Chapter 72: Chapter 71: Exist.
While Caesar walking on the road, staring down at the ground, she recalled seeing everything she bought for her brothers destroyed on the ground which made her to scowl.
Moments later as Caesar was inside a small blue bus among the front seats with new items in a nylon, she was gazing outside the window.
While she was staring at the view, she spoke in her mind.
"Everything I previously got... Destroyed... And some of them were both latest and limited editions. Rai’s Sentry Prime comic books and Eyo’s jungle king toys.
The balloons and the others could be bought again but their favorites... Not so much.
I budgeted the money to spend for their return and now I’m very low on the cash. What I planned to be the perfect welcoming for them is now ruined all thanks to that incident."
"Damnit all." Caesar continued in her heart as she furrowed her brows.
The bus suddenly stopped and a couple of passengers got down from it.
While the passengers were leaving, Caesar and a few stayed in.
During the moment, a bald fair skinned man dressed in suit entered the bus and spoke.
"Mr Bennett! How are you doing?" The bald man asked the driver enthusiastically.
"Oh, I’m doing well, pastor Mac!" Mr Bennett answered, "In fact, I’m doing more than well. Because of you, my faith has gotten stronger."
"Oh, that’s good to hear." Pastor Mac said.
"You know what? Because you are here, let me raise the mood with a good ol gospel music." Mr Bennett said.
Mr Bennett then clicked on his playlist and the song played.
"Crack that ass! Crack-crack that ass!
She got a big booty!"
"Crack that ass! Crack-crack that ass!" The song continued playing as Caesar and a few others shifted their gaze towards the driver.
Pastor Mac on the other hand, raised both brows and remained silent.
The bus driver chuckled nervously and spoke.
"Wrong music! Wrong music! I could have sworn I deleted that!"
"Here... Let me play something better..." The driver continued as he clicked on his playlist again.
"She’s got a cow sized tits and I really want to suck on them! She’s got a cow sized tits and I really want to suck on them!" The song played.
"Big-big tits and I really wanna suck on them!" The song continued as Caesar’s mouth slightly hung open, "Her husband is in the way! I really wanna play!"
While the song continued, Caesar subtly glanced at the pastor whose face was now stoic.
Mr Bennett’s brow twitched and he chuckled nervously.
"Perhaps I forgot to delete that one as well." Mr Bennett said, "Let me... Uh.. Change it and put the right one...!"
Mr Bennett then clicked his playlist again and a new song played.
"I got bitches dancing all over me everyday! Sucking on my dick-Ugh! Licking on my balls-Ugh!"
"I got bitches-bitches, dancing on me everyday- Yeah! Sucking on my dick-wooh! Licking in my balls-yeah!" The song continued as several of the passengers gave an uncomfortable glance at each other.
"I got a twelve inch dick and it makes them bitches want to go craazy!" The song kept playing as Caesar let out a small nervous grin.
Caesar shifted her sight to pastor Mac who let out a frightening scowl with veins pulsing all over his bald head.
Mr Bennett on the other hand was sweating profusely before he gulped hard.
"Boy..." Caesar whispered as she returned her gaze to the bus window.
Later as Caesar was walking down the street again, looking at what else to buy, two human females spotted her and whispered among each other.
"Yeah. That’s her."
"Yeah, it is. The usurper."
"Crazy that we are seeing her in person."
"She’s actually pretty."
"Yeah. She is. Should we go talk to her?"
"I don’t know. She doesn’t seem like a friendly kind of person. I mean, we saw how she spoke in the Dazzle magazine interview."
"That was her getting some things out of her chest and yes, it was justified."
As the women were still discussing, Caesar turned her gaze to them momentarily and continued walking away.
In the course of her walking, she stared down at the items she had in her bag and saw how little they were compared to what she had before which made her frown.
Caesar then felt a familiar presence and perceived a strong scent, leading her to raise her head and see Damien Bane standing in front of her who was wearing a grey colored suit, black office top within, white tie, black shades and black shoes while having both hands in his pockets.
"Well, hello there. We meet again... Usurper." Damien said.
Caesar stared at Damien for a while before she spoke.
"Damien."
People stared at the duo in shock and astonishment as they had looked with each other and during that time, Damien let out a small smirk.
Time had passed and Caesar and Damien were sitting across each other in a restaurant.
As this happened, a fair skin beastfolk waitress walked in and placed dishes on their tables.
"Here you go." The waitress said, "Is there anything else you’d want me to do?"
"No." Damien answered.
"We’re good." Caesar replied the waitress.
The waitress bowed her head and turned her back to walk away.
Caesar observed how people were gazing outside the window before she shifted her sights back to Damien.
"Can we go somewhere really private? Like where no one is actually watching? I already have enough publicity in my life." Caesar said.
"Well get prepared for more because it’s going to get bigger." Damien replied, "Besides, this is private. Paid the owner for a private spot in the restaurant."
