Chapter 229 - 170: Silu to Experience a Manor Spanning Half a Mountain?

Chapter 229: Chapter 170: Silu to Experience a Manor Spanning Half a Mountain?

What followed was simple enough.

First, Jiang Silu took a shower to wash away the exhaustion from the climb, then joined Lu Fan for dinner.

Though it was just the two of them, the table was laden with over a dozen dishes.

This left Jiang Silu momentarily stunned.

She quickly said to Lu Fan, "This is way too much."

"Don’t worry about it. It’s all part of the hotel package. It’d be a waste not to eat it," Lu Fan chuckled.

Jiang Silu looked at Jiali and Chen He standing behind her and asked cautiously, "Sister Jiali, Uncle Chen He, aren’t you eating with us?"

"If you can convince them to join us, I don’t mind," Lu Fan said with a smile.

So, Silu called out to Jiali and Chen He, "Sister Jiali, Uncle Chen He, why don’t you come eat with us?"

Jiali shook her head. "You go ahead and eat, Young Miss. We can’t sit at the same table as the boss and the Young Miss."

Although Silu found this a little strange, she figured it must be a mark of their professionalism.

’Always maintaining the distinction between subordinate and superior.’

She had no choice but to turn her attention back to the food.

She had to admit, there were quite a few dishes she had never tried before.

Determined not to let it go to waste, Silu ate for nearly a full hour.

Finally, Lu Fan had to gently stop her. "Alright, Silu, you can’t eat anymore. It’s okay. If we can’t finish it, we can’t finish it."

"But..." Silu looked at all the leftovers on the table, her heart aching at the thought of the waste.

"It’s fine. I’ll just have Chen He pack it up to take home. We have some cats and dogs at the manor who can eat it," Lu Fan explained.

’The lifestyle of the rich really is different,’ Silu suddenly thought.

To her, these were dishes she’d normally never get to eat, yet the leftovers were being fed to cats and dogs.

Still, as long as it wasn’t wasted, that was a good value to have.

Noticing the time, Lu Fan reminded her, "We have to be up at four AM, so you should get some rest. I’ll be in the room next door. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay~"

Silu lay on the soft, massive bed. The last time she’d felt this comfortable was when Lu Fan had booked a presidential suite for her for over a week so she could prepare for the Garden Cup competition.

The setup here, with this enormous bed, was every bit as luxurious as that suite, if not more so.

’This room must be incredibly expensive.’

’A single night might even cost thirty or forty thousand.’

The thought of her dad spending so much money just so she could climb a mountain made her feel a little guilty.

But today, the two of them had grown much closer, and it had made a scene from her childhood dreams come true.

Before long, she drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

There was even a faint smile on her lips as she slept.

At four in the morning, Silu was jolted awake by her alarm.

She climbed out of bed, rubbing her eyes as she walked to the window and pulled open the curtains.

It was still dark outside, but a faint glimmer of light was breaking on the horizon.

A knock sounded at the door, and Lu Fan’s voice came from outside. "Silu, are you up?"

"I’m up~" she called back, then hurried to the bathroom to get ready.

Ten minutes later, the two of them left the room, bundled up in thick coats.

The early morning air on the mountaintop was bone-chilling. Silu hunched her shoulders, burying half her face in her scarf.

Lu Fan took a cup of hot water from Jiali and passed it to Silu. "Here, hold this. It’ll warm your hands."

There were already quite a few people at the Sunrise Observation Platform, all with their phones and cameras set up and ready.

Lu Fan, however, led Silu to a prime viewing spot.

This spot was even enclosed by a windproof tent with a space heater inside. The temperature difference between the inside and outside was easily ten degrees.

Silu sat inside the windproof tent, looking down at the tourists below. She whispered, "Why don’t the other tourists come in here to warm up?"

Chen He overheard and reminded her with a smile, "Young Miss, the boss specially negotiated with the scenic area’s management and paid for this spot."

"Huh?" Silu was stunned.

’You can even buy a spot to watch the sunrise?!’

Seeing her reaction, Lu Fan chuckled. "Think about it. At a concert, you have regular seats and floor seats, right? If you pay enough, you can even get a backstage pass to meet the star up close."

Hearing this, Silu blushed, a little embarrassed. "I’ve never been to a concert, so I wouldn’t know."

Lu Fan’s curiosity was piqued. "Well, who’s your favorite singer? I’ll see if I can get you tickets to their next concert."

"I... I like listening to Sun Yanzi’s songs. Have you heard of her?"

"Of course I have. I love her music too. She’s incredibly popular," Lu Fan explained.

"You like her too?!" Silu’s eyes lit up, but then she looked a little down. "But back in school, a lot of my classmates said she was an obscure artist, so I never dared to talk about her."

"No way. Her songs are amazing, and she was huge back in the day. How could anyone call her obscure?" Lu Fan then proposed, "I’ll have Sister Jiali keep an eye out for her next concert, and I’ll take you."

"Really?!" Silu was thrilled. "That would be amazing! I’ve never been to a real concert."

"Don’t worry. Dad will make it happen."

Seeing her bundled up, Lu Fan asked with concern, "By the way, are you still cold?"

"I’m okay," Silu said, but her trembling body told a different story.

Lu Fan took off his own coat and draped it over her shoulders.

Startled, Silu quickly tried to refuse. "No, you can’t! You wear it! I’m not cold."

Lu Fan held her by the shoulders. "I’m tough, I don’t get cold easily. You wear it."
