Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Oblivion

The colossal chalice mimicked a dying heartbeat.

Necrotic sludge spilled over its enormous brim, melting the sacred earth beneath it. Then, the true horror of the Unholy Man’s Grail activated.

From the mouth of the vessel, a suffocating vacuum of dark magic erupted.

Buzz!

It specifically targeted pure, divine life force.

The golden rivers flowing through the central continent instantly boiled and turned black. The ambient holy mana, which had nourished the Saint Lands for tens of thousands of years, was forcefully dragged into the sky. Rivers of golden light ripped themselves out of the ground and flowed upwards, pouring directly into the gaping maw of the demonic chalice.

Millions of surviving templars in the surrounding sectors screamed in pure agony. The divine blessings etched into their souls were violently ripped out. Their golden armor dulled into rusty iron. Their bodies withered away into dry husks as the Grail drank their cultivated faith and life spans. Entire cities of devoted worshippers collapsed into dust within seconds.

Up on the observation balcony of the emerald temple, the nine elite figures were completely paralyzed by the unfolding apocalypse.

Just the scale of the demonic spell was beyond anything recorded in their ancient texts.

Lady Mirielle crawled backward away from the railing. Her previous greed was entirely replaced by primal terror.

"We have to leave! The spatial locks are down! Call the Astral Gold fleet! We must evacuate the central continent!"

Sect Leader Zhao frantically tapped the communication runes on his wrist. His face turned completely pale as the runes shattered into grey ash.

"The fleet is gone. The dark energy field has completely paralyzed their engine cores. We are trapped."

High Cardinal Vael finally snapped out of his shock. His green robes flared with immense, desperate power. He refused to die cowering in the presence of mortal invaders.

"NO. Stand your ground! We are the absolute authorities of this realm! We will summon the will of the heavens! Channel your lifeforce into the grand avatar array!"

High Cardinal Zephyr and Cardinal Lucian immediately followed his command. They bit their thumbs, smearing their holy blood across their foreheads.

"%#@+!"/?@##@&*((!/’::/@..."

They chanted ancient incantations, sacrificing thousands of years of their cultivated lifespans to force a divine manifestation.

The emerald pillars of the grand temple began to glow with blinding intensity. Then, the corrupted red sky above them swirled violently as a massive eye of pure, storming sapphire opened in the heavens.

God Aris, the God of Wind, had finally sensed the catastrophic drain on his domain. He could not ignore the destruction of his primary mortal base..

Hummmmmm!

And thus, a titanic avatar composed of divine wind and lightning descended from the sapphire eye.

It held a massive halberd made of compressed hurricanes.

BOOOOOOOM!

Just the pressure of the descending avatar crushed the surrounding mountains into flat plains.

The surviving templars wept tears of joy, believing their supreme deity had arrived to save them.

The avatar of Aris swung its hurricane halberd directly at the Unholy Man’s Grail. The attack carried enough kinetic force to cleave an entire planet in half.

Back on the Imperial Flagship, Dark Empress Noir merely chuckled.

She raised her slender hand, her violet eyes glowing with malicious delight.

"Drink," Noir commanded softly.

The colossal obsidian chalice hummed with a terrifying frequency.

Just as the hurricane halberd struck the rim of the Grail, the weapon did not shatter the artifact. Instead, the Unholy Man’s Grail simply absorbed the kinetic impact.

The divine wind and lightning were instantly liquefied and sucked into the swirling abyss of the chalice.

The titanic avatar of Aris froze, completely stunned. It tried to pull back, but the suction force of the Grail latched onto the avatar’s arm. The divine manifestation began to unravel. Rivers of sapphire light were violently pulled out of the avatar, draining the god’s projected consciousness directly into the demonic vessel.

Inside the command bridge, Emperor Neo watched the chaotic struggle with a satisfied smirk. The holographic screens around his obsidian throne rapidly updated with a cascade of system notifications.

[ System Alert: Unholy Man’s Grail is actively consuming Divine Entity: Avatar of Aris. ]

[ Holy Mana conversion in progress. ]

[ Nether Force increased by 500,000. ]

[ Cosmic Force increased by 500,000. ]

[ Supreme Demon Magic proficiency increased. ]

Noir turned toward the throne, offering a graceful, theatrical bow.

"The appetizer is served, My Husband. The Grail has successfully rooted itself into their planetary faith network. It is currently draining the ambient authority of all four pantheon gods. Given another hour, the entire Saint Lands will be completely devoid of divine energy." Noir said with a wicked smile plastering on her lips.

