Claimed by the Mad Lycan King

Chapter 48: WHAT TRIGGERED HER?

"I think it’s good for her to confront her fear," Jane said through the phone as Zade told her the situation. "And Zade, don’t call me in the middle of the night, seriously. You interrupted my beauty sleep," Jane grumbled.

"I need to wait until Seara falls asleep," Zade replied as he played with Seara’s hair. His mate was sleeping close to him, snuggled against his chest.

This afternoon, Chloe came, and Zephyr had told him everything that happened. It seemed that Chloe had run away from her pack again and came here.

Ace had called Alpha Lachland about her daughter’s behavior and strengthened the security around the pack to ban her from entering the residence.

"It sounds so ambiguous; it feels as if we were having an affair." Jane shuddered with the thought.

Zade ignored the comment. He stared down at Seara’s sleeping face and caressed her cheek. "I want you to come as well. We are going to leave in two days."

And with that, Zade cut off the phone call and pulled Seara closer to him. Her body felt so soft but perfect in his arms.

"Sleep well." Zade squeezed her body lightly, and Seara moaned softly in response.

He was dying to know who Sybill actually was, since Seara talked about her excitedly and in detail. But she was the only one who knew about Sybill’s existence; even that damned alpha didn’t know.

Aside from Seara, no one else had entered the cell, and all of them confirmed that. Zephyr had gone back to the hut as well, but he found nothing.

In that case, even if they went there later, what could they find?

As a matter of fact, Zade had his own suspicion... but for the sake of his sanity, he wouldn’t make a rash conclusion, especially after Seara told him what they had done to Sybill.

***

The next day, Seara was woken up and found herself alone, but she heard the sound of water from the bathroom, so it meant Zade might be there. She stretched out her body and sat down on the bed as she stared at her long hair.

Her hair was so long that it reached her thigh, not to mention the curls. Every morning she would look as if she would flap away with her hair, since it created a cotton-like shape. It was frizzy and tangled.

When Chloe mentioned her hair, Seara paid close attention to it. Even though Zephyr had said that her hair was fine, the comfort didn’t last for long.

And now, whenever she saw her reflection in the mirror, she would find something that she didn’t like. Not only her hair, but also the freckles across her nose and cheeks, her dull eyes, and the shape of her face.

The more Seara stared in the mirror, the more she found how upsettingly ugly she was. Why couldn’t she be like Chloe? She looked perfect. Her skin was unblemished, and she had shiny hair. She was wearing a nice dress that fit her perfectly...

Seara couldn’t stop herself; these thoughts were like poison for her. The more she wanted to stop it, the more she compared herself to Chloe.

How her body looked so perfect! She had curves in the right places, while Seara only saw bones on her body: her flat chest, her protruding collarbones and cheekbones, and her skinny fingers.

Everything was wrong with her body. There was nothing good about her.

And now, her fingers tangled in the knot of her hair, and that broke her down. Seara started tugging at her frizzy hair harder.

"Why is it so messy?" She hissed to herself as she tugged even harder, and a few strands of her hair were pulled out.

However, due to the nature of her hair, of course, it would be very disheveled in the morning as her fingers combed another knot and more.

Seara suddenly felt rage. She was so angry that she started to scream in frustration. She looked around her and found a pair of scissors on the table.

Without a second thought, she rushed to grab it.

But before she could get it, someone had snatched the scissors away from her reach, and when Seara looked up, it was Zade, who had taken away the scissors.

"Give it to me," Seara said with hostility.

"No," Zade said sternly. He heard her screaming and immediately got out of the bathroom. He was still drenched, and water dripped from his wet hair.

The Lycan king was only wearing a towel that hung low on his hips, but his piercing blue eyes stared at his mate firmly.

"Give it to me! Give it to me! Give it to me!" Seara screamed at Zade because he had taken away the thing she wanted.

She had to cut off her hair. She had to get rid of the annoying knots. Why was her hair curly instead of straight like Chloe’s? She wouldn’t look so messy in the morning with knots on her curls. She should get rid of it; the sooner the better.

"GIVE IT BACK TO ME!" Seara screamed at the top of her lungs; she looked as if she were going to attack Zade in her rage. "GIVE IT BACK!"

And Seara attacked Zade; she hit him and clawed at his face as she did before. She looked feral. If only she still had her wolf spirit, it would go without saying that Zade would suffer from the attack. He would be seriously injured.

However, Zade didn’t do anything; he just let Seara do what she wanted with him, but he kept the scissors away from her reach.

"Give it back! Give it back!"

Zade was unfazed when Seara slapped him so hard that her nails dug into his cheek and left a trail of blood. She paused for a second when she saw that, but then she started attacking him again.

Just when Zade thought Seara’s condition was improving, she spiraled down. What triggered her? She was fine yesterday.
