A little after eight in the evening, once Ye Qiu finished watching this magic show, he headed out with the two women.
This grand magician was called Dawei, and his act was about spatial teleportation—going from the very bottom to a height of dozens of meters in an instant. Under normal circumstances, you couldn’t go that fast even in an elevator.
Ye Qiu and Miranda looked over and saw this middle-aged white man, a bit chubby yet somewhat handsome, who was very popular in America.
The show was starting now.
This performance needed some time.
There was also a so‑called host giving explanations.
Then, just like instant teleportation, they had just seen him down at the bottom, but in the blink of an eye he was up on a platform dozens of meters high.
How on earth did he get up there?
Those people simply couldn’t figure it out.
However, Ye Qiu saw through it at a glance.
This definitely wasn’t the same person, but one of a pair of twins.
Of course, maybe other people suspected that too, but there was no evidence.
After watching this, since there were still plenty of thrilling attractions in Circus Circus, Ye Qiu didn’t feel like watching anymore.
He left with the two women.
Once they walked outside, they found it was already dark.
At first he’d felt a bit dizzy, but now he was slowly feeling better.
They had spent an entire afternoon inside Circus Circus.
"So what are we going to eat?" Ye Qiu looked at Miranda and asked.
"I’ll go with whatever you say," Miranda replied.
Since that was the case, Ye Qiu thought for a moment and decided they might as well head back to Chinatown to eat.
Just as Ye Qiu was about to hail a cab with the two women and leave, he suddenly noticed that someone seemed to be tailing them from behind, but Ye Qiu pretended not to notice.
It wasn’t his first time being followed; he really wasn’t afraid of this kind of thing.
Even if the other side might be carrying guns.
After they got into the taxi and the driver asked where they were going, Ye Qiu looked over at Xia Jing and said, "Someone’s following us from behind."
Someone following them?
Xia Jing was a little scared. She turned around to look back, but from inside the car she naturally couldn’t see clearly.
But why would someone be following them?
In recent years it had become common to hear about people who went abroad to study or travel and then mysteriously disappeared or died. Xia Jing didn’t really know much about America.
So when she heard that someone was following them now, she really was a bit scared.
When the taxi drove into Chinatown and the three of them got out and walked in, Ye Qiu took Miranda by the hand and Xia Jing hurried to follow.
Just moments ago Xia Jing had still been thinking about what to eat, but after suddenly hearing that someone was following them, she completely lost her appetite and just wanted to go back home as soon as possible.
At least when she was in Jinling, she didn’t have to worry about things like this.
Ye Qiu pulled Miranda into a seafood restaurant, and Xia Jing followed them in.
Once inside, they found there were quite a few customers.
They went up to the second floor and found a table to sit at, and Ye Qiu discovered that the seafood here was indeed pretty good.
After he finished ordering, he glanced out the window.
He knew those people had followed them to the vicinity, but they hadn’t followed them upstairs.
Half an hour later, the seafood dishes he’d ordered were gradually brought out. While Ye Qiu and Miranda were happily digging in, Xia Jing had no appetite at all.
She only nibbled a little and then stopped eating.
It wasn’t until after ten at night that Ye Qiu leaned back in his chair, feeling satisfied. He called the waitress over to pay the bill, then got ready to head back to the hotel.
As soon as he stepped out of the seafood restaurant, he saw those suspicious people still tailing them from behind.
When they returned to the hotel, Xia Jing went back to her own room, hurriedly grabbed her clothes, and moved into Ye Qiu and Miranda’s room. She didn’t dare sleep alone anymore.
When Ye Qiu told the two women to go bathe one after the other, he himself slipped out of the hotel alone.
Once he got outside, he indeed saw those same suspicious guys who had been tailing him the whole time.
Ye Qiu didn’t have any enemies in America. Even those earlier members of the Mafia Organization had already been taken care of by Gambino X; basically no one dared come make trouble for him anymore.
So right now, the only likely explanation was that some desperadoes had found out he’d won a lot of money the previous night, and those people had set their sights on this young man.
Besides, those people wouldn’t—and didn’t dare—target domestic tycoons.
First, those rich folks had lots of bodyguards; second, it would be very easy to trace the case back.
But targeting foreigners was different. They might simply wind up dead, tossed into the sea, or, here in Las Vegas, just thrown into the desert as fertilizer for the cacti, and nobody might ever find out.
"You’ve been following me for quite a while. Mind telling me what you want?" Ye Qiu asked in English.
Those few guys really hadn’t expected that this young man being called the new Gambling God would actually come out on his own.
"First, you hand over the six hundred million US Dollar you won last night. Second, you help our boss win money," one of them said.
Hand over that six hundred million US Dollar, and on top of that, they wanted him to help their boss win?
These guys were really greedy as hell.
"And who exactly is your boss?" Ye Qiu asked coldly.
They didn’t answer.
But judging from their speech and their looks, they should be immigrants or descendants from Mexico.
Mexico’s Gangs were numerous and extremely brazen.
"Kid, we’re giving you orders now, not the other way around!" that mixed‑race man said.
"There are too many people here. I’d like to go somewhere quiet and have a proper chat with you."
Those few didn’t believe Ye Qiu could do anything, so they went with him into a deserted alley in Chinatown where almost no one passed by.
Very soon, when miserable screams rang out, Ye Qiu clapped his hands and walked out from inside. He already knew the name of that Mexican Gang boss.
Ye Qiu didn’t waste words and directly called Gambino X.
Ye Qiu briefly described the situation.
Gambino already understood what was going on.
"Mr. Ye, this is easy to take care of," Gambino X said over there.
Although the Mafia Organization was far from what it used to be, Las Vegas was still one of its most important strongholds.
Ye Qiu had just gotten back to the hotel.
A middle‑aged man wearing a gold chain, covered in tattoos, and sporting sunglasses even late at night had just walked out of a Thailand bathhouse when he was gunned down on the spot. He took more than ten bullets and ended up like a beehive.
Those Mexican immigrants had been planning to go back and report to their boss, only to find out that he was already dead beyond dead.
They immediately guessed it probably had something to do with that young man from earlier.
Just now, when they saw Ye Qiu go out, Xia Jing and Miranda hadn’t known what he was going to do, but the two women were indeed a bit worried.
Even though Las Vegas was billed as one of the safest cities in America, once gambling was involved, things definitely weren’t that clean.
Now, seeing Ye Qiu return, the two women finally breathed a small sigh of relief.
