CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2616 - 2624: Whose Phone Call

Bright Sampson didn’t dare gamble on so many possibilities.

By comparison, another method seemed much simpler.

"Bright, think carefully, don’t act impulsively and do things without considering the consequences." James Black watched the serious expressions of the young siblings and reminded Bright Sampson, "What you do may very well turn into a mistake that ruins you."

After James Black finished speaking, the whole room fell silent.

The big truths have been spoken hundreds of times, and everyone understood internally. Bright Sampson wasn’t unclear or unable to grasp them; he was simply unable to get past the hurdle of being a son faced with a major issue concerning his father, knowing he has the ability to change things yet remaining indifferent.

Perhaps it’s because he grew up with Jane Sampson, as from the time he could remember, it was Jane Sampson who raised him, so in this regard, Bright Sampson’s character is very similar to Jane Sampson’s.

He values relationships, is soft-hearted, and is too kind.

Just as everyone was waiting for Bright Sampson to make a statement, Jane Sampson’s mobile phone suddenly rang.

"Whose call is it?" James Black saw Jane Sampson frowning and casually asked.

"I don’t know; it’s an international phone number." Jane Sampson answered as she picked up the call, and Bright Sampson had already yelled out, "Don’t answer it."

Jane Sampson glanced at Bright Sampson, hesitating whether to heed his advice and hang up, when the voice of Julie Sampson came through the phone.

"Jane, it’s me, I’m Julie Sampson."

Jane Sampson then put the phone to her ear, "Hmm, you changed your phone number?"

Bright Sampson’s previous phone number wasn’t this one; Jane Sampson has a good memory, and although she didn’t intentionally memorize it, she still knew Julie Sampson had changed her number.

"My ex-boyfriend was too annoying, so I changed it," Julie Sampson explained, then asked, "Is Bright Sampson with you now? I’ve been calling him, and he hasn’t answered."

"He’s with his lawyer at base, I’m there with James Black and them," Jane Sampson responded, "You’re looking for Bright Sampson? Is it about the twitter hot topics?"

"Yes, is he now worried about how to clear his father’s name? Is he still thinking about simply pretending his father is mentally ill and letting him stay at a sanatorium for a while to dodge the matter?" Julie Sampson chuckled coldly at this point, "Even though I’ve not spent as much time with Bright Sampson as you have, I can still guess a bit about his personality; Jane, you won’t be able to persuade him."

True siblings indeed understand Bright Sampson’s personality thoroughly.

"Jane, he’s not answering my call, can you put the phone on speaker? I have a few words to say to him," Julie Sampson said, "Sorry for the trouble."

The politeness of Julie Sampson still made Jane Sampson a bit uncomfortable, but she still followed Julie Sampson’s request, turned on the speakerphone, and placed it on the tabletop, "Alright, you can talk to him."

Julie Sampson on the other end of the phone started by calling out Bright Sampson, then directly asked him, "Why aren’t you answering my calls? What’s going on? Are you really planning to completely sever ties with me?"

"No," Bright Sampson quickly explained upon hearing, "I saw it was an unknown number, and I thought it might be a reporter changing to an overseas number to call since I wasn’t answering."

Bright Sampson dared not answer any calls from unknown numbers; picking up would result in the other party unceremoniously bombarding him with questions.

Some who had a slightly better attitude would use the word "Sir," a polite inquiry, or a "Hello," while those with a nasty attitude—the tone, the words—made it seem as if he, Bright Sampson, were the fraudster.
