The bleak, gray Void was utterly desolate.
Ye Tianling gazed at the back of the woman in the red gauze skirt, his heart a tangle of complicated emotions.
He took a deep breath to steady himself and walked forward, one step at a time.
The environment in this part of the Void was like the dark Chaos, hazy in all directions.
Only this Cold Pool was incomparably clear in Ye Tianling’s eyes.
Ye Tianling felt no pressure or resistance, but as he gradually neared the altar above the Cold Pool, he sensed waves of powerful vitality.
This Vitality Power seemed to flow from the Blood-Colored Crystal Coffin, pervading the space above the Cold Pool.
Ye Tianling wasn’t breathing, yet this vital aura still surged madly into his body.
Within Ye Tianling, his once-depleted bloodline was inexplicably filled with new vitality, like Withered Wood Welcoming Spring.
And on the desolate Cold Pool, vibrant green vines began to grow.
Like duckweed, they began to grow with incredible speed.
Soon, the entire Cold Pool was covered in large swaths of green duckweed. Twisted vines gradually sprouted from them, and on these vines, the stems and leaves took the form of tiny, lifelike Cultivators, each no bigger than an ant.
They grew upon the roots of the duckweed, so lifelike that their various movements and expressions were like projections of the Cultivators who had been kowtowing and crawling before finally entering the palace.
The scene was incredibly bizarre and sinister, but Ye Tianling paid it little mind and continued forward.
The duckweed grew even more, forming huge, umbrella-like pads resembling lotus leaves that extended high into the Void above the pool’s surface.
Beneath Ye Tianling’s feet, the duckweed gradually formed a path.
Ye Tianling hadn’t been expending any Energy while walking on air, but treading on the duckweed now felt even more comfortable and effortless.
It was as if the final obstacle had completely disappeared.
The path of duckweed extended all the way to the altar.
Inside the Blood-Colored Crystal Coffin on the altar, a blood-colored liquid gradually manifested.
This liquid pulsed with an unparalleled vital aura.
It was this aura that had filled the deathly still Cold Pool with lush vitality—making it obvious what the liquid was.
’Is this the Life Soul Spring? If so, where is the Elemental Magnetic Aurora?’
Ye Tianling was now certain that the liquid inside the Blood-Colored Crystal Coffin was the Life Soul Spring.
Ye Tianling gradually approached the altar, and his view became clearer the closer he got.
The back of the woman in the red gauze skirt also grew more distinct.
It was not the figure of a little girl, but that of a true, incomparably beautiful woman.
The woman did not turn around. The moment Ye Tianling stepped onto the altar, it suddenly took flight, soaring into the distance.
In the distant Void, an ancient metal gate appeared.
Beyond the metal gate was an expanse of Chaos, where nothing could be seen clearly.
As the altar carried him toward it, Ye Tianling did not retreat.
The woman didn’t speak, and neither did Ye Tianling.
He strained his eyes to see through the metal gate, but he couldn’t see a thing—there was still only Chaos inside.
Gradually, as the altar neared the metal gate, Ye Tianling could vaguely make out what looked like a vast, ancient Sword Tomb within.
At that moment, Ye Tianling’s mind instinctively jumped to the ’Celestial Dragon Sword Tomb’.
After taking in the blurry surroundings, Ye Tianling saw what appeared to be a figure standing quietly within that World.
The figure wasn’t large, almost indistinguishable from an ordinary person.
But upon seeing this person, Ye Tianling felt an unparalleled and imposing aura.
The aura was terrifying, as if the person could destroy Heaven and Earth the moment they unleashed their full might.
The figure traveled through the Void of that mystical World before coming to a stop.
Finally, he stood in the gateway of the metal door.
Ye Tianling finally saw the figure’s face clearly.
It was a man in black sword robes. He looked very young, but his aura was transcendent—bewitchingly demonic and aloof, like a peerless Divine Spirit looking down on all living things with indifference.
That terrifying aura and peerless bearing sent a chill down Ye Tianling’s spine.
Ye Tianling had met Feng Chaoge, Ji Kun, and other peerless beings, but none of them were as terrifying as this man.
Ye Tianling was inwardly shocked. ’What kind of places are the Ten Thousand Beasts Demon Cave, the Ten Thousand Beasts Ridge, and the Celestial Dragon Sword Tomb? How could such a peerless being exist here?’
Ye Tianling reined in his Soul Talent, but he could still sense the worshipful atmosphere emanating from the Ten Thousand Beasts Demon Cave.
The Dao Principle Radiance filling Heaven and Earth, the echoes of the Great Dao, the countless duckweed pads, and the lifelike Cultivator-shaped leaves and stems upon them—all were kowtowing in worship.
Even Ye Tianling struggled to resist the influence. If not for the terrifying fluctuations of Life Force from the altar, he feared he too would have been forced to his knees in worship.
’What race is he?’
Ye Tianling suddenly noticed that the man had twelve pairs of black, Transparent Wings on his back. If not for his Eye of Celestial Secret, he would have never even seen them.
’Black wings? The complete opposite of the white ones? Are they wings manifested from the Elemental Magnetic Aurora?’
The answer surfaced inexplicably in Ye Tianling’s mind.
His heart trembled. ’What in the world is this terrifying being?’
"Are you certain you wish to proceed with the Blood Sacrifice? This is your only chance. You must think it through," the man asked, his voice detached.
He spoke in the ancient language of Primordial Runes, his tone lilting like a song rather than a direct statement.
"I am certain," the woman in the red gauze skirt replied, her voice cold and indifferent.
"Good."
A hint of satisfaction flickered in the man’s eyes, and a faint smile graced his lips.
Immediately, a terrifying dark light began to radiate from his entire body.
It was a peerless form of the Elemental Magnetic Aurora.
As this light swept out in all directions, the World inside the metal gate became noticeably clearer.
It was then that Ye Tianling noticed desiccated corpses beginning to appear on the altar.
The Life Force of the Cultivator-forms on the duckweed began to drain away. They died tragically, turning into withered corpses. Then, the duckweed gathered them in beams of azure light, transporting the desiccated bodies to the altar.
The black light radiating from the man grew even more intense, a clear sign of his satisfaction.
Finally, his gaze swept around casually. When it fell upon Ye Tianling, a flicker of surprise appeared in his eyes.
"Hm?"
The man’s pupils contracted slightly.
A chill shot through Ye Tianling as a crushing pressure, promising death and Destruction, instantly washed over him.
’It’s over.’
Ye Tianling’s heart sank.
He didn’t know what about him had caught the black-winged man’s eye, but he knew one thing: his chances of survival were slim to none.
