Chapter 66: Chapter 66: This Lowly One Deserves Death
Everyone stood up, unable to believe their eyes.
’Is this motherfucker even human?’
’He can really do this?’
Twelve large porcelain bowls, filled to the brim!
Qin Tianxuan lifted the bowls one by one, calmly and unhurriedly drinking each one dry.
He turned over twelve bowls, and not a single drop of wine spilled out. This was a true Wine God, immune to a thousand cups!
The six toughs on the other side were completely dumbfounded.
The two who had been most boastful of their drinking prowess were looking at Qin Tianxuan with something akin to worship.
The crowd began to jeer. "Isn’t the Chen Family going to answer the challenge? He drank twelve bowls! Surely you, the hosts, have to drink at least two, right?"
Patriarch Chen’s face was ashen, his hands trembling.
He was torn. On one hand, he still didn’t know who had demolished his warehouse; on the other, he was utterly stunned by the scene before him.
"Drink!" Patriarch Chen snarled, grinding his teeth. "Get those bastards up there to drink! My Chen Family will not produce cowards!"
A man fights for his pride, just as a Buddha is worshipped with incense!
Everyone at this birthday banquet was a man of the world. What was there to fight for? Honor, of course, to be settled on the battlefield of booze. The first to fall was the loser!
The Chen family’s men were hauled up, and two large bowls of liquor were poured down each of their throats. An ambulance came and took them directly to the hospital.
Of the six remaining men, four collapsed. The only two who could hold their liquor ended up vomiting so hard they brought up last night’s dinner.
In the end, they too were hauled off to the hospital!
Qin Tianxuan, looking bored, flicked a large porcelain bowl into the air. "How uninteresting. I heard the Chen Family was a major clan in Wuzhou. How can it be that not a single one of you can drink?"
Patriarch Chen’s face turned crimson, but he couldn’t utter a single word.
The guests in the hall now all broke into applause for Qin Tianxuan.
They were truly impressed.
Han Qian Jun stood in the back, puffing his chest out with pride. "Fuck, my son-in-law is invincible! You Chen family motherfuckers really don’t know your own limits."
Jiang Wan Jun watched her son-in-law worriedly, but when she saw he was completely fine, she couldn’t help but feel overjoyed.
He had won back their honor in grand style. All the face they had lost was now restored.
Over on the other side, the birthday girl—the second aunt—had an ugly look on her face. She gave Patriarch Chen a sharp push. "Start the banquet! Do you want to be humiliated even further?"
Patriarch Chen swallowed his fury and had no choice but to come forward and welcome Han Qian Jun and Jiang Wan Jun to the head table.
He made an excuse, turned, and left the main hall. Patriarch Chen’s face went from red to a sickly pale, and his breathing became unsteady.
"Go! Get Er Gou and Da Hu! Bring all their guys! I... I’m so fucking pissed! If we can’t beat him fair and square, we’ll do it dirty! Let those gangsters go up there and take care of that Qin Tianxuan!"
Er Gou of Wuzhou, Da Hu of Wuzhou!
The two most notorious local thugs!
They were not to be underestimated. Rumor had it they had gone to the property management center in Su City proper, where they followed a northern boss named Lin Changhai and had become quite successful.
They happened to be back in town for a couple of days on business. After receiving the message, they immediately rushed over with a gang of their followers.
Without a word, Patriarch Chen handed each of them a fat red envelope.
"Don’t say anything. Use whatever tricks you have. I want that bastard with the surname Qin to be publicly humiliated, and that old scoundrel Han Qian Jun, too. They’re so damn smug they think they can walk all over us!"
Patriarch Chen roared.
Er Gou and Da Hu squeezed the thick red envelopes, grinning from ear to ear. "We were wondering what this was all about. So it’s just this! Lord Chen, don’t you worry. Just watch us work!"
Da Hu was especially arrogant. "Even back in Su City, we two are well-known toughs!"
Er Gou added with a vicious grin, "That’s right. And I won’t lie to you, Lord Chen, we’ve even shared a table with Old Yama himself!"
’Holy shit, for real?’
Even all the way out in Wuzhou District, Patriarch Chen had heard of the legendary Old Yan of South City, and he held the name in the highest regard.
"Thank you, my two brothers! Here, give them another red envelope!"
Take the money, do the job.
Er Gou and Da Hu, leading a gang of underlings, stormed into the banquet hall.
The faces of the guests blanched, and a terrified silence fell over the room.
It wasn’t just the rich; even a few local dignitaries felt a headache coming on.
Provoking thugs like these meant endless trouble. Even the Police Department was powerless against them.
Er Gou and Da Hu swaggered to a stop, scanning the crowd. "We heard a so-called Wine God showed up, one who can’t get drunk? Come on out and let us brothers have a look!"
Qin Tianxuan was with Jiang Wan Jun and Uncle Han. Hearing this, he arched an eyebrow. "Is this still not over? Wang Hou, deal with them immediately. I can’t be bothered."
Wang Hou, who had been standing in the back pouring tea and serving wine, brushed off his suit and strode forward gracefully.
Da Hu squinted. ’Hmm, this guy looks familiar.’ But his mouth ran foul. "Here to cause trouble on my turf in Wuzhou? Which blind motherfucker are you? This place is under our protection! Right, Er Gou?"
Er Gou, however, had started trembling the moment Wang Hou appeared.
His eyes were now wide and staring.
"Er Gou, what’s wrong with you?" Da Hu asked, puzzled.
Er Gou trembled, his legs barely holding him up. "B-b-big... Big Bro, look... is... is that... the Marquis?"
The Marquis?!
Da Hu shuddered. "Wh-which M-Marquis?"
"Big Bro! The Marquis from outside the warehouse, when we were working for Boss Lin!"
Da Hu’s mind went blank with a loud BUZZ, and a memory flashed vividly in his mind’s eye.
That day, they had followed Lin Changhai from the property management center on a job for Old Yama. In the end, at Warehouse No. 3... there was that elegant, princely young man... the bloodcurdling screams from inside the warehouse... and finally, Wang Hou walking out, his hands crimson with blood!
A warm wetness spread through Da Hu’s crotch. He’d pissed his pants.
Er Gou, however, dropped to his knees before Wang Hou with a THUD, kowtowing repeatedly.
Their followers were a useless bunch, and seeing this, they instinctively dropped to their knees as well. "We deserve to die! We deserve to die!"
