Tired, and with a few complex thoughts swirling around his head, Timothy made his way back to where his friends were, where he was immediately greeted by a wave of cheers, the loudest of which came from his Little Aunt.

"Congratulations, Little Timmy!" Eris shouted, her voice carrying crisply and clearly to all the surrounding ears, drawing no small number of confused looks, then giggles, then burst of laughter from the youths.

As she was technically Timothy’s ’aunt’, Eris had every right to call him ’little’, but given the difference in their heights and age it all came off more as a joke than anything else.

The worst part? Timothy knew Eris didn’t have any ill-intent when she called him by that unfortunate nickname, she just like the idea of being his aunt.

Unfortunately for the young man, his friends weren’t so innocent and certainly weren’t going to pass up this opportunity to have some fun with him.

"That’s right, Little Timmy!" Scott grinned and slapped his friend on the shoulder, "Come on, why aren’t you smiling more? You won!"

Cheers for ’Little Timmy’ soon rang out from all the gathered youths, each of them wearing big, meaningful grins as they praised him for being such a ’good boy’.

Even Lucas and Christina joined in. Both of them were normally slightly more mature than that, but after spending the last half-a-month or helping clean-up after Timothy made some verbal slip or inappropriate comment, they felt that it was alright to give him a little bit of a hard time right now.

For this part, Timothy was thoroughly embarrassed, not only because of the silly nickname his Little Aunt had now gotten everyone to call him by, but also because he really felt he had only won because of a pair of favourable circumstances.

First, Christina hadn’t gone all out; if she had, she would have won.

Second, he only beat Gabriel because he was older and had a higher cultivation.

"Don’t think too hard about it, Timothy," a more mature voice cut in, one that could seemingly tell what the young man was thinking despite approaching him from behind.

Upon hearing this voice, the crowd of swarming youths immediately parted and offer greetings to their elders, especially to Celestina, the one who had spoken just now.

Arriving in front of her great great grandnephew, who was actually a few centimetres taller than her, Celestina patted him on the shoulder and offered her own congratulations, "Good job out there. Remember, you won, that’s what matters. If you really think you’re undeserving of this victory, then just train harder so next time you won’t have to feel this way."

"Yes, Matriarch," Timothy bowed politely.

"En, good," Celestina nodded in approval before small teasing grin crept onto her face, "Celebrate today, ’Little Timmy’, then prepare yourself for the Royal Ancestor’s lesson... you’ll need it..."

The last words Celestina spoke were very quiet and somewhat mumbled, so it wasn’t clear whether Timothy actually heard them or not, especially after he had been hit by another sneak-attack from the Family Head, one that set off another wave of laughter around him.

Of course, it could have been that Celestina was simply calling her grandson ’Little Timmy’ affectionately, but given her personality, no one believed that to be the case.

Obviously, she had overheard the earlier conversation, and was now piling on.

Seems I’ll be known as Little Timmy for a while yet, Timothy sighed to himself before nodding once more.

.....

More congratulations from the masters followed Celestina’s, and not just for Timothy.

Other than a few poor performances by those who had made foolish mistakes like underestimating their opponents or letting their guard down, most of the youths who fought in the tournament had proven themselves quite capable, a point that even Former Queen Ariana went out of her way to declare.

What followed that evening was a celebratory feast, one that featured several items from Princess Bakery and some early experimental prototypes of other universe foods that Lucas and the kitchen staff were currently working on.

Needless to say, the youths thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with the older ones even sharing a few drinks, lightening the mood between them even further.

There were still some sore feelings between the winners and losers from the tournament, and some underlying tensions between families who didn’t get along, but good food, good drink, and good cheer gradually allowed most of the younger generation to set such things aside and simply relax together.

For instance, Eris and Brynn were laughing and hugging one another by the end of the night, the two of them having become quite close somehow.

Christina was able to share a moment together with Olivia, and thought not much was said, it was the first time the two of them had really sat together like this in years, making it a significant achievement in the young princess’ mind.

The shy and somewhat anti-social Danika was dragged into the merriment by several of the young kids. She too was a champion, so the rowdy youths figured she needed to celebrate too, even if she didn’t want to.

Even Timothy and Gabriel ’got along’ at the banquet, the two of them sharing a drink, then a second, then a third...

At some point, the two young men had seemingly gotten into a re-match, except this time the weapons were alcoholic, and the prize was simple bragging rights.

Unfortunately for Timothy, this time, the advantage went to his opponent.

The young man from the Balfour Family had never been good with alcohol, while it seemed Gabriel could hold his own with the greatest of drunkards, so it wasn’t long before one slightly intoxicated young man was lifting his arms and roaring in victory, while a totally sloshed young man was lying on the floor with his eyes spinning.

The following morning, Timothy’s hangover was so terrible he couldn’t even get out of bed, causing him to swear vengeance against the bastard who had put him in this terrible position.

But that, would have to wait.

First, he needed to recover, then accept his ’prize’, something both Timothy and Danika were very much looking forward to; after all, it wasn’t every day you get a lesson with a living legend from your kingdom.

.....

2 days later, inside one of the Manor’s best training rooms, 4 people stood.

Or rather, 2 adults stood while 2 youths lay on their backs, breathing heavily as they tried to not pass out.

"Is that all you’ve got?" Former Queen Ariana asked flatly.

Gritting their teeth, both Timothy Balfour and Danika Emerson forced themselves up despite their bodies screaming in protest.

Seeing the two promising youths get back on their feet, the Royal Ancestor smiled faintly in approval. Their legs might be shaking, and their weapons may be one tap away from slipping through their fingers, but they were up, which showed they still had fight left in them.

Glancing over at the other younger woman she had invited to participate in today’s lesson, Ariana gave a small nod, and with that, the beating continued.
