Chapter 273: Chapter 273 The Fool Who Wouldn’t Listen

Tiffany’s POV

I immediately mind-linked Fynn. It had been a long time since I’d connected with him, but right then, I couldn’t afford to worry about my one-sided cold war with him.

The second he accepted my link, I hissed, "Get down to River Gauche Cafe. Right now."

"What’s wrong?" He sounded distracted, half his mind clearly still on work.

"Your precious girlfriend is all over another man behind your back, that’s what’s wrong."

"What are you talking about?" Of course he didn’t believe me. Of course.

"I’m dead serious, Fynn. Come see it with your own eyes if you think I’m making it up."

"I’m busy. Sebastian’s out of the office and I’m covering everything. Don’t start your games right now, Tiffany."

That stung more than I wanted to admit. He genuinely thought I was making this up just to stir the pot.

"Games? You think this is a game? Listen to me, I might have feelings for you, but I am not the kind of girl who’d wreck someone’s relationship with lies. Fine. Don’t believe me. I’ll take pictures and send them straight to you. Then we’ll see who’s playing games."

I cut the mind-link before he could answer.

I yanked my phone out, my hands shaking with fury.

I spun around, ready to snap a nice clear shot of Willow and her mystery man, and—

Nothing.

The window seat was empty. Two cups of coffee still steamed on the table, one of them half finished, but the happy little couple had vanished into thin air.

I bolted inside and scanned the whole place. Gone. Both of them, gone.

"You absolute idiot," I muttered, smacking my own forehead.

Why hadn’t I taken the photo first and made the call second? Now Fynn had every reason in the world to keep calling me a liar.

The angrier I got, the faster I drove. By the time I reached Simons Corporation I was practically vibrating.

I took the elevator straight up to the ninth floor and shoved open the door to the private office.

Fynn wasn’t there. So I dropped into his chair to wait. Then I noticed the computer screen.

The wallpaper was a glowing photo of Willow, smiling like she’d never done a wrong thing in her life.

My blood boiled all over again.

I grabbed the mouse and swapped it out for a nice, cold mountain landscape.

When Fynn finally walked in and saw me sitting there, he scowled. "Are you still not done with all this drama?"

He tossed a stack of documents onto the desk and dropped into the chair. Then his eyes landed on the new wallpaper and his whole face darkened. "Did you mess with my computer?"

"I was just cleaning it up for you."

"Who asked you to?"

"Nobody. I just couldn’t stand looking at her face, so I changed it."

He glared at me. "Since when do you get a say in what I look at? As long as I like it, that’s all that matters."

"How can you still like a woman who’s cheating on you? Are you honestly that gone over some—"

"Tiffany Simons!"

His roar hit me like a slap.

I just sat there, stunned, staring at him. Something in my chest cracked.

Fynn had never in his life spoken to me like that. Not once.

"I don’t care what you think of Willow," he said, his voice low and hard. "She’s my girlfriend as far as I’m concerned, and I’m going to choose her as my mate! I will not allow you to slander her in front of me! Otherwise I don’t care whose sister you are. Push me on this and you won’t like the version of me you get."

"What’s that supposed to mean? Are you going to hit me now?"

I shot to my feet and planted myself right in front of him. "Open your eyes, Fynn! You’ve spent two whole years with her. How can you still not see the kind of woman she really is?"

"Get out."

He didn’t even try to soften it. He just pointed one finger at the door, cold as ice.

For a few seconds I couldn’t move. He had always been so gentle and kind to me, and now, all for some cheating bitch, he was yelling at me and even throwing me out. The fury came rushing back all at once.

I shoved past him hard and screamed, "You’re a fool, Fynn Jaymond! The biggest, blindest fool in the entire world! One day you’re going to regret treating me like this, and I hope it hurts!"
