Chapter 152: Chapter 152: The New Mecha
Amelia stepped forward excitedly.
The exoskeleton mecha sensed her approach. Its locks suddenly opened, releasing a large amount of helium to regulate its temperature.
Amelia turned around and climbed inside. The exoskeleton automatically adjusted its size and instantly covered her entire body, leaving only her face exposed.
"It’s really comfortable inside!" Amelia said excitedly.
At that moment, the girls heard the noise coming from the platform and hurried over.
When they saw Amelia standing behind Kevin like an armored warrior, they all screamed in excitement.
Luna shouted, "That’s so cool! It’s an exoskeleton mecha!"
Raphael exclaimed, "Amelia looks just like a Valkyrie!"
Celula said, "I want one too!"
Kevin turned to look at Amelia and smiled.
"Try out its performance."
Amelia slightly bent her knees and leaped more than ten meters into the air.
The girls standing on the platform were completely stunned.
Then, three engines unfolded from Amelia’s back. Terrifying energy burst from them and sent her flying through the air.
Just as Kevin had said, the mecha could reach speeds comparable to a fighter jet while flying at low altitude.
However, the materials limited how long it could withstand the pressure that high-speed flight placed on Amelia’s body.
The armor itself also could not endure high-speed flight for very long.
Therefore, Amelia only made one round through the air before slowly landing.
Kevin stepped forward and removed her helmet. Seeing her flushed face and the veins bulging on her forehead, he asked with concern, "How was it?"
"Not bad! At least this mecha can stay with me for a long time." Amelia was breathing heavily, her eyes filled with uncontrollable excitement. "As long as I keep getting stronger, I’ll be able to unlock even more of its power."
Kevin smiled when he heard this.
"Don’t worry. That kind of high-speed gliding is only meant for escaping in an emergency. Try out the weapon system."
Amelia raised her arm and aimed at the distant sea.
Following Kevin’s instructions, she activated the "Greater Fireball Rune" on her right hand.
Suddenly, a crimson light flashed.
A terrifying magnetic field burst from Amelia’s right hand. Even Kevin, who was standing beside her, was forced back by the powerful force.
At the same time, a huge amount of energy gathered in Amelia’s palm. It continued to compress until it shrank to the size of a walnut. Only then did she release it.
Everyone watched as a red beam more than ten meters long shot into the sea. The laser instantly evaporated the seawater, leaving behind a crater nearly ten meters deep.
The surrounding seawater rushed into the crater, quickly filling the gap created by the intense heat.
Amelia was so frightened by the sight that she stood frozen.
She only came back to her senses when Kevin lowered her wrist.
"That attack was terrifying," Amelia said, still shaken.
Kevin smiled and explained, "That was the power of the Greater Fireball when you released it with all your strength. With your current condition, you can only use an attack like that once in a short period of time. So under normal circumstances, the "White Wolf’s Eye" will still be your main weapon."
Amelia nodded and immediately took off the mecha.
She wrapped her arms around Kevin’s neck and gave him a passionate kiss.
"[Affection +80]"
As he held Amelia in his arms, Kevin checked the Affection value above her head.
At that moment, Amelia’s Affection had reached 500 points, just like Luna’s.
"[Covenant Bearer: Amelia]"
"[Affection: 509 (Worship)]"
"[Covenant Rank: Silver]"
"[Reimbursement Rate: 60x. There is a chance of increasing the effects of Enchantment Runes.]"
"[Covenant Bearer Talent: A-Tier "Rune Master"]"
"[The bearer can inscribe Runes onto 10 items each day. Known Rune types: "Invisibility" (A-Tier), "Teleportation" (A-Tier), "Courage Blessing" (A-Tier), "Greater Fireball" (B-Tier), "Greater Purification" (B-Tier), and "Greater Exorcism" (B-Tier).]"
"[Talent Return: The bearer can enchant 600 items each day. The Enchantment effect has a 40% chance of increasing by 0.3x, a 30% chance of increasing by 0.5x, a 20% chance of increasing by 0.8x, and a 10% chance of increasing by 1.5x.]"
Kevin was extremely excited when he saw Amelia’s new Talent Return ability.
She could enchant 600 items every day, completely solving the problem of not having enough enchantments for Kevin’s team.
What was more, defensive Runes such as "Courage Blessing" could also receive an increase in power.
If the boost went beyond 1x, Survivors carrying those Runes would gain more than 100% resistance to negative status effects. This could mean the difference between life and death when facing powerful Eldritch Entities.
With that in mind, Kevin glanced at the mecha nearby and made up his mind.
He would enchant the mecha himself and make sure that every part received the full 1.5x boost.
That way, Amelia would become the team’s main source of firepower, completely prepared for any enemy ambush.
Even if they encountered Aaron, the Black Knight, or Draven, the Lone Wolf, Amelia’s mecha would provide her with enough protection.