"And as you can see, no one is in this place except us..." Damien continued as he lit his cigar, "Well, if you not counting the guys watching from the window.
Besides, it’s not like they can hear what we are saying."
Caesar turned her sights to the people eagerly watching outside and turned it back to Damien.
"So, you said you wanted to talk. What was it you wanted to tell me?" Caesar asked.
"I just wanted to congratulate you." Damien answered as he placed his cigar in his mouth.
"Congratulate me?" Caesar asked.
"Yeah. And give you a few tips." Damien answered.
"Okay...?" Caesar said with an arched brow.
"First of all, congratulations on your victory over me." Damien said as he blew out smoke, "You gave me what I wanted and more."
"Thanks. But we both know why I won." Caesar said.
"It doesn’t matter why or how happened. All that matters is the end result." Damien replied, "Whether I didn’t take victory when it was laid at my feet or I was distracted by your manager, Akari, I still lost."
"I guess you could say that." Caesar said.
"Hmph. You’ve really grown." Damien said with a smirk, "Who would have thought the annoying kid I bothered helping five years ago would become this big."
"Five years ago?" Caesar asked in confusion.
"Five years ago when you were jumped by those stupid kids. If I remember correctly, you were carrying a padlock, wounded yet you still stood your ground and packed a lot of bodies." Damien said.
Caesar being stunned with the revelation, tilted her head down.
"You saved me?" Caesar whispered.
"Wait..." Caesar continued as she raised her head, "I remember when I asked the doctor who brought me to the hospital, they told me that the person chose for his identity to remain a secret.
Said something about me paying him back when I become an adult.
That was you, wasn’t it?"
"Yeah, and you did pay me back." Damien replied, "You showed me you still got it."
"Still got it?" Caesar asked.
"What I needed from you. The monster. The remorseless machine." Damien said, "You see that look in your eyes... The same you had when you fought off those idiots alone with the padlock, it’s still there.
That monster... You always had it in you. It wasn’t something you acquired, it was something you kept buried, but now the company and your circumstances just gave that side of you a place to exist."
Damien then placed the cigar in his mouth and blew out another smoke.
"I watched your interview. That was quite the statement you made there." Damien said, " You made a bold declaration on EBW. With the words you said there, you just made the marking on your back bigger.
So much for having enough publicity."
"But that’s good." Damien continued as he leaned back against his chair, "If anything, it has made you one of the biggest controversial figures the company has to offer and EBW thrives on that kind of shit.
However, I hope you know that you must be capable of backing up what you said there, otherwise you’d lose everything and become a laughingstock.
And believe me, that’s one of the last things you want to happen to you."
Damien puffed another smoke and continued speaking.
"In EBW, if you talk big then you better back em up otherwise it’s your teeth that goes. Many have made bold statements and learned the hard way how unforgiving the company can be.
The last guy that talked mad shit got his teeth pulled out with pliers."
Hearing those words, Caesar stiffened for a moment.
"Pulled out with pliers?" Caesar asked.
"Yeah. Got his ass beaten but that wasn’t enough. Decided to take his teeth too." Damien said.
"Were you the one who did it?" Caesar asked
Damien however stayed silent to Caesar’s question which ironically gave Caesar her answer.
"Of course." Caesar said.
"Just came to give you some tips, usurper." Damien said, "In this company, you’ll meet a lot of people. Users, foes.
Bigger threats and smarter ones."
"Know who you keep in your circle." Damien continued as he slightly tilted his head to the left, "In that ring, it’s every man for themselves. You know that, right? It’s a cut throat, business filled with the hungry and desperate.
If you are not ready to cross lines or even turn on your allies (if you managed to get some) then get prepared for them to turn on you.
Of course, you’ve already acknowledged that your situation is a no win type because no matter what you do or how you win, they will never accept your victory or performance, so that makes the line easier for you."
"One day we will meet again in the ring." Damien said as he placed his cigar in his mouth, "As rivals or maybe ’allies’ , but one thing is certain: by that time, you would have grown into one of the best and most dangerous faces the company has to offer."
"And I personally, can’t wait to see that." Damien continued as Caesar narrowed her eyes.
Damien raised his two fingers in the air and immediately , the beastfolk waitress came in and gave Damien the bill.
"Hmmm." Damien said.
Damien gave her his card and placed his gaze back at Caesar.
"For two." Damien said to the waitress.
The woman took the card and placed it in her hand held machine.
"Sir, your pin." The waitress said.
Damien took the machine, typed his pin and gave it back to the waitress.
Once the waitress was done, she gave Damien back his card.
Damien stood on his feet and adjusted his suit.
"Alright, then. See you next time." Damien said to Caesar.
Before Damien could leave, Caesar spoke.
"Damien."
Damien halted and glanced at her.
"Thanks. Thanks for saving me five years ago." Caesar said as she locked her sight on him.
"Hmph." Damien said in response.
Damien then continued walking and left the room.
After he had left, Caesar stared down at her knuckles for a time and sighed.
