“Oye, what are you lost in,” Lorn called out to Dyke, seeing him lost in thought longer than he should be.

“Huh?”

“Forgive me, my lord. After reflecting on words, I realized how tunneled vision I was despite mastering Soul Craft and exploring the VR-Universe. It’s so simple but I never thought of it like that. It’s like discovering a new world,” Dyke said excitedly as reached the conclusion that he shouldn’t be restricting himself to the Card Power System.

There were so many power systems out there, like his clients from the hidden clans, sects, and families. Some of those clients might sell their family for an SSS-rank card spirit, let alone their world’s core power systems, techniques, and methods they bought with them when they came to the Card World.

“Are you sure you didn’t smoke something?” Lorn asked Dyke, unable to understand what profound did their Ruler say to Dyke for him to react like that. She was there from beginning to end, she wondered if they heard the same thing.

“Your Highness, as a newbie, I know it’s not my place but with your permission I would like to suggest something…” Seeing me nod, Dyke continued with a pause. “… Your Highness, I believe we should invite the hidden clans, families, and sects into the New Empire. They will become an incredible addition to our great nation.”

Dyke’s eyes shone so bright with enthusiasm and new found patriotism that Lorn had to use her hand to stop glare and look at him, remarking, “Woah, slow down newbie. What makes you think that they will join us when they haven’t joined the Five Regions over several millennia?”

“I can get them too. As you know my relationship with Five Regions and its nobles is a bit strained, most of the clients are from the secret clans, families, and sects who didn’t think my talent alone was enough to risk diluting their bloodline to recruit me. Also, don’t compare New Empire and Five Regions, they are completely different. And you have no idea how many people are actually rooting for the New Empire,” Dyke explained, dismissing Lorn’s measly objection. “Besides, they didn’t join Five Regions because they knew they would be looked down on for being different. So instead they took the Five Regions had best to offer and closed off to rest of work relying on the Way Beyond for resources and survival. Today, they are big and strong enough to look down on those noble families.”

I ignored Lorn and Dyke’s squabble and began, “You are aiming for their inheritance, aren’t you?”

Lorn and Dyke were geniuses in their own right. One was a Martial genius with an incredible bloodline and other was Card Creation geniuses with incredibly high sensitivity to soul and soul energy that would make Chaos Dwarfs green with envy. The reason they never thought of exploring other power systems when they reached the ceiling of their native one was because they grew up in that system and another was fear of being labelled as Demon/Devil worshipper after all the demon power system, the only widely-known capable and complete power system. So, sticking to tradition became a necessity when they were fighting demon invasion and then the rebellion of demon worshippers. It was mostly the circumstances and lack of outside knowledge that limited their thoughts, unlike me who was an outsider and had access to the Infinity Library. To me they were all the same, I didn’t have stigma. Especially with Corey and Jaya. I only cared about what made me stronger, what helped me protect my loved ones.

“Yes, your highness. The masters already made them share their inheritance to get a place in the Card World. I don’t think they will mind doing the same to join the New Empire,” Dyke boasted with confidence. I knew that it wouldn’t be done as easy as said.

“You extend the invitation, but no need to demand that they have to share their inheritance to join the New Empire,” I permitted rejecting his desire for their inheritance. Instead, I mentally instructed to make a copy of various books on power systems from Infinity Library and add them to the merit list for appropriate merits.

Seeing Dyke didn’t argue with my decision, I smiled and said, “Check out the Merit list later tonight. You will find a list of inheritance and power systems that will compliment your existing active soul control power system. Redeem the one you like, don’t try to bite more than you can swallow.”

“Your Highness, I can earn merits too?” Dyke asked in astonishment. He thought he exchange the next hundred years of his like for the unranked grimoire and had no different than slave, but listening to the His Highness that didn’t seem to be the case.

“Though you have already been compensated in full for the next century of your life, as the employee of the New Empire, you are entitled to benefits like incentives and bonuses, you won’t be mistreated. If you go above and beyond to complete the task assigned to you, you will be compensated by reducing your employment term accordingly or you can choose merits instead. Also, you can earn extra merits in your free time by providing your services to help develop the New Empire for cheap or even free, like any regular citizen. However, the latter only applies if you are still considering being a citizen of the New Empire,” I explained indifferently.

Right now I was too big, like those MNCs back on Earth. Giving those privileges to Dyke didn’t cost me anything extra and also ensured that his time with the New Empire will be filled with good memories more than bad ones. I believed someone with Dyke’s potential wouldn’t be satisfied in the Card World. Just because he was a citizen of the New Empire didn’t mean I could boss him around. Yes, there would be traditional etiquette but not authoritarianism. He chose to join one of the organizations after his employment period was over.
