Chapter 537 - 267: Many Enemies

After that person finished speaking, the four men fanned out to either side.

If they had only known each other for a few days, they might have been more cautious and considered whether to engage in such a fight. But they all knew one another and had even practiced coordinated tactics for taking down enemies.

And the hypothetical enemy they had trained against was much stronger than Yu Lie.

Besides, Yu Lie was a fanatical admirer of that person. Letting him join in would indeed get in their way, so it was better to knock him out of the running early.

Yu Lie saw them retreat to the four corners, forming a perfect encirclement around him. He showed no signs of tension, a mocking smile playing on his lips. With a flick of his finger, he sent the coin in his hand flying toward the opponent on his left.

The man didn’t move from his spot, simply swatting the coin away. However, the force behind it was powerful, holding his attention for a split second.

Seizing the opportunity, Yu Lie launched his attack, charging at the enemy directly in front of him.

But even with one man occupied, the two behind and to his left rushed forward in unison. They didn’t try to intercept him, instead fixing their gazes on his every move.

Yu Lie, however, acted as if he hadn’t seen them. He threw a punch straight ahead. The man opposite him was clearly aggressive, showing no intention of defending against the incoming attack and throwing a punch of his own in response.

Yu Lie didn’t dodge at all. Instead, he accelerated, letting the fist smash into his head as he landed his own punch on the man’s chest.

In that exchange of blows, he shattered most of his opponent’s heart. The man collapsed on the spot, and while not dead, he was close enough, instantly losing all ability to fight. Meanwhile, a depression had formed on Yu Lie’s temple where he’d been hit.

Just then, with two sharp cracks, the other two fighters struck his arm and back simultaneously. His ribs and scapula fractured together.

He grinned, his face showing no pain, only a wild laugh. It was just as he’d expected; his opponents were still holding back, not using their full strength in that attack.

As the man in front of him fell, Yu Lie spun around and threw a kick at the opponent directly behind him. Seeing this, that man didn’t flinch, returning a kick of his own. The man to the left formed his fingers into a blade, stabbing toward Yu Lie’s ear.

The fourth man, the one delayed by the coin, now rushed in from the right, kicking at his ankle.

The three attacks landed almost simultaneously. The man facing Yu Lie took the kick to his face, his features caving in as he was sent flying.

Although Yu Lie was also struck in the chest, this time, the blow had little effect. It had been blocked by his concentrated Mutated Organization.

On the side of his head, the stabbing fingers only managed to penetrate partway into his ear canal before being clamped down tightly by the Mutated Organization within. Still, blood trickled out.

As for his ankle, a distinct cracking sound was heard, yet he remained standing firm.

The faces of the remaining two men changed. "You..."

They suddenly realized that with Yu Lie’s displayed Defensive abilities, he should have been able to withstand their blows, or at least not be so severely injured. But he had let them hit him. It was a clear ploy to lure them in for an attack, creating an opportunity to take them down quickly.

The move was insane.

But the results were undeniable. In the blink of an eye, two of them were down.

Yu Lie didn’t care what they thought. He had no intention of stopping, immediately charging toward the next man—the one directly in front of him.

This man didn’t panic at the sudden turn of events, nor was he intimidated. He remained calm, raising both arms in a Capture stance. The other man attacked in support, stabbing a finger toward the injury on Yu Lie’s shoulder and back.

Yu Lie maintained his reckless, head-on approach, neither dodging nor evading. But just as he closed in, a cunning glint appeared in the eyes of the man before him. The hands that seemed poised to Capture him suddenly shifted from palms to fists. Simultaneously, the man at his side changed his stabbing motion, now aiming to grip his lower back and spine.

The change was brilliant. The two men had altered their attack patterns in coordination with each other. If Yu Lie didn’t react in time, he could be taken down in a single move, even if he was much stronger than them.

At that moment, Yu Lie stomped his foot, caving in a section of the floor. He accelerated forward, once again meeting a fist head-on. The punch smashed into his face, nearly collapsing one side of it, but he kept his crazed smile as he slammed his whole body into his opponent, wrapping his arms around him and suddenly spinning.

With that spin, he not only broke free from the fingers touching his spine but also angled his body into the rotation. Channeling the force, his spine moved like a dragon, and he focused the power in his forehead, delivering a headbutt to the man’s face. THUD! The man’s entire face caved in.

The last man’s heart skipped a beat. Instead of advancing, he retreated several steps.

Yu Lie released his arms, letting the man in his grasp collapse limply. He spat a mouthful of bloody foam, which contained several broken teeth, onto the floor and wiped his mouth with his hand.

