for a few more seconds, and I don’t move still, my head is still up there.
"This is real, Taesan-ah" he says, pulling away from the kiss to look at me with those damn eyes.
He’s here. His weight is settled on my lap. His unsteady breath is hitting my face.
"I should cut my hands off" I say and he gasps, "don’t say scary things like that!" he exclaims, giving me a kitten punch on my shoulder.
"I hurt you...I choked you" I mutter, distracted by how his skin feels warm under my touch right now.
Why did I think I needed a cigarette when I had Seoha?
"But I’m okay, I knew what to expect when I came here" he says softly, hugging me again and resting his chin on my shoulder.
This omega is really stupid; how can he risk his life for me? I stopped in time because even if it’s a hallucination, I would hate to hurt Seoha.
I slowly lay back, so that my back is on the concrete and Seoha is lying on top of me.
"Let’s call Junho and let’s go home" Seoha says and I shake my head, shutting my eyes to focus on how he smells.
Vanilla, sweet, and soft.
"Not yet" I murmur.
"Why not?"
I want to stay with you. I want to keep my hands on you and make sure you’re okay.
"I’m unstable, I am only functioning for you, baby" I confess and he sighs softly, "I understand" he says.
"And I would hate for our daughter to see me this way" I add.
Sooin is my world.
She’s still a little child, but if she sees me as less than someone she can love...my heart won’t be able to take it.
"Do you want to talk about anything while we’re here?" Seoha asks and I shake my head.
I don’t like talking about anything. I keep it all in a box in my head, then I write it in my journal.
"Tell me about you, I want to know more" I tell him, hoping to take his mind off me.
The only person I told things was my mom and he’s gone now.
"I used to like sneaking into my mom’s bed" Seoha says, finally breaking the silence in the space.
"My mom...Minji-ssi didn’t like sleeping alone, but she never told me. So I would wake up in the night and sneak in" he chuckles.
"I used to be a very small child"
"You’re still small" I interrupt him and he huffs.
"I’m bigger than I was back then" he defends himself and I hear myself chuckle, amused at the way he said it.
"Tell me more" I whisper.
"Mom liked to bake a lot, and I used to sit next to her in the kitchen. She would play the guitar while the goods are in the oven"
"Did you learn how to bake from her?" I ask with curiosity.
"No, I burnt the house once and we had to sleep in the fire fighter’s apartment that night" Seoha says and I laugh.
I really fucking laugh.
I’ve never laughed when I’m in this state. If I did, it was because I found a target, not because I’m amused.
"Don’t laugh!" Seoha says, pushing his face into my neck and making me laugh even more.
"I won’t say anything else if you keep laughing" Seoha says. His voice is muffled from how hard he’s pressing his face into me, yet I can hear his pout.
"Sorry, sorry little deer. Go on and tell me more" my words come out as broken coughs from the laughter.
"No, it’s your turn to tell me something" he says, lifting his head to look at me.
"You know so much about me and I know nothing, I didn’t even know about your birthday or about your sister" he mumbles shyly.
He is acting comfortably these days. He jokes, laughs, and fights back...but he’s still my shy Seoha.
"Hmm" I hum, placing my hand on the back of his head, pulling him down.
"I like your weight on me. It’s important to me" I tell him and he relaxes. At his relaxation, his scent flares, releasing our baby’s milky scent too.
He has no idea how much his weight grounds me.
I’m a captain, I am swallowed, chewed up and spat back out by my storms. I am alone when the ship shakes and threatens to tip over, but he...he’s my anchor.
He’s not seen by anyone, he’s not appreciated by anyone, but he’s my anchor.
"I thought of my mom when I got locked up here" I start and he goes silent next to me.
"Your mom" he says.
"Haseul-ssi, my muse" I say, running my palm up his back. "He was my life, and he’s the reason I keep fighting"
"I wonder what he’ll think of me if he was alive" I say as my mind wanders.
Would I have even left my grandfather’s clutches? Would I have started Mountain Atelier? Would I have met Jaemin, and would he have given me Sooin?
"I think he’d love you the most" Seoha brings me back.
"It’s hard to believe that"
"I love you, I see you, I’m sure Haseul-ssi would love you even more than I do" the sweet omega says.
"Tell me something else" he whispers, egging me on.
"My noona, Kang Taerin...she’s a secret child" I start, drawing a breath before continuing.
"My grandfather forced my mother into the marriage. His only duty was to provide an heir" I run my palm down his back.
"My mother gave birth to my noona, but they had to hide her existence or else grandfather would have killed her"
"Having a girl as the first child is an embarrassment to him" I pause to laugh.
"You didn’t feel that way about Sooin when she was born...did you?"
"No, Sooin tilted my world back then. I didn’t know what to do, but for some reason, I fell in love with her even before she came" I wear a fond smile at the memory.
"She was my world...still is" I say and the omega purrs, clearly pleased with my response.
"My noona has been in hiding, she helps me. When I’m sent to kill...she helps me by saving the innocent while I deal with the others" I say.
"She sounds...amazing"
"Hmm...we rarely keep in touch, so I don’t implicate her, but she’s an important part of my life"
"Did you get along with her as kids?" Seoha asks in that soothing voice.
"We fought a lot, but I protected her with my life, and she comforted me with her life"
"I wish I can meet her"
My Noona is overseas now. She’s building a new place for the kids in a new place and she’s doing it all on her own.
And because she doesn’t exist to the government and to the world, she’s untraceable.
Thank you, mom, for saving my sister.
"Do you want to see her?" I ask and Seoha lifts himself to look at me, eyes doubling in size.
"Really?"
"We both need a break" I say.
