The Grand Elder of the Celestial Spirit Sect, however, was quite pleased. Perhaps the Celestial Spirit Sect had profited the most this time. The Sect had only lost four disciples of average talent, while the six with exceptional talent had survived. More importantly, a disciple like Shen Haoran had emerged, and they had even obtained a treasure from the Ten Thousand Treasures Pavilion. For the Celestial Spirit Sect, these were acceptable losses.

Meanwhile, the other Sects had suffered immense losses among their genius disciples, a blow that struck at their very foundation. This was especially true for the Fallen Valley: Shen Haoran had killed Ouyang Shaoyu, and their Grand Elder’s arms had been crippled. This was undoubtedly a massive blow to the Fallen Valley. Furthermore, the Wind Sword Sect and the Valley of Stunning Emotions had also sustained losses to varying degrees. With this turn of events, the Celestial Spirit Sect could very well overpower the other three and become the undisputed hegemon of the Northern Domain!

At this thought, a hint of joy surfaced on the Grand Elder’s face. He then beckoned to Shen Haoran and the others. "Let’s go. We’re returning to the Sect!" He could hardly wait to report this news to the Celestial Spirit Sect’s upper echelon.

Hearing this, Shen Haoran and the others nodded, following the Grand Elder onto the back of a Camel Beast and flying away from the Desert Ancient City.

Aboard the Camel Beast, Shen Haoran watched the Desert Ancient City gradually blur into the distance. He sighed softly and shook his head. ’This adventure is finally over.’

’Now that I have the Earth Spirit Profound Nether,’ Shen Haoran mused, ’it’ll be time to leave the Northern Domain once I get back to the Celestial Spirit Sect and use the Earth Spirit Pearl to heal the Third Elder.’ He had never planned on staying in the Northern Domain for long. He had only lingered for a few extra months because he’d suddenly gotten news about the Earth Spirit Profound Nether. ’The people at the Five Elements Sect must be worried sick by now.’

At that thought, Shen Haoran could just imagine the lecture he would get from Shui Ruolan when he returned. The mere thought of her incessant nagging gave him a headache. He quickly shook his head, pushing the thought from his mind. ’It’s no use thinking about this now.’ Then, Shen Haoran closed his eyes and began his Cultivation...

...

While Shen Haoran and his group were traveling, the armless Ghost Gui had already staggered back to the Fallen Valley. The disciples guarding the entrance were utterly shocked to see his condition. ’How could the Grand Elder, a man of immense power within the Valley, end up in such a state?’

"Where is the Valley Master? Where is he?" Ghost Gui roared at the two disciples guarding the entrance to the Fallen Valley, his face a ferocious mask.

Seeing the Grand Elder’s terrifying expression, the two guards trembled and dropped to their knees. "The... the Valley Master is in the main hall!" they stammered. The words had barely left their mouths when they felt a sinister gust of wind rush past. By the time they looked up, Ghost Gui had vanished.

Seeing Ghost Gui vanish, the two wiped the cold sweat from their brows and slumped to the ground. The Grand Elder’s state had been utterly terrifying; for a moment, they had felt as if they were about to die. They couldn’t help but wonder what could have happened to send the Grand Elder into such a panic.

Meanwhile, Ghost Gui sprinted nonstop until he reached the main hall. Ignoring the guards who tried to block his path, he barged straight inside.

The main hall was shrouded in gloom. A few wisps of green flame flickered on the walls, barely pushing back the darkness and casting an eerie, terrifying aura, like something out of the Nine Netherworld Hell.

Ghost Gui, seemingly long accustomed to this environment, quickly crossed the hall to the main dais. He immediately fell to his knees in the center of the hall and kowtowed respectfully to the man above. "Valley Master, I deserve to die ten thousand deaths!"

High in the main hall, a man in a pitch-black robe sat cross-legged, suspended in mid-air. His complexion was deathly pale, a stark contrast to the black runes covering his face. Faint black qi swirled around him, and the very air seemed to freeze from the chill he exuded. This man was none other than the Valley Master of the Fallen Valley and Ouyang Shaoyu’s father, Ouyang Feng.

As if hearing Ghost Gui’s words, Ouyang Feng’s tightly shut eyes slowly opened. They were completely black, without a trace of sclera, and they fixed intently on Ghost Gui below.

"Ghost Gui, why would you say such a thing?" Ouyang Feng asked faintly.

"Valley Master... Young Master Ouyang... he’s... he’s dead!" Ghost Gui finally managed to say, steeling himself.

BOOM!

The words had barely left Ghost Gui’s mouth when a formidable aura erupted from high in the hall. The powerful Qi blew the ghostly flames about, causing them to flicker wildly. A terrifying pressure instantly descended upon Ghost Gui, and an ice-cold voice echoed in his ear. "What did you say? Say that again!"

Feeling the formidable aura and the chilling killing intent mixed within it pressing down from above, Ghost Gui broke out in a cold sweat that instantly drenched his robes. Although this aura had not yet reached the Spirit Emperor Level, if given the choice between fighting Ouyang Feng or a Spirit Emperor Powerhouse, Ghost Gui would choose the Spirit Emperor without hesitation. At the hands of a Spirit Emperor Powerhouse, the worst that could happen was death. But if he fell into Ouyang Feng’s hands, death would be a beautiful, unattainable luxury.