It was a gruesome sight, but it was a necessary price to pay. Under normal circumstances, he would have had no chance of winning against the four of them combined.

Even if he had managed to take down one of them by a stroke of luck after showing his strength, the others could have simply scattered and fought him from a distance. He would have been unable to catch the rest of them on his own. Moreover, the training was about to begin. Once time was up, he wouldn’t be able to achieve his goal.

Now, with only one man left, things were much simpler.

At that moment, cracking sounds emanated from his body as his broken bones began to mend. Even the dent in his head was being pushed back out by his Mutated Organization, slowly healing.

The last man’s expression shifted several times before he finally said, "You win. I surrender."

"Now how can we have that?" Yu Lie looked at him mockingly. "You’re all such good friends. They’re all lying down, but you’re still standing. You’re not fitting in."

The man’s face darkened. With a flicker of his body, he began a swift retreat. He knew full well he was no match for Yu Lie alone. That being the case, there was no need to stay and take a pointless beating.

His line of retreat was carefully chosen—directly toward Chen Chuan’s position. He was clearly trying to use Chen Chuan as cover.

Chen Chuan hadn’t intended to intervene, but seeing the man’s movement, he took a seemingly casual half-step to the side just as the man was about to reach him.

This half-step, far from letting the man slip past him, actually cut off his escape route.

The man was startled and instinctively changed direction, but the brief delay was all Yu Lie needed to catch up. A hand reached out and landed on his shoulder.

At that moment, however, the man’s eyes sharpened. He reached up to grab Yu Lie’s hand, sinking his stance as he prepared to use a Capturing Force to subdue him directly.

But as his Power penetrated, it was dissipated by a stronger surge of Power from Yu Lie. Not only did he fail to secure the hold, but he was counter-controlled by the Power that flowed back into him.

The man was shocked. He had just discovered that Yu Lie was also skilled in Capture. From the earlier series of exchanges, he had assumed Yu Lie’s specialty was Scattering Hand, but by the time he realized his mistake, it was too late.

A wave of weakness washed over his body, and he fell to his knees on the spot.

Yu Lie slid his hands down the man’s shoulders, grabbed both of his arms, and twisted them inward. CRACK! CRACK! The bones snapped audibly. But he didn’t stop there. He reached forward, placing one hand on the man’s head and the other on his chin.

The man cried out in alarm, "Wait—"

CRACK! His neck snapped, and he fell limply to the ground.

Though his neck was broken, with the physique of a Third Limit Fighter, he definitely wouldn’t die as long as his head was still attached and there were no other major injuries. However, recovery would not be easy.

Yu Lie dusted off his hands and looked at the four men on the ground. It was true he hadn’t specified what would happen if they lost to him. But by crippling them, he ensured they would need several days to recover.

Naturally, the spots in the training class couldn’t be left empty. They would be filled by others, and it wouldn’t be so easy for these men to get back in.

After taking care of them, he looked up at Chen Chuan and said, "Oh, I almost forgot. There’s one more. Captain Chen, is it? I’ve heard of you."

"You heard what I said earlier, I’m sure. I believe only the true elite are worthy of studying under Teacher Chen. So, I’d like to see for myself, Captain Chen, if you live up to the rumors."

Chen Chuan looked at him and said, "Major Yu, in your current condition, do you still want to have a go with me?" Even if his injuries could heal quickly, it would still consume Essence Blood and stamina.

Yu Lie spread his hands. "It’s fine. This won’t affect my performance."

He grinned, and in that short time, his broken teeth had already grown back.

"I imagine we won’t be fighting for long, will we?"

Chen Chuan fully agreed with that point. "Major Yu, if you think you’re up for it, then let’s see what you’ve got."

Yu Lie let out a loud laugh. Without a moment’s hesitation, he strode forward, still covered in blood.

He had heard the rumors about Chen Chuan and knew he wouldn’t be an easy opponent. But the stronger the opponent, the more excited he became.

And he had absolute confidence in himself. He considered himself the most promising of the younger generation, without equal.

As he defeated more and more of his peers, his confidence grew unshakable, and his strength increased. Now, he had embarked on the path of Spiritual Cultivation, and that conviction was driving him forward.

While he craved a good opponent, that didn’t mean he fought without strategy. He hadn’t used any Spiritual Power in the previous fight; he had been saving it for Chen Chuan. And now, he was about to unleash it.

A faint light gleamed in his eyes. Before he even reached him, a brutal wave of Spiritual Power was already crashing toward Chen Chuan.
