"Never seen you in the kitchen at home." Bright Sampton replied quietly, "So I find it strange."
"There’s a nanny in the house, why should I do things I don’t like?" When Julie Sampton returned to the Sampton Family, she instantly acted like a pampered heiress who doesn’t lift a finger.
She adapted well, and even if someone offered to bathe her, she might not bother to lift a hand herself.
Old Master Black returned when Jane Sampson was preparing the last dish of green vegetables in the kitchen.
When she heard James Black calling her name from the living room, Jane Sampson was startled.
"Brother-in-law is back too." Bright Sampton gently nudged Jane Sampson’s shoulder, "He’s calling for you."
"I’m in the kitchen! It’ll be ready soon, so we can start dinner!" Jane Sampson finally replied, then placidly plated the green vegetables, calling Bright Sampton and Julie Sampson out of the kitchen for dinner.
"Why are you back too?" Jane Sampson asked James Black.
"After dinner, I’m taking you back to the base." James Black glanced at Jane Sampson’s expression, and seeing her eyes filled with smiles, he knew the three had gotten along well this afternoon.
"An evening apart feels like three autumns, my brother’s fear is yearning sickness from separation." Peter Gingery lazily walked in from outside, twirling the car key as he chimed in.
"Why are you back too?" Jane Sampson laughed, "You just flaunt your use of idioms."
"I came back to grab a meal, but I’m heading back to the base after we eat. It’s tough for me; playing chauffeur for you two, then grabbing a hard-earned meal." Peter Gingery actually came back for Jane Sampson’s cooking, tagging along with James Black.
After entering, Peter Gingery looked around and sighed, "My dad and mom aren’t home again? They’re busy all the time, never around when I actually come back. Can’t believe I can’t see them again."
"They happen to have a social engagement tonight." Old Master Black explained, "Now they’re starting to mind their health, so socializing has lessened, and even when your dad does, he hardly drinks any wine."
Running such a huge group, seeing them at home daily would be strange.
"Do you need something?" Old Master Black asked Peter Gingery, "Otherwise, why would you be looking for your dad and mom?"
Since Peter Gingery turned thirteen or fourteen, he wouldn’t look for his parents, knowing they were busy, but there were always others in the house, so Peter Gingery got used to it.
Suddenly coming home searching for someone surely meant he needed something.
"Recently, I’ve got my eye on a new car." Peter Gingery rubbed his nose tip, approaching Old Master Black with a playful grin, "Old Sir, interested in checking it out?"
"No, I’m not interested." Old Master Black quickly refused, knowing Peter Gingery must have business with his parents.
"I’m heartbroken, truly heartbroken." Peter Gingery clutched his chest, sat on a chair with his head down, and picked up the chopsticks, "I’m so upset I might not manage to eat."
"Then leave the table, drive back to the base, and maybe you’ll find some leftover rice." Old Master Black mercilessly shooed him away, "You don’t even try to find a girlfriend; buying so many cars with no girlfriend to take on drives, why buy another car? It’s lucky you weren’t left with just a bicycle."
"As if having a girlfriend would get me a car." Peter Gingery muttered.
"Exactly, you got it right; if you had a girlfriend, we’d buy you one, but sadly you don’t." Old Master Black said, grinning, repeating, "Sadly, you don’t."
