Child of Destiny

Chapter 2285: First Collision (Part 2)

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The fragments of sword energy scattered through the air around Felix as the vibrations of mana gradually receded.

Grand Marshal Ivar narrowed his eyes upon seeing this, seemingly gauging the strength of his opponent.

Shing! Shing! Shing!

A moment later, he suddenly swung his greatsword several times in front of him, sending a barrage of sword waves flying straight toward Felix.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Each sword wave carried a dense amount of energy, cutting through the air as it rapidly closed the distance to its target.

Meanwhile, Felix adjusted his stance.

He placed his left foot forward while stepping back with his right. His hips sank slightly as he held the two-pronged sword horizontally before him.

At the same time, his ears twitched slightly as he listened carefully to the movements of the incoming barrage.

He waited for a brief moment before suddenly gathering his mana into the fingertips of his left hand.

He then flicked his fingers against the blades of the sword in his hand.

Ting~! Ling~ Ling~!

However, instead of spreading into the surrounding air, the vibration became trapped between the twin blades of the two-pronged sword.

The vibrations bounced repeatedly between the blades, generating an even stronger force with each rebound.

Shing!

A moment later, Felix suddenly thrust the sword forward, releasing the trapped vibrations into the air along with his resonating mana.

Bang!

A shockwave immediately erupted, forming a spiraling vibration that shot straight toward one of the incoming sword waves.

Boom!

The moment the two attacks collided, the vibration canceled out the momentum of the incoming sword wave before scattering the energy it carried into the surrounding air.

’Divine Sound Art: Sword Series—Heavenly Quiver.’

Felix immediately repeated the same process.

He thrust the two-pronged sword forward several times, releasing a series of strikes that transformed into dozens of spiraling vibrations and flew toward the incoming sword waves.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Just like the first collision, each vibration canceled out a sword wave upon contact while simultaneously scattering the energy contained within it.

Not long after, every sword wave had disappeared, leaving behind nothing but the fading vibrations and scattered remnants of energy from the dozens of collisions.

In the distance, Ivar couldn’t help but narrow his eyes further, realizing that his opponent was far from as simple as he had initially appeared.

"Ha! Ha!" He then urged his mount forward, accelerating straight toward Felix while dragging his greatsword along the ground beside him.

Taka-Dug! Taka-Dug! Taka-Dug!

The warhorse galloped at full speed, kicking up a thick cloud of dust behind it.

Bang!

A moment later, Ivar suddenly leaped off his warhorse and shot through the air.

Swoosh!

High in the air, he gripped the greatsword with both hands and raised it above his head while gathering his mana into his arms and weapon.

Shing!

The instant he reached the peak of his jump, Ivar suddenly came crashing down, bringing the greatsword with him in a seemingly unstoppable descending strike.

BOOM!

The air around him seemed to erupt as the overwhelming force of the attack tore through the surrounding space.

Felix immediately felt the tremendous pressure bearing down on him.

The sheer presence accompanying Ivar’s attack was so overwhelming that it felt as though the gravity around him had been altered, making it difficult for him to move freely.

Regardless, Felix remained in place without retreating.

He maintained his stance while continuously gathering the surrounding mana, which soon formed a protective layer around his body, flowing upward like raging flames.

He gripped the two-pronged sword with both hands as powerful vibrations continuously emanated from its blades, resonating with the mana flowing around him.

When Ivar was almost upon him, Felix suddenly swung the sword horizontally above his head, seemingly choosing to meet the incoming attack head-on.

Shing!

Just before the two swords collided, Felix’s weapon suddenly released a series of intense vibrations that resonated with the surrounding mana.

’Divine Sound Art: Sword Series—Divine Tremor.’

BOOM!

The two swords collided, producing a powerful shockwave that spread in every direction.

However, the seemingly unstoppable momentum behind Ivar’s greatsword was gradually shredded by the intense vibrations released from Felix’s sword and mana.

The force behind the attack weakened rapidly as its momentum was continuously disrupted by the vibrations.

Until, in the end, it completely lost all of its momentum.

Ivar couldn’t help but frown deeply upon realizing what had happened.

