Chapter 322: Succubus vs. Hacker

40th floor, the Dungeon Floor.

Clang~! Clang~! Clang~!

"Argh!"

"Ugh!"

"Damn it!"

Bleeding players staggered back with a limp.

Blood dripped from their wounds onto the cold dungeon floor, and their weapons were on the verge of breaking apart.

"This is really bad..."

"How unlucky are we..."

The players thought with dark expressions.

In front of them, a cold-looking Hacker stood with an emotionless expression, as if the person couldn’t feel any emotions.

They had just entered the 40th floor, which was also known as the Dungeon Floor, as the whole floor was just one big dungeon.

There was no outside. It was just the inside of the dungeon. And this dungeon was immensely massive.

It had few Safe Zones scattered here and there, but the rest of the floor was filled with dangerous creatures and traps at every turn.

It was one of the most dangerous floors just because there were so many dangerous creatures.

They thought that the creatures of the towers were the thing they had to be most wary of, but they were wrong.

It was this hacker after all!

’The two of our comrades had died.’

Hacker Jack thought with a frown, and he looked towards the ceiling of the dungeon, where there were two Tower Announcements just now.

The first one was of Leon, and the second was Hermes.

After those tower announcements came, these players had a sudden boost of confidence that they could beat him.

However.

That confidence died soon after once Hacker Jack showed a glimpse of his true power.

’Paul and Laura were among the weakest, but they still had the same hacks as we do, and yet, they died.

’I didn’t think there could be players capable of killing even the weakest of us, but I guess I was wrong. I must meet with James soon.’

Hacker Jack thought.

Unlike Paul and Laura, Jack was an original member of the Reality First, and he was also in the possession of one of the Twelve Mythic Weapons.

His Mythic Weapon—Sinkiller—was a grimoire of immense power that could manipulate reality itself.

"Die, you bastard!"

Out of nowhere, a player jumped from Jack’s blindspot with a dagger in hand, going for his head!

He was an Assassin and he’d been hiding all this time for a perfect moment to strike when Jack was distracted.

"Gooo!"

The other players cheered him on.

"Hmph."

Jack pulled out the Sinkiller grimoire, and then that dagger of an Assassin turned into eatable candy.

The candy dagger hit Jack, but it made zero damage, as it wasn’t sharp and deadly anymore but harmless and sweet.

"What a poor Assassin, you are. Why scream when you’re about to attack? You need to learn to keep your mouth shut."

Jack said coldly.

Then, the Sinkiller flipped through a page, and he made another reality change, and it was immediately felt by the players.

"Ugh!"

"Ahh!"

The players clutched their throats, and they started wheezing and coughing as something happened to the air.

They dropped to their knees and saw their health began dropping drastically.

’T-The air is...’

"I turned air poisonous. I am, of course, immune to it as I have Perfect Poison Immunity as an Innate Skill. You guys, on the other hand, will die in a couple of seconds."

Jack said.

The players struggled to breath, their chests tightening as the poisonous air filled their lungs, and it was one of the worst things any of them had ever experienced.

It was another thing to die by the sword, as it just gave a numb feeling, but this was something far more dark.

They literally couldn’t breathe, so it was extremely uncomfortable and, honestly, very terrifying to experience.

It was almost like they were actually dying.

In that moment.

The players health dropped to zero, and they stopped moving on the ground with fresh tears still lingering in their eyes.

’I am dead... Seriously... this... sucks...’

The leader of the players thought as his vision faded to darkness, and he could feel himself floating in the black void.

He was just waiting for the "You’re Dead" message to appear that always came whenever a player died.

This was his second death.

His first death came when he was just a newbie and died during the First Floor’s boss raid because he was completely unprepared.

However.

The message never came.

Instead...

A bright light suddenly flooded the dark void, and a soft-looking hand reached out from the light and grabbed his hand.

"You’re not dead yet."

A gentle voice echoed in his ears, and he was pulled into the light, and suddenly, he was back in the dungeon.

"Ah!"

The player sat up in a hurry, sweating and panting, trying to make sense of what just happened.

Then.

He saw that all of his friends, who just died with him, were also sitting back up like nothing had happened.

’Right, the poisonous air!’

He panicked but then noticed that the air was back to normal.

’Did the hacker bring us back to life?’

The player wondered, but when he looked over to Jack, he noticed his deeply confused expression.

Even he didn’t understand what the hell was going on!