Neo slowly stood up. His pitch black aura flared, matching the oppressive darkness of the Void Cannons.

"You have done flawlessly, my Empress. But an hour is far too long. The Watchers are likely rallying the upper dimensional armies as we speak. We need to break their spirits entirely before reinforcements arrive."

Commander Vaelar stepped forward, his eyes burning with absolute fanaticism.

"What are your orders, Emperor?" Vaelar asked.

Neo summoned a blade of pure Universal Synthesis into his right hand. The weapon hummed with a terrifying, absolute truth that rejected the laws of the universe.

Neo ordered,

"Prepare the royal drop pods. The Grail is doing an excellent job draining their environment, but I want to consume those arrogant High Cardinals with my own hands. I want to see the look on their faces when they realize their gods cannot save them."

Rumble!

Within moments, the belly of the Imperial Flagship opened.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzzz.

Hundreds of heavy, dark matter drop pods shot downward like falling meteors. They tore through the corrupted red sky, leaving trails of black smoke in their wake.

On the balcony of the emerald temple, High Cardinal Vael collapsed to his knees. He watched in absolute despair as the avatar of God Aris was completely digested by the demonic chalice. The connection to his supreme deity was violently severed, causing blood to pour from his eyes and mouth.

Before anyone could speak, a massive dark matter pod crashed directly into the center of the grand temple courtyard.

Ka-BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The impact shattered the holy marble and sent a shockwave that threw the Cardinals against the walls.

The heavy doors of the pod hissed open, releasing a cloud of freezing dark mist.

Step.

Final, Emperor Neo stepped out of the shadows.

Upin arriving, his gaze locked directly onto the trembling figures above.

High Cardinal Vael pushed himself up against the ruined balcony wall, coughing up mouthfuls of golden, divine blood. Beside him, Sect Leader Zhao and Lady Mirielle huddled together like frightened animals, their luxurious golden silk robes soaked in sweat and grime.

Neo said:

"So these are the elite ruling figures of the Saint Lands? The proud leaders who laugh at mortals and boast about shredding souls into dust?

But you all look pitifully small up close."

Lord Vane of the Golden Coalition gritted his teeth, his eyes bloodshot with pure, unadulterated madness. He refused to accept that his centuries of divine foundation meant nothing against a mortal upstart.

Summoning every last drop of his stellar force, Vane lunged forward from the balcony, his crystalline spear transforming into a streak of blinding cosmic lightning aimed directly at Neo’s throat.

"Die, you demonic monster!" Vane shrieked.

"CRACKLEEE! RUMBLEEE!"

Neo did not even blink. He just opened his left palm.

Buzzz!

Instantly, a miniature black hole of Universal Synthesis manifested instantly before his hand.

The crystalline spear, along with Vane’s cosmic lightning, struck the miniature void and dissolved in less than a nanosecond.

Before Vane could process the failure of his ultimate technique, pitch black tendrils shot out from the void and impaled his chest.

"A respectable amount of stellar energy. It’s a bit unrefined, but passable," Neo remarked lazily as the black tendrils violently decomposed Lord Vane’s physical body and divine soul.

[ System Alert: Target Consumed: Lord Vane. ]

[ Stellar Force Fragment Absorbed. ]

[ All Stats Increased by +5,000 ]

[ Cosmic Force increased by 150,000. ]

Lady Mirielle let out an ear-piercing scream as she watched Lord Vane turn into floating black particles that were absorbed directly into Neo’s core.

She threw herself onto the ground, banging her head against the marble.

"Mercy, Great Emperor!" she begged, tears ruining her face. "My Astral Gold land will give you everything! Billions of credits, secret realms, spatial mines! Spare my life and I will serve as your most loyal slave!"

High Cardinal Vael spat a wad of bloody phlegm toward her.

"Coward! Have you no pride? The Pantheon will never let this barbarian leave the Saint Lands alive! Lord Auren and Lord Ignisius will descend in their true divine forms to obliterate him!"

Neo smiled, his abyssal eyes flashing with genuine excitement.

He raised his hand, pointing his index finger at High Cardinal Vael.

"I certainly hope they descend. It would save me the trouble of tearing open the upper dimensions to hunt them down. As for your mercy, Lady Mirielle... my Zenith Empire has no use for trash that bends the knee to false gods."

NOW, DIE!"
