Chapter 34: Chapter 34: An Abnormal Relationship
The handbag and the princess gift box arrived at the same time.
The gift box, originally worth about two thousand yuan, arrived with such incredible speed that the Prince awarded a bonus of ten thousand times its value. Just like the handbag, the total came to twenty million!
The manager of the main Disney distributor, who delivered it personally, nearly fainted from happiness on the spot.
The Prince didn’t even bat an eye.
"Th-thank you, thank you for your patronage! Th-th-this is the after-sales warranty card!" The general manager was so flustered he could barely speak clearly.
The Prince said nothing. Qin Tianxuan came out holding the gifts and said curtly, "We don’t need it. If it breaks, I’ll buy a new one."
He rushed to the small clinic with the gifts.
Inside, Han Qian Jun was already awake and in fairly good spirits.
Han Biwei was massaging her sore feet, her high heels cast aside, her pretty brows furrowed.
Qin Tianxuan put down the gifts, came over, and squatted down to slowly massage her feet.
"No, don’t do that. I’m fine."
"Don’t be polite, Miss Han. You worked so hard raising Niannian. I’ve always been incredibly grateful but never had a chance to repay you. Let me help you with this."
His large, warm hands were almost scorching to the touch.
Han Biwei’s body trembled. A wave of shyness was followed by an immense warmth.
No one had ever treated her so well.
Although she was born a young lady of a prominent family, she had been frail and sickly since childhood. Later, when her family would not accept her, she left in a huff and endured all sorts of hardships.
Over the years, Han Biwei had long shed her old high-society habits, living a simple life, but one devoid of care from others.
’Now, there is a man by my side, supporting me. Maybe Qin Tianxuan doesn’t have many capabilities right now, but he’s genuinely good to me and the child.’
’That’s more than enough.’
While massaging Weiwei’s feet, Qin Tianxuan asked about Uncle Han’s condition. Finally, he said, "Since your parents have been kicked out of the family home, let’s all just live together. I’ll find a bigger place."
"There’s no need. The apartment I’m renting is a one-story house. It’s quite spacious. I’ll take you to see it later."
Her father was fine, and she was completely free of the Han Family. Han Biwei was in an excellent mood.
Qin Tianxuan smiled, picked up the gift, and presented it to her with his own hands.
"Ah!" Han Biwei was even more touched. ’This man is so thoughtful. I’ve been using my own bag for over three years, and the inside is all torn.’
’This bag also suits my style—understated and practical.’
She thanked him several times and accepted it graciously. Then, she took a razor out of her worn-out bag. "Niannian and I picked this out for you. Look at that stubble of yours, it could probably poke through paper." She giggled as she spoke.
Qin Tianxuan rubbed his stubble and laughed as well. "I’ll take a shower when I get back. My daughter probably thinks I stink when I hold her, right?"
"Daddy, I don’t think you stink. You smell really nice." Niannian, now awake, came over holding a cup filled with simple black tea.
The family of three sat there, full of laughter and cheerful conversation.
Jiang Wan Jun, who was keeping Han Qian Jun company, saw this scene.
Han Qian Jun was immensely relieved. He nudged his wife with his elbow. "He’s genuinely good to our daughter. I can rest easy now, I really can."
Jiang Wan Jun, however, frowned slightly and whispered, "Something doesn’t seem right to me. They don’t act like a married couple. It’s more like two benefactors thanking each other. That’s not right."
A woman’s intuition is sharp, after all, and she had sensed it.
Han Qian Jun grunted in acknowledgment. "Then you should try to sound them out. Make sure they didn’t get a fake marriage just to deceive us."
Jiang Wan Jun nodded.
Meanwhile, Qin Tianxuan had already unwrapped the large toy gift set for Niannian—a Barbie doll, a dollhouse, and a toy makeup kit. Niannian was having the time of her life playing with them.
He got up and walked to the hospital bed, looking at Han Qian Jun with concern. "Uncle Han, we’ll head to Weiwei’s apartment later. What would you like to eat? I’ll cook tonight."
Han Qian Jun pointed to the chair beside him. "Sit down, my boy."
Qin Tianxuan didn’t sit, but remained standing respectfully to the side. "Also, about those gifts I sent... I wanted to ask your thoughts on them, Uncle Han."
Han Qian Jun shook his head, filled with emotion. "When I was young, all I thought about was proving myself. I wanted to make money, lots of it, to show those bastards in the Han Family what I was capable of. It’s different now. No amount of money or property can compare to a peaceful, stable family."
At this, he patted Qin Tianxuan’s shoulder. "As long as you’re good to my daughter and live a good life with Niannian, I don’t want a single penny!"
Qin Tianxuan smiled. "Then I’ll keep those assets in the Golden Sparrow Silver Alliance for you. If you or Auntie ever need them, you can withdraw them directly. It’s always good to be prepared."
Han Qian Jun then lowered his voice. "Weiwei doesn’t know your identity?"
Qin Tianxuan nodded.
Han Qian Jun grew thoughtful. "Is it really necessary to hide it from her?"
Qin Tianxuan looked awkward. "I’ve actually already resigned from my previous position. To be honest, I’m just an ordinary person now. I don’t want to show off with those things. Besides, I’m afraid of scaring Weiwei. She seems to be very resistant to that sort of thing."
Of course, Han Qian Jun understood. "My daughter... she’s seen too many rich and powerful people who are bad to the core, so she’s very sensitive about it. This way is fine too. Time reveals a person’s heart. Once you get to know each other better, you can slowly explain things to her then."
As they talked, Han Qian Jun’s topical medication was reapplied. By evening, the family left the clinic and went to the apartment Han Biwei was renting in the south of the city.
It was a small, one-story house with three rooms and even a small courtyard.
Qin Tianxuan was overjoyed. He couldn’t help but take Weiwei’s small hand in his. "This is wonderful. It’s just what I imagined."
In the courtyard stood a frost plum tree, its fragrance faint and elusive.
Qin Tianxuan held Han Biwei’s hand, and they stood before the frost plum tree, a moment of silence passing between them.
"Sister Shuanghua’s favorite flower was this kind," Han Biwei said softly. "Niannian and I searched for a very, very long time to find a little courtyard like this. I knew you would like it."
For a young woman to go to such lengths—so gentle, kind, and understanding.
Qin Tianxuan was deeply moved. He apologized in a low voice, "I’m sorry. I can’t give you happiness. If you’re willing, let’s consider ourselves brother and sister."
The one he could never forget was still his beloved wife, Shuanghua.
Han Biwei nodded very seriously. "Once things have settled down for Niannian and we’ve explained everything to her, I will be by your side until that day comes."
To find a kindred spirit in life is rare. With such a woman by his side, what more could a man ask for?
They held each other’s hands, a moment where silence spoke louder than words.
