Chapter 10: Chapter 10
Lena’s POV
His heat still clung to my skin, like it refused to leave. I could almost feel the brush of his fingertips between my thighs, and the way he’d stared at my naked body like he could see straight through me.
God. I buried my face in the pillow. What the hell was wrong with me?
I forced myself to sleep, but of course, my brain betrayed me—I ended up having a sex dream.
In the dream, my knees were pressed into the mattress, my hands gripping Dominic Voss’s shoulders as I straddled him. His palms slid down from my waist, slowly tracing the curve of my hips, pushing me lower against him.
"Move," he said.
I rocked my body once. His cock pressed up against me through his pants—hard, burning hot.
His hair was a mess, dark strands sticking to his forehead, damp with sweat. His eyes were half-lidded, lashes casting a faint shadow on his cheekbones.
My palms splayed on his chest, and under my hands his heartbeat thudded—too fast, frantic, like he was being hunted with nowhere to run.
I lifted my hips, then dropped down again. Pleasure coiled warm and tight inside me. I leaned forward, and Dominic’s mouth closed around my nipple. His lips wrapped over the sensitive skin, his mouth hot and wet as his tongue pressed up roughly and swept across the tip.
My back arched like someone shocked me. A small sound slipped out before I could stop it.
"So wet?" His voice was low, his lips brushing my earlobe. "Just riding me gets you this worked up?"
My rhythm stuttered for a moment—then I moved harder, faster.
His mouth stayed on my breast, tongue circling the swollen tip before sucking again.
My movements grew desperate. My knees tightened around his waist, my hips dropping lower each time, hitting his hip bones with a soft, slick sound.
I reached the peak. The knot deep in my belly snapped open, pleasure rushing through me so fiercely my whole body locked up, then slowly melted.
My fingers were still curled against Dominic’s chest, and I could feel his heartbeat calming under my touch, like a drum finally settling into a steady beat.
Then I heard the door.
His assistant, Daniel, knocked on the bedroom door. After Dominic gave permission, Daniel stepped in with a folder in his hand. He nodded politely at me before heading straight into the study.
A moment later, the study door opened, and Dominic walked out, holding that same folder. He came to the side of the bed and handed it to me.
"Companion contract." His tone was flat, almost mechanical. "If you insist on staying in this bond, then sign it."
I blinked, thrown off for a second. His efficiency was honestly terrifying. I flipped the pages open—every clause was icy and precise, covering boundaries I’d thought of... and a bunch I hadn’t.
My mouth twitched. I grabbed the pen he’d set on top of the papers. He watched me with that quiet, mocking look he was so good at.
I didn’t stall. I signed where he told me to, then pulled out my phone to snap photos of the key terms before handing the contract back.
My quick obedience clearly caught him off guard. When he took the papers, his eyes lingered on my face a heartbeat longer than usual.
"Memorize the rules." He tucked the contract away and added, "Especially the parts about boundaries and confidentiality. The expiration of my curse stays secret. And aside from the pack, you’re not telling anyone you’re my contractual mate."
My stomach clenched—I had already told Anna. But she’d never sell me out. I nodded. "Got it."
"And one more thing." He stepped closer, each word clipped and cold. "If you ever get tangled up with another male wolf again, the contract ends instantly. You’ll be thrown out on the spot."
I nodded again. That seemed to satisfy him. He left.
The door shut behind him. I sank back onto the bed, staring up at the ornate ceiling, emotions all tangled in a mess I couldn’t sort out. A contract that chained only me, that carved me out of his life completely—this was what our ‘relationship’ boiled down to.
Later that afternoon, feeling a bit better, I sprawled on the ridiculously soft couch and called Anna.
"A contract? This fast?" Anna yelped. "What did he even put in there?"
I sniffed; the cold symptoms were definitely kicking in. "A bunch of stuff. Basically, every line is there to remind me I’m supposed to stay in my lane. First, absolute loyalty. If I have any sketchy interaction with another guy, I get kicked out of the Bloodmoon Pack on the spot. No safety net."
Anna actually sounded pretty calm. "Okay, I mean... that one’s not the worst. It’s not like you’re out here trying to date around."
"Sure. But the next part is where it gets fun." I let out a humorless laugh. "If I show even a hint of fear about his curse—hell, if he merely suspects I’m thinking of running—he can shut everything down immediately. He calls it a courage test."
"You’re kidding." Anna sounded like she was choking. "He’s actually cursed, Lena. This isn’t a contract, it’s a suicide mission!"
"That’s exactly the point. He built all this so I’d fail. He wants me to crack first, so he can prove no she-wolf would ever stay with him." I paused. "I’m not giving him that win."
"Alright... what else is in this nightmare agreement?"
"I have to obey everything he decides. Where I live, what I do during the day—literally all of it. I can’t argue. And I can’t tell anyone anything about his curse."
Anna went quiet for a long moment. "Lena... that sounds exactly like your father’s house."
"My voice came out flatter than I expected. ’Pretty much. Except back at my father’s house, I wouldn’t even get paid in the end.’
She already knew why I ended up in the Bloodmoon Pack, so she lowered her voice, almost tiptoeing around the words. ’Okay... I get it. So what counts as success then?’
