Unknown POV

I hated the thought of technology while growing up in my era, but now it’s my favorite tool.

Technology will take over from humans? My generation made a wrong assumption.

Technology is the reason humans are taking over each other. They become perfectly usable tools; they work well and are faithful without knowing it.

Social media is what they call it.

I especially like the applications that have those clueless ones who share their lives for people like me to use as bait.

This user shouldn’t be on my empty feed, but they are going viral, and they are giving me what I want.

It’s the video of a man with wide shoulders, his suit is getting drenched from the rain, but he doesn’t mind.

He goes down on his knees with the help of a walking stick, then he opens a green box for the other man in a black dress.

The video sharer says something in English, it has been a while since I heard that language, yet I understand clearly.

"Oh my god, he’s proposing!" the woman says happily, drawing more attention from passersby.

"That’s so cute!"

"Come look at this" another person says, and the camera zooms in.

The zoom gives me a better look at the couple, and my lips curl as I see the person I’ve been looking for since I rose up from the grave.

Shin Seoha.

He looks happy, radiant...pregnant?

My eyelid twitches and I zoom in on his stomach in the video. He’s pregnant for that pig? That devil?

"Why didn’t you tell me?" I ask my tied guest.

His eyes are swollen shut; they are an ugly purple color, and it’s only the kind effect of my discipline on him.

"Tell you what?" Hanbin asks, head lolling to the side. He’s forcing himself to hang on and stay wake.

"Why is your younger brother pregnant?" I roar in his face, disgusted by the thought of Seoha having sex with that dirty creature.

"TELL ME WHY?" I shout, and Hanbin is startled even though he does a good job at not showing it.

"Seoha is his own person, get lost and return to whatever grave you came out of" Hanbin spits on my face.

He’s brave.

Bravely stupid.

I grab his head and force his head back. He hisses in pain but doesn’t make any other noise.

"Your mother will pay" I tell him and he tries to get out of the chair, fighting against the rope like he can break free and harm me.

"YOUR MOTHER WILL PAY" I shout in his face, making sure he’s hearing me. It’s not because I like to be loud, but because I will do what I have said.

I will not hesitate to break him.

"Stop it...stay away from her" he shouts, moving his head around and trying to fight against me.

"You have no idea what I’m doing" I tell him, letting go of his head and walking to the other side of the room.

I don’t want to watch this video anymore. It’s irritating. Every part of it is disgusting.

"You couldn’t protect your brother, why should I let you protect your mother?" I ask, picking a knife from the table.

"Leave my brother and my mother alone, they don’t deserve to be hurt by you. Leave them alone, please...they have no idea what you are" Hanbin begs.

Ending the Ghost is nothing for me. After all, he is nothing but a casualty to me.

He’s the first step to my high mountain. The first step to my goals. I just need him to get me to Seoha.

Then he would be completely useless.

"Hanbin, I will make you regret everything" I whisper to him, stabbing the knife into the apple on my table.

"I will make you regret rejecting every offer, I will make you watch Seoha crawl into my arms" I tell him as I lift the apple and take a bite.

I’m agitated at the way nothing is going in the direction I anticipated. My skin feels hot, my head feels even hotter.

"Arghh" I shout at the ceiling while Hanbin begs for his mother’s life.

"Give me what I want, just give me any information on Seoha, and I will let your mother be" I tell him with the desperation inside of me.

"He’s pregnant" Hanbin tells me the same thing I just found out and I freeze.

Does this boy think I’m a joke? Has he forgotten what I’m capable of and who I am?

"Oh Hanbin, you’re going to pay" I tell him, laughing happily at the defiance he’s putting as I dial my righthand man’s number.

"Yes, sir?" he responds immediately.

"Do you have your eyes on that woman? The mother of Hanbin?" I ask and he responds with a strong yes sir.

"Kill her"

"Sir?" my righthand man asks.

"Stop it, I’m begging you! I don’t know anything about Seoha, I keep my distance from him to keep him safe!" Hanbin starts to confess but it’s too late.

"You will live with the guilt of your mother’s dead, won’t you, Hanbin-ah?" I ask him, talking in the tone and mannerism of a normal middle-aged citizen.

"Please...she’s innocent" he says and I sigh.

"Kill her" I order and they shoot the woman. I hear the cry of help and the sound of the gunshot.

"She’s dead sir" they give me feedback, and I smile at Hanbin with satisfaction and pride.

The useless boy doesn’t need to be given all the details, he already knows I killed his mother, and is already crying bitterly.

"Too bad...your mother is now with the saint"

"YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS" he cries out painfully, mucus stream from his nose and tears stream from his eyes, and his body is shaking with his sobs.

"I didn’t kill your mother...Hanbin, you did" I throw my half-eaten apple into the trash can.

Hanbin’s wail is loud and pitiful enough that I almost want to wake his mother from the dead.

Too bad.

I end the call with my righthand man, planning what I want to do next.

Letting hell lose is next on my agenda. I will shake the Kang empire from the inside. I’ll force Taesan to come back home with Seoha and then I’ll make Seoha mine.

Mine again.