He had poured tremendous strength into that descending strike, yet Felix had somehow caused all of its force to dissipate.

Bang!

Ivar immediately pressed down with his greatsword before using the residual force from the clash to propel himself backward.

Swoosh!

He landed lightly on the sand before sliding backward for several meters.

Once he finally came to a stop, Ivar couldn’t help but frown deeply as he stared at Felix with a grim expression. "This brat is not simple."

Despite the huge difference in their Stats, Felix was still able to bridge the gap against the Grand Marshal-ranked NPC through his techniques.

Alucard, who had been observing the entire exchange from a distance, couldn’t help but smirk upon seeing this.

He had to acknowledge that Felix truly possessed the strength to back up his confidence.

...

Ivar and Felix stared at each other for quite a while before simultaneously kicking off the sand.

Bang! Bang!

They kicked up huge clouds of dust behind them as they shot toward each other, unleashing a series of slashes with their swords.

Shing! Shing! Shing!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

BOOM!

The two transformed into a pair of streaks of light that repeatedly clashed against each other, leaving a series of explosions in their wake.

All the sand dunes within the area were sent flying, gradually altering the surrounding terrain. Even the nearby boulders were crushed by the residual force produced by their countless collisions.

The area around the two had effectively become a forbidden zone for anyone too weak to withstand the aftermath of their battle.

...

Among the elite cavalry that Ivar had brought with him, there was a particular unit that specialized in wielding crossbows.

They might not be able to directly interfere with the battle, but they could at least provide support for their Grand Marshal through another method.

Bang!

They quickly formed a line in the distance and raised their crossbows toward the battlefield, carefully taking aim.

Despite how chaotic and intense the exchange between Ivar and Felix was, the crossbowmen appeared completely unfazed.

They were confident in their ability to identify the right moment to strike without accidentally hitting their own commander.

Bang!

The instant they completed their formation and locked onto their target, Ivar suddenly unleashed an unexpected attack that forced Felix to skid backward across the sand.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

It was at that exact moment that the crossbow unit simultaneously fired, sending a barrage of bolts toward Felix, who had been separated from Ivar and was now fully exposed to their firing line.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The hail of arrows flew toward Felix, who was still in the middle of relieving the tension in his muscles after forcefully receiving Ivar’s previous attack.

However, despite being subjected to such a deadly assault, he remained calm and composed.

Because he was never alone.

WHOOSH!

Just before the arrows could reach Felix, a torrent of water suddenly shot through the air from the distance, swallowing every projectile before they could even reach their target.

Everyone couldn’t help but turn their gazes toward the source of the water.

Felicia was standing in midair, surrounded by currents of water that continuously danced around her body.

From the way she looked at everyone, it was obvious that she was warning them not to interfere with the battle between Felix and Ivar.

Realizing that they would not be able to interfere with their Grand Marshal’s battle while she was present, the Captains of the various units immediately shifted their attention toward Felicia.

"Go!"

The entire cavalry force simultaneously turned toward her before charging forward in their respective units.

The heavy cavalry at the front raised their shields and spears as they charged straight toward Felicia.

They even synchronized their skills, further reinforcing their overall defenses.

The mana of the entire unit intertwined and formed a massive moving wall, seemingly capable of blocking any attack thrown at them.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The powerful hooves of the heavy cavalry shook the ground as they advanced, creating immense pressure throughout the battlefield.

Behind them, the crossbow unit was already preparing its next attack, waiting until Felicia entered their effective firing range.

Felicia calmly watched the coordinated movements of the cavalry before a faint smirk appeared on her face.

She had originally planned to use her usual fighting style, relying on her Divine Sound Art to deal with the incoming forces.

However, after observing the actions of the opposing side, she felt that she needed to adjust her approach slightly.

After all, their main objective was not to completely annihilate the enemy forces.

They were supposed to attract as much attention as possible and keep a portion of the fortress’s forces occupied until the next stage of the operation was initiated.

If they completely overwhelmed the opposing side too quickly, the enemy might simply retreat and remain within the fortress walls instead of sending more forces out.

That was precisely what they wanted to avoid.

Thinking about this, Felicia pursed her lips slightly before smiling. "Let me play with all of you a little longer."