’Success means I give birth to a healthy heir,’ I said, keeping my tone steady. ’Only then do I get the money. Only then do I get a legal standing in this pack.’
’Oh my god,’ Anna gasped, eyes going wide. ’Lena, you’re really going to have a kid for a monster like that? You actually signed that agreement?’
’I knew exactly what I was saying yes to.’ My throat tightened, but I still forced the words out. ’What else could I do? Go back to my father so he can sell me off like spare inventory? Or sit around waiting for Luke to drag me back?’
’Lena, don’t lose hope. You know I’m always here for you!’ Anna blurted out.
’I know... and I love you for that.’ I let out a shaky breath. ’But your father’s pack is even smaller than mine. My father took a huge payment from Dominic Voss. If I break that deal, neither of us could survive Dominic’s fury.’
I paused, forcing myself to sound a little more upbeat. ’Besides, Luna Celeste and Alpha Theodore have been nothing but kind. Honestly, aside from Dominic acting like I’m a thorn in his side, everything here is... fine. No money stress, no danger hanging over my head.’
’I’m sorry, Lena. I wish I were stronger,’ Anna murmured.
’You’ve done plenty, Anna. Just being there for me is enough,’ I said gently, nudging her mood back up.
After that call, I told Anna I needed to get familiar with the pack grounds. It was my third day here, and I hadn’t even taken a proper look around.
By sunset, I walked along the main street. The stone path was lined with old-fashioned buildings, shops mixed in with homes. It should’ve been peaceful—pretty, even—but then a tall brunette wolf came striding toward me, a few equally aggressive she-wolves trailing behind her.
’Well, look who we have here.’ She eyed me up and down, her smirk sharp enough to cut. ’Honestly, I’m shocked you lasted this long.’
I kept quiet and tried to move past them, but she stepped right into my path, blocking me like it was her personal sport.
’Hold on,’ she said, chin tilted high. ’Name’s Ivy. Old Beta’s daughter. And I think you’re a spy sent by witches. I mean, how else could some Omega like you walk away alive from Alpha Dominic’s bed?’
Her pack of she-wolves snickered behind her. I could feel everyone around us staring, their looks full of hostility and nosy curiosity.
’Omegas have more guts than you think,’ I answered, keeping my voice calm, trying not to let my hands shake.
Ivy laughed—sharp, grating, full of mockery. ’Guts? Or just stupidity? Dominic hasn’t even marked you. Give it a week, you’ll be tossed out. Then you’re nothing.’
Her words hit hard. She wasn’t wrong—Dominic’s mark was nowhere on my neck, and that meant my place here was barely hanging by a thread.
’So what?’ I lifted my chin, meeting her gaze head-on. ’I’m still standing here. And I’m still someone you have to talk to.’"
Ivy’s face went dark in an instant. Clearly, she hadn’t foreseen me snapping back like that.
"You bitch!" she shouted, hand whipping up toward me.
I didn’t even have time to dodge. A burning sting exploded across my cheek, but I didn’t fall. Instead, I straightened my spine even more and stared her down, cold as ice.
"That’s it?" I let out a shaky laugh. "I thought a Beta’s daughter would at least have some manners."
That comment lit the fuse. Ivy’s face flushed a furious red, and the she-wolves behind her all looked like they were ready to jump me at any second.
"You heard that, right?" Ivy turned to her packmates, her voice trembling with rage. "This bitch thinks she can lecture us!"
"Ivy, your problems are as prominent as that nose of yours," I said, mocking her even though my voice was barely holding up.
Ivy froze. Everyone in the Bloodmoon Pack knew she was sensitive about her nose, and a few snickers popped up around us. That completely pushed her over the edge.
"You worthless bitch!" she screeched. "Who do you think you are? You’re just an Omega nobody wants!"
She slapped me again—harder this time—and I almost lost my footing. But I still stared back at her with a crooked smile.
"At least... I don’t have to tear other people down... to feel better about myself."
"Shut up!" Ivy snapped, nearly hysterical. "Girls, teach her a lesson!"
The she-wolves surged toward me. Fists and kicks came from every direction. I tried to fight back, but with so many of them, it was pointless. Chaos filled my ears, and over it all, Ivy’s venomous voice cut through:
"Let’s see if you still act tough after this! Think getting close to Dominic makes you special?"
More blows landed. My body screamed in pain, but my mouth refused to quit.
"What’s wrong? Did I hit a nerve?" I coughed blood, the metallic taste spreading across my tongue. "It figures... you all only dare gang up on an injured Omega. Real brave."
"You have a death wish!" one of them snarled, grabbing my hair and slamming my head toward the stone floor.
A sharp pain exploded behind my eyes. Everything tilted. Black dots were swimming in my vision, but I still forced my eyes open to look at the wolves crowding around me.
"If you keep this up... Dominic will find out." My voice was thin and fading. "Or are you all just cowards who only fight from the shadows?"
That made them even wilder. Fists, palms, feet—everything came crashing down on me. My sight blurred completely, shapes melting together. Every inch of me hurt, and I could feel myself slipping away.
Right before everything went dark, I thought I heard someone shouting from a distance, footsteps pounding toward us...
Then the world collapsed into black.