"What is this..."

Jack asked with a frown.

"Heal..."

At that moment, a gentle voice spread across the dungeon, and all the wounds of the players were instantly healed.

They got back to their full health in an instant!

’What powerful healing magic. It takes me about half a minute of constant healing to recover someone’s full health, and that is just for one person.

’But that person’s Heal magic recovered all of us instantly!’

A player, whose class was Helper, thought in shock.

He could only wonder whose doing this was and looked around for the person, as did everybody else.

In that moment.

A girl appeared from the entrance of the dungeon, her face glowing with a warm smile. She had a really warm and welcoming presence.

She had short-cut hair and was wearing a green Helper’s robe that was adorned with golden trim.

"No way... It’s her."

The Helper’s eyes shone with excitement as he recognized her, and there wasn’t any Helper in the tower that wouldn’t recognize her.

After all, she was the greatest Helper in Black Online—Aria Rossie—also known as the Queen of the Helpers!

’She brought us back from death. There is no Helper alive that comes even close to her strength. She is an unrivaled existence!’

"What did you do to the poison air?"

Jack asked.

"I detoxified it."

Aria said with a smile.

’That shouldn’t be possible. I changed the reality. The air became poison. A person shouldn’t be capable of just ’detoxifying it’ like it is nothing.’

Jack thought with a frown.

"Thank you for saving us. If you don’t mind, can you give us a hand? With you healing us, I think we will have a chance of beating him."

The leader of the players said.

"Giggle~ That’s cute, but that’s alright. I’ll take care of the rest. You can relax and leave it all to me."

Aria said with a cute smile.

"Huh?"

The leader frowned.

She was just a Helper, and they weren’t known for their offensive strength, as they were definitely just a support class.

’I’ll just change the reality again. I’ll make it so that she cannot use her healing abilities.’

Jack thought, and he flipped through the pages of the Sinkiller, and then he found the spell he was looking for.

The page glowed.

"Hmm?"

Aria noticed something strange in her body.

"I blocked your Helper’s abilities. What now? You’re nothing but a cute girl in a Helper’s robe now."

Jack said coldly.

Swoosh~!

Aria suddenly moved, and she punched Jack in the face and sent him flying across the room with ferocious strength!

BOOM~!

Jack smashed into a wall, and blood gushed out of his mouth, and his nose was crushed like a tomato.

Sinkiller grimoire dropped to the ground.

Unlike normal grimoires of Mages, Sinkiller couldn’t be summoned. It was an actual object in the world.

Thus, since it wasn’t a creation of Jack’s magical ability, he always had to be in contact with the Sinkiller if he wanted to use its reality-manipulating abilities.

’What the hell... She punched me? A Helper...’

Jack thought, and he tried to stagger towards the Sinkiller, but then Aria suddenly appeared in front of him and punched him in the face.

CRASH!

Jack crashed back to the wall, and then Aria punched him in the chest, and his ribs cracked like those of a crumbling building.

Her physical strength was ridiculous!

"What kind of Helper uses her fists to fight, you brute?!"

Jack asked with a bleeding mouth.

Aria’s small fist hit him in the stomach. The wall behind him cracked. She punched again, and this time, the wall crumbled.

Jack got punched through the wall and landed on the ground in a heap.

"H-Heal!"

He screamed, and slowly, his health started to rise back again, but then, Aria stood over him with a dark expression.

She was no longer smiling.

She honestly looked scary.

In that moment, black horns protruded from her head, and her hair grew in length until her black hair reached the ground.

From her back, black-red wings unfurled slowly, casting a shadow over the room, and a red tail snaked out from behind her, flicking in the air menacingly.

"W-What are you..."

Jack asked with a scared look.

"I am a succubus."

Aria hissed, and then, her tail stabbed through Jack’s abdomen, and she sucked all of his health with her tail.

The health got transferred to her while his health got drained until it went all the way down to zero.

"No..."

Jack got dried-up, looking like a mummy that had been left to rot in the sun for too long, and then he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

The players looked scared. Aria looked like a demon now. Nowhere to be seen was the previous kind and gentle girl.

At that moment.

Aria’s transformation ended, and she returned back to her usual self, and she turned to look at the players.

The players were afraid of her.

But in that moment, Aria smiled warmly again, like previously, and her bright smile could light up even the darkest corners of the dungeon.

"Is everybody alright? Is anyone still hurt?"