"Next, it’s time to buy another batch of equipment from Lilith."
Kevin turned around, ready to see the girls off. However, he was met by a group of hopeful eyes.
Only after Kevin agreed to design armor that fit each of them perfectly did the girls leave the platform, satisfied.
Of course, Kevin had not forgotten about Toti in the cockpit. The old man had not come upstairs, but Kevin could already sense the electromagnetic waves coming from him.
As expected, it was impossible for a steel heart to hide its emotions. Whenever Toti became excited, his heartbeat roared like a motorcycle engine.
Kevin leaned over and tapped on the cockpit window.
"Stop making so much noise. I’ll install an electromagnetic cannon for you in the next couple of days."
Toti grinned when he heard this.
"Heh heh heh. This old man can wait. Build the girls’ mecha first."
Kevin rolled his eyes. Then he activated the "Eldritch Mall VIP Card" and walked into the VIP castle.
"My most honored big spender, you haven’t visited in a whole week."
Lilith greeted Kevin with a bright smile.
Kevin playfully tapped her on the nose and asked her to bring Anne to the room as well.
"Dear VIP customer, do you have a new deal to discuss with Anne?" Anne had her hair tied into two buns. She grabbed Kevin’s arm and shook it excitedly.
Kevin looked around the hall and frowned.
"Can you bring in a few taller chairs? Preferably ones about two meters high."
Lilith frowned when she heard this.
"Two-meter-tall chairs? Don’t tell me you want to try something new with the two of us."
She gave Kevin a wary look.
"Let me warn you. Even though we’ve already been intimate, if you came here expecting to sleep with us without offering anything in return, we won’t go easy on you."
Anne, standing beside her, also put on a fierce expression. Her little sharp teeth showed, making her look quite adorable.
Kevin sighed.
"Just do as I say. Otherwise, I’ll turn around and leave."
Lilith had no choice but to agree.
"You’d better have a big deal for us."
With that, she swayed her hips and left the hall.
Before long, Lilith pushed three chairs into the room. Each one was nearly three meters tall.
Kevin recognized their familiar design at once.
"Aren’t these lookout seats from a ship’s bridge? You even have things like this in the castle?"
Lilith rolled her eyes at him.
"Our Eldritch Mall also salvages sunken ships. Of course we keep the good chairs."
Kevin smiled.
"Then please, take your seats, ladies."
Lilith and Anne saw Kevin sit down on one of the tall captain’s chairs, so they climbed onto the other two.
"All right. Now tell us what kind of deal you want to make with us," Lilith said, watching Kevin warily.
If Kevin had not been several meters away from her, she might have thought he wanted to play some kind of high-altitude game with her.
Kevin smiled and raised his hand.
"Let’s first see what these items are worth."
As soon as he finished speaking, a flood of items suddenly appeared in the castle hall.
As far as the eye could see, they were all C-Tier items.
The items soon covered the entire floor. The pile continued to grow, rising from half a meter to nearly two meters high before finally stopping.
Lilith swung her long legs. With a flick of her high heel, she hooked a beautiful bone necklace out of the pile.
Each pendant was carved with a hideous, terrifying figure.
"They’re all C-Tier items!" Lilith’s lips trembled as she stared at the valuable items filling the hall.
Her heart was pounding so hard it felt as if it might leap out of her chest.
"Darling, are you planning to trade all of these today?"
Kevin nodded.
"Of course. There are nearly 400,000 C-Tier items here. At the usual one-to-nine exchange rate, they should be enough to trade for more than sixty SS-Tier items. I don’t need a discount, but I do want three complete equipment sets, sixteen weapons, ten Eldritch Artifacts, and ten Forbidden Items. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?"
Lilith and Anne exchanged a glance, both stunned.
Kevin sat comfortably in his chair and smoked a cigar while Lilith and Anne counted the items one by one like warehouse workers.
Even combined, they had never seen so many C-Tier items before.
When they finished counting, the total was even higher than expected: 416,000 C-Tier items.
As Kevin had requested, each SS-Tier equipment set contained eight pieces. Three sets made twenty-four pieces.
Adding the sixteen weapons, ten Eldritch Artifacts, and ten Forbidden Items, the total came to sixty items.
Based on their actual value, this was slightly less than the value of the C-Tier items Kevin had provided.
However, SS-Tier items were extremely rare and were practically impossible to buy, no matter how much money one offered.
To purchase a single SS-Tier item, buyers usually had to pay a premium of one to ten, or even one to eleven.
But Kevin was buying such a large number of items at once.
After doing the math, Lilith and Anne realized that they would make a huge profit by taking all of Kevin’s items, even at the normal one-to-nine exchange rate.
With that in mind, Lilith and Anne immediately stored all the C-Tier items in their storage spaces.
Then, they summoned sixty SS-Tier items in front of Kevin.
