Chapter 69: Chapter 61: Extremely High Drop Rate

"There’s no need to be discouraged. You’ve all done a great job."

Elder Wang offered a comforting smile. "It’s okay if you didn’t manage to get any breakthrough materials in the Secret Realm."

"In this Secret Realm, the top thirty players will receive a breakthrough material from the Jiang City officials."

"The top twenty and top ten will even receive exclusive, mysterious building rewards."

Hearing this, the flames of hope were rekindled in everyone’s eyes.

They all turned to look at a large screen nearby, where a leaderboard was displayed.

It detailed each player’s name, the number of waves they’d survived, their survival time, and more.

Based on this data, the players were ranked from 1 to 100.

"Holy shit, I’m 28th! That was a close call, I almost got knocked out of the top thirty!"

"Haha! I’m 25th! I’m getting a breakthrough material!"

"Thank the leaders of Jiang City! Thank the nation!"

Some players were ecstatic when they saw their rankings.

Meanwhile, those ranked outside the top thirty were filled with disappointment.

However, they quickly composed themselves. After all, just being able to enter the Foggy Void Realm was an opportunity in itself.

Many players had already acquired a good amount of resources during the first eight waves of the challenge.

They couldn’t do much about being less skilled; they would just have to work harder next time.

「Meanwhile, inside the Foggy Void Realm.」

After a grueling battle, the dozen or so remaining players had mostly finished the eighth wave.

Most of them were in a bad State, their Soldier Types having suffered heavy losses.

The area around Shen Xing was a complete mess, with countless monster corpses slowly dissipating in the firelight.

The Beastman and Half-Elf Squads sat on the ground resting, their bodies covered in claw marks and bloody gashes.

The three Lords themselves had also consumed a massive amount of Spiritual Power, their faces deathly pale.

"Hey guys, have a couple of these."

Qin Lang suddenly slung the black single-strap bag off his back, pulling out three walnut-sized, wrinkly fruits.

"Is that a Brain Fruit?" Shen Xing asked, startled. "I’ve already eaten the max of three. It won’t have any effect on me."

Xu Jiayi shook her head as well, indicating she had also eaten her maximum.

Qin Lang explained, "This isn’t for increasing your Attributes."

"I read on the forums that even though eating more Brain Fruits won’t increase your Spirit, it can restore a lot of Spiritual Power."

"We’ve used up too much. If we don’t recover, I’m afraid we won’t make it through the next wave."

Shen Xing and Xu Jiayi paused, realizing what Qin Lang was planning.

A Brain Fruit was worth tens of thousands of Gold Coins; using one just to restore Spiritual Power seemed a bit too extravagant.

But on second thought, the monster drop rates in the Foggy Void Realm were very high, and they had already acquired a good amount of resources.

If they could just hold out for one more wave, the rewards would absolutely make up for the cost of the Brain Fruits.

Neither of them refused. They took the Brain Fruits and popped them into their mouths.

As the fruit’s pulp went down their throats, a cool stream of air rose from their abdomens, rushing straight to the crowns of their heads.

Their groggy minds cleared in an instant.

"Phew..." Shen Xing shook his head, his eyes gradually clearing. "I have to admit, this Brain Fruit’s effect is amazing."

Xu Jiayi, however, glanced at Qin Lang’s black shoulder bag and asked quizzically, "Did you know we’d run into a situation like this? Is that why you came prepared?"

"Haha, not really."

Qin Lang laughed. "It’s just better to be safe than sorry. I was worried we might run into something unexpected during this Void Realm challenge, so I stocked up on some supplies."

"I also happened to get some Gold Coins out of my old man. Before I came, I stopped by the Player Association and bought some fruit, scrolls, and whatnot. Perfect timing to use them."

Before they could continue their conversation, the sound of heavy footsteps reached their ears again, as if some behemoth was rapidly approaching.

SQUELCH... SQUELCH...

Several tall silhouettes loomed in the thick fog as waves of a putrid stench washed over them.

"They’re here."

Shen Xing’s voice was low. The other two braced themselves as well.

As they watched, four or five grotesquely bloated monsters, their bodies seemingly stitched together from the organs of different animals, slowly stepped into the firelight.

"Abominations! There are so many of them!" Qin Lang cried out instinctively, his face draining of color.
