Seara thought the beast finally snapped, and he was going to kill her. But that was not what happened.

As the beast pressed her down, his attention was not on her; he growled at someone at the door, and when Seara craned her neck to follow the beast’s line of sight, she saw two beasts like Zade.

The tension filled the basketball court all of a sudden as the two beasts moved closer to them, circling Zade and Seara, the same way Zade had done to her earlier.

But this time, Seara didn’t feel the hesitation from the two beasts; they were ready to attack. They must be the two Lycan kings who were trying to take Zade down because they saw him as a threat now that he had lost control over his beast side.

"No! Don’t!" Seara tried to push the beast’s leg away from her chest, but he pushed her down harder, leaving Seara unable to move. "No, please! Don’t, don’t attack him!"

From the corner of her eye, Seara saw Ace and Zephyr finally catch up; they were still in their beast forms.

They stopped attacking Altair and Asher for a while when they saw that Seara was under Zade’s beast.

"Ace! Zephyr! Tell them not to attack! I can calm him down. Tell them to step back!" Seara was frantic. She grabbed the beast’s leg as if she could stop him from attacking by doing so. "Tell them to back down!" Seara was upset.

And as if the beast could feel her frustration, he bared his fangs at the two beasts that circled them.

Meanwhile, from a distance, she could hear the siren from the police cars. They were going to find them here. It would be easy to track them down, since Seara must have left a trace of her blood behind.

"Ace! Zephyr! Tell them to stand down!" Seara was angry now. "Stand down, you ugly beasts! Are you stupid!? He doesn’t try to attack me! Can’t you understand what I say?! Are you deaf?!" In her aggravation, Seara cursed at them, surprising not only the beasts but also the wolves.

Zephyr was the first person who shifted into his human form. He was disheveled and had stains of blood on him.

"Stop it, okay. The police can be here in any minute; why don’t we let her try? She is his mate; I think she can do something." Zephyr kept his distance from Zade and Seara, while Ace was ready to make a move if they tried to attack Zade or Zephyr.

Asher then shifted back into his human form, and Seara was relieved to see that, but he kept a good distance from Zade, just in case Zade saw this as an opportunity to attack him.

"What can you do? You can’t even shift into your beast, if I am not mistaken." Asher was not in good shape either; he was not in a good mood, and he looked worn out.

His white shirt had turned a dark red. It could be from his own wound or the blood from his opponent.

For shifters, they didn’t ruin their clothes during the shifting; therefore, when they shifted back into their human form, their clothes were still intact.

"Please, he doesn’t attack me." From her position, Seara had a hard time looking at Asher, but she could hear his voice just fine.

"That’s not how I see it. You literally cover in blood. Well, if you want to attempt suicide, go ahead. I need to take a break after chasing him." Asher then sat down on the bench.

He mind-linked Altair, who was still in his beast form.

[Come here, and see what she can do. I am tired.]

[Do you think she can handle him?]

[She is his mate. Even if he kills her, it doesn’t affect me in any way.] Asher stretched out his body. [It’s simply too bad; it’s so sad if she dies.]

Altair said nothing, but Asher could feel that he disagreed with him. Still, he shifted back into his human form, and he was almost the same shape as Asher.

When Ace saw that the two Lycans had shifted back into their human forms, he also shifted. He stood next to Zephyr.

With that, four men were standing there, watching to see what Seara would do to get Zade back. She was right when she said Zade didn’t attack her, but the black beast did not look friendly, either.

And now, put in the spotlight and lightheaded because she was still bleeding, Seara had to find a way to calm Zade down.

"Zade, shift back, please." Seara caressed his muzzle; she was having a hard time pushing herself up from the floor because his leg still pressed her down. "Shift back, Zade."

Seara was trying to coax him, and even though everyone there could see he was less tense than before, she had to do it quickly because in the distance, they could hear the police had arrived at the building and there were a lot of them.

"Girl, if you have other magic to get him back, do it now. We are running out of time," Asher said and then nodded at Zephyr. "You, the gamma. Go out there and lure them away. It will buy time."

"I have a name," Zephyr replied in annoyance. He didn’t like being ordered by a different Lycan, but Asher was right.

"Sorry, forgot your name. I am getting old, you know."

Asher was almost the same age as Zade, though he was the youngest among the three, while Altair was the oldest.

Zephyr was annoyed, but it was Ace who told him to drop it and go ahead.

However, it was too late; they sensed the police officers were already at the door. Zephyr wouldn’t be able to stir them away before they could see Zade.

"Girl, do something. This will be bloody if those police officers enter the room," Altair grunted.
