[=STREAM CHAT=]

[CeaserSalad: Did he just call himself a hacker?]

[Irky: Who does that guy think he is? There are no hacks available for the Black Online. Who is this moron?!]

[GrenadeHolder: Either way, his strength is insane...]

The chat was moving faster than the eye could see. It was really engaged. They all thought that James was full of shit.

However.

At the back of their minds, they all had the same thought: What if James from Reality First was actually a hacker?

"Kekeke..."

James laughed.

In that moment, he saw players running over from the bridge with grave expressions on their faces.

They couldn’t stop running because if they did, they would die either way, and the finishing line was so close.

All they had to do was somehow get through James.

"You’re all nothing but slaves of this game. I will free all of you."

James said with a smug grin, and then he pointed his finger pistols at the running players and pulled the triggers.

"Finger Pistols!"

The players gritted their teeth and unsheathed their weapons, and they were all strong in their own right.

Most of them knew about the Five Pillars of Power, and they were even using Read to calculate the trajectory of the bullet.

However.

Suddenly, the players stopped as a bullet wound appeared between their brows, and they all took one more step before collapsing to the ground.

"Hahahahaha!"

James was having fun.

"How dare you ruin this great event? Die!"

Out of nowhere, a player jumped out from a nearby alleyway with a heavy two-handed axe in hand.

He brought it upon the unsuspecting party, swinging it with all his might.

"Ah, where did you come from?"

James looked at him and put his hand in the way, and with his bare hand, he stopped the axe in its tracks!

"What?!"

The axe-wielding player looked shocked.

"Kekekeke!"

James swung his right fist and punched a hole in the axe-wielding player’s chest with one clean blow.

The player fell to his knees, and he desperately grabbed into James’ jacket, looking into his eyes with a pained gaze.

"W-who... the hell... are you...?"

"I already told you all. I am James."

James said with a smirk, and then the player fell dead next to him, his crimson blood staining the ground.

...

Real World, a Black Online Company, the control room.

Click, clack~! Click~! Click~!

The sound of the keyboard tapping was constant. It was loud as hundreds of workers were typing at the same time.

"Why isn’t the ban system working?!"

Izan roared angrily.

Since James was attacking all those players in the middle of the Safe Zone, he should’ve been banned from the city immediately.

Yet.

He was still there.

"T-This guy has some kind of ban protection on him. He cannot be yeeted from the Safe Zone, and even his account cannot be banned from the game!"

One of the workers shouted.

"What does this mean?"

Izan asked with a frown.

"This guy might actually be a hacker. I took a look at his character, and it’s level 0, but he has all classes, every skill and spell in the game, and in his inventory, he even has weapons that no one should’ve unlocked yet!"

A person shouted.

"A hacker? In my game? That’s impossible."

Izan said, and then he suddenly grabbed one of his workers and tossed him out of the seat and sat down in his place.

He started furiously typing.

Yet.

No matter what he was doing, there was not a single thing that worked against James.

’This is a carefully planned attack. They intentionally attacked near the finishing line, where all the streamers and the main broadcast would be.

’Because the winner was about to be crowned. They wanted the biggest potential audience for their grand entrance.’

Izan thought with an ugly look.

"It’s not just this James guy. Look, there’s more!"

One of the employees put up a screen to show at the main screen, and it showed close to a hundred of these cloaked individuals.

"I took a look at them, and they all also are level 0. These are also hackers just like James. They’ve somehow broken past our anti-cheat system!"

"We’ve spent over a billion to make sure our anti-cheat is impossible to be broken past... How could this be possible?"

Izan felt a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.

The employees stopped typing on the keyboards. There was nothing they could do. They felt hopeless.

They turned to their boss, Izan, hoping that he had an answer to this dilemma, like he always had.

"What do we know about this Reality First group?"

Izan asked.

An employee of his quickly went to the internet and typed "Reality First," and it took him to a website.

"It looks like the Reality First is an anti-virtual group that seeks the abolishment of all virtual reality-related things.

"They believe that the real world will become extinct in the near future and that people would rather live in the virtual world instead.

"They’ve done some hacking attacks against us in the past, but that went nowhere, as it was just minor attacks.

"It looks like they’ve stepped up their game!"

Izan looked at the screen and watched as James and the other hackers caused destruction in the city.

They weren’t only going after players.

Even the innocent locals. They spared nobody.

"Take every piece of information you can get from their characters, and hopefully we can trace the code of their game cards.

"For starters, we must create an anti-cheat patch for these cheats in particular so they cannot make more of these game cards and spread them further.

"A hundred of them is a lot, but it could be a thousand more, so this is a priority number one to do as soon as possible!"

Izan shouted.

Everyone immediately got to work.

"Also arrange a press conference. I must inform the public about what we know. We will be receiving a lot of shit from the players from this.

"Take the note of the players that these hackers killed, and save their accounts. We’ll give those accounts back to them."

Izan said.

"Uhm... there is a problem with that. It seems that when the hackers killed those players, all of that account information was erased! It must be another hack of theirs!"

An employee said with a pale face.

"They didn’t only kill them but also erased those accounts entirely? How ruthless of them. It means that they are not here to only troll but to make genuine damage to the game.

"They’re trying to destroy the Black Online."

Izan said with a cold look.

"W-What will we do?"

An employee asked.

"For those who lost their accounts because of these hackers, give them money as compensation that will cover the cost of their current game card and the future one.

"Also, we should still have some information about their accounts, like how many gold coins they had at the time of their death.

"Give them money equivalent to the amount of gold coins they had lost."

Izan said.

"Yes, boss!"

It was really busy in the room, but not only in there; every floor of the Black Online Company was bustling with activity.

They were all trying to fix the problem.

However.

Izan knew there wasn’t much they could do about those hackers if they couldn’t ban them from the system.

’What to do. The Reality First group wants to destroy the game, so I believe they will keep hunting down the players until everyone has stopped playing the game.

’They need to be exterminated.’

Izan thought with a cold look.

...

Fang Family Mansion, inside Aizen’s study.

"...Unbelievable scenes are coming from the finishing line of the Race. It looks like the Black Online is suffering its first-ever hacker attack!"

A news reporter said on the television that was replaying the scenes of James and his hacker group killing everyone.

Aizen looked at the television with a scoff, and then he grabbed the TV remote and closed the television.

’By now, the Black Online Company has already informed the police, and the face of James will be plastered all over the news by tomorrow morning.

’I am sure the police are already on the way to arrest James and his accomplices, but we already expected this to happen.

’That’s why, about a few weeks ago, I used my connections to relocate James and the Reality First group so they wouldn’t be found by anyone.

’As soon as they have used their usefulness, I will make sure they won’t have a chance to sabotage Rain Online.

’I will end their lives.’

Aizen thought with a smile.

Everything had gone perfectly according to his plan, but it was just the start, as he believed that the Black Online Company was underestimating the threat of the Reality First.

It was just the beginning.

Soon enough, the Black Online game was going to be unplayable.

"Hahaha... Cough..."

As Aizen laughed, he suddenly coughed, and as he looked at his desk, there was blood that came from the cough.

’My time is running out, it looks like. I might not even live to see the day of Rain Online’s release.’

Aizen thought, and then he took some paper and wiped the blood off his desk and tossed the paper into the trash can.

’No matter. What I am doing now will ensure the prosperity of this family. Fang Family will thrive for years to come!’
