Chapter 292: Chapter 196: Father and Son Each Getting a Room

"Then... then let’s go get a room."

The moment the words left his mouth, Jiang Sifan realized how suggestive they sounded.

His face flushed red, and he quickly waved his hands to explain. "No, no, that’s not what I meant! I mean... we’ll find a hotel, you can stay for the night... and I... I’ll go back to my dorm."

Wen Wan looked up at him.

The streetlight’s glow reflected in her eyes, making them sparkle.

She looked at him, blushing as she nodded. "I know. But what about you, Class President? Can you still get back into your dorm?"

"Oh, right," Jiang Sifan explained. "The girls’ dorm is closed, so the guys’ dorm must be closed too."

He gave a helpless, self-deprecating laugh. "Looks like we both have to get rooms after all. We’ll just get two, right next to each other."

Wen Wan listened and agreed. "Okay~"

Jiang Sifan suggested, "Let’s go, then. I know a few hotels near the school’s back gate."

He got on his electric scooter with Wen Wan and rode down the quiet campus road.

His mind was a complete mess.

’I can’t believe I actually said something like "get a room" to a girl. That was so disrespectful. I hope Wen Wan doesn’t mind.’

At the first hotel, Jiang Sifan went inside and asked, "Excuse me, do you have any rooms available?"

The owner, a middle-aged man, didn’t even look up from his phone. "Nope. Full."

Jiang Sifan paused for a second before asking again, "What about a standard room? Or even a single?"

The owner shook his head and waved a dismissive hand. "All full."

"This one’s full. Let’s try another," Jiang Sifan said to Wen Wan as he came back out.

The second one was also full.

The third one was full, too.

Jiang Sifan was starting to get anxious. He asked this hotel’s owner, "Are there any other hotels around here?"

The owner chuckled. "There’s one more up ahead. You can try your luck, but at this hour, it’s a long shot. There are just too many of you college kids, all these young couples coming out to get rooms at night. If you want a room, you have to book it earlier."

Hearing this, Jiang Sifan was about to quickly explain that they weren’t a couple, worried about ruining Wen Wan’s reputation.

But Wen Wan, her face red, whispered, "Class President, let’s go. We need to hurry and find a room."

"Okay."

Jiang Sifan thanked the owner and led Wen Wan toward the last hotel.

His heart grew more and more uneasy. ’If that one’s full too, what will Wen Wan do tonight?’

’I can’t just have her spend the night on the street with me, can I?’

’If it were just me, I could pull an all-nighter at an internet cafe. But Wen Wan can’t do that.’

’If there’s really no other option, we’ll have to head downtown.’

When they reached the fourth hotel, Jiang Sifan pushed the door open and asked apprehensively, "Excuse me, do you have any rooms left?"

The owner, an older woman, glanced at them and replied, "Yes. There’s one twin room left."

Jiang Sifan froze.

’One room?’

’A twin room?’

He turned to look at Wen Wan. Her face was already bright red.

Seeing them hesitate, the woman prompted, "So, do you want it? It might be gone if you wait."

Jiang Sifan gritted his teeth and replied, "We’ll take it."

He took out his ID card to register and paid the security deposit.

The woman handed him a key card. "Third floor, 308."

Jiang Sifan took the key card, and he and Wen Wan went upstairs together.

Neither of them spoke as they walked up the stairs.

The silence was awkward.

When they reached room 308, Jiang Sifan swiped the card to open the door and stepped aside, letting Wen Wan go in first.

Wen Wan walked in and stood in the middle of the room, her face turning an even deeper shade of red.

Jiang Sifan followed her in and closed the door.

He looked at Wen Wan and said earnestly, "Wen Wan, don’t worry. I promise I’m a gentleman. I absolutely will not lay a single finger on you tonight."

Wen Wan kept her head down and whispered, "I... I know."

Seeing her like this, Jiang Sifan’s heart suddenly softened.

He smiled, trying to ease the tension. "Alright, then. You... you can take a shower first. I’ll... I’ll just be on my phone."

Blushing, Wen Wan’s voice was barely a whisper. "I... I didn’t bring a change of clothes."

Jiang Sifan froze.

He looked at Wen Wan, then at the two bathrobes in the room, and his mind went blank for a second.

Wen Wan grew even more mortified, lowering her head, unable to look at him.

Jiang Sifan cleared his throat. "Well... you can wear the bathrobe for now. You can change back into your clothes tomorrow morning and switch when you get back to the dorm."

Wen Wan nodded and whispered, "Okay."

Jiang Sifan quickly turned and went out onto the balcony, closing the door behind him.

It was a little cold on the balcony. The night wind felt chilly against his skin.

But he paid it no mind. His thoughts were completely filled with the mortified look on Wen Wan’s face when she said she hadn’t brought any clothes.

He stood on the balcony, watching the cars passing by below, trying hard to calm himself down.

After a while, he heard the bathroom door open.

A moment later, Wen Wan’s soft voice came from inside. "Class President, I’m done. You can come in now."

Jiang Sifan took a deep breath, pushed the balcony door open, and walked back inside.

And then he froze.

Wen Wan was standing by the bed, wrapped in the hotel’s white bathrobe.

It was a standard-issue hotel robe made of thick terrycloth, with the belt tied loosely around her waist.

But even a robe this loose couldn’t completely hide her figure.

The neckline revealed a patch of fair skin, her collarbones so delicate they looked sculpted.

The robe’s collar gaped slightly, offering a tantalizing, half-hidden glimpse of the soft curve of her chest.

Her hair was still damp, hanging loosely around her shoulders. Droplets of water slid from the tips, landing on the robe and creating small, dark splotches.

One droplet traced a path down her collarbone, slipping deep into her neckline and vanishing between the soft curves of her chest.

The hem of the robe ended just above her knees, revealing slender, straight calves, her skin so fair it seemed to glow.
