The next morning, Seara woke up when she felt someone was braiding her hair. She didn’t even need to open her eyes to know it was Zade.
"Good morning, beautiful." Zade knew Seara was awake simply by the change in her breathing.
He had been waiting for her to wake up for an hour. He tried to wake her up by kissing her lightly and calling her name, but Seara was still sleeping; therefore, he braided her hair while waiting for her to wake up.
Seara’s hair was already very long; it had passed her thigh, and with her curls, whenever she woke up, it would look like a lion’s mane.
Usually, Zade would style it, but if he didn’t, Seara would gather her hair on top of her head and tie it into a simple bun.
When she woke up, Zade managed to make eleven small braids.
"What are you doing?" Seara rubbed her sleepy face.
"Doing my hobby."
Seara laughed at the answer, and it brought a smile to the Lycan king. He leaned over to kiss her, but she covered her mouth before he could do it.
"Morning breath," Seara said sheepishly, yet Zade planted a kiss on the back of her hand anyway.
"I don’t mind." He kissed her forehead and peppered her face with kisses, though Seara still covered her mouth.
"I will freshen up." She pushed his face away because she had learned it wouldn’t be over soon if she let him kiss her as he pleased.
"Sure, I want to take you somewhere."
"Where?" Seara grabbed Zade’s front shirt to get up into a sitting position.
"Go and freshen up." He pecked her lips when he saw the opportunity.
Fifteen minutes later, Seara was ready. She was wearing jeans and a blue shirt, but she put on Zade’s jacket too, the one that he had worn before, because his scent was still there. She liked it because his scent soothed her.
"I want to take you around the residence. If it is too much for you, tell me, okay?" Zade folded the sleeves of his jacket because it was too long for Seara, yet she insisted on wearing his, despite having countless other jackets.
"Okay." Her heart was beating so fast because of nervousness, but she wouldn’t turn down the chance to have a simple walk with Zade.
Moreover, it was nothing like when she went out to the coffee shop for the first time and bought her own drink.
A simple walk around the residence wouldn’t be that nerve-wracking.
The sun was not so hot, and there were countless trees around the residence, so they could walk under their shadow.
Seara knew the house that she was living in was only a bungalow within the king’s residence, while the main building was still half an hour away if she wanted to walk there.
Ace and Zephyr, as the royal beta and gamma, had their own houses close to the main building. There were also some more buildings for the omegas and the warriors.
The bungalow that Seara lived in was not the only one, either; therefore, you could imagine how big the area was.
And Seara just realized it when she walked with Zade. He even had a small forest, where Reaper and the other wild wolves lived. It was almost like Zade turned the forest into a conservation area for the wild wolves.
Now, Zade took her there; he wanted to show her the wolves in the wild.
"Tired?" Zade asked after they walked for fifteen minutes.
"No, I like it," Seara replied. Jane told her to exercise so it could be counted as one, right?
There was a walkway that you could follow and some direction to prevent someone from going astray. But actually, all the signs were just put up a month ago; all of the people within the residence knew their way around, so they didn’t need them.
However, Zade wanted to make sure that Seara wouldn’t go astray, even though the possibility was so little, since he wouldn’t leave her alone without anyone looking after her.
When they reached the end of the walkway, they headed to the edge of the forest, where the walkway turned into a trail. The trail led them deeper into the forest.
Because it was close to afternoon, the density of the trees that canopied them didn’t make the area too dark and gloomy; instead, it felt magical for Seara.
The rays of light filtering through the leaves were beautiful. Seara thought she had only seen this in movies. Not even the Blackthorne Pack, the small pack on the other side of the country, had this kind of forest.
"Do you like it?" Zade watched Seara beaming; she looked around, fascinated.
"Yes." Seara smiled widely at her mate. She felt as if her heart were going to burst with happiness. This was surreal.
The forest was obviously vast, but Seara was not anxious because of the density of the trees. Moreover, there were signs around here as well, which helped her not get lost if one day she wanted to come here alone.
"Thank you, Zade." Seara squeezed his arm because she didn’t know how to show her appreciation toward him.
"Kiss me if you really thank me," Zade teased her, but Seara took it seriously.
She grabbed the front of his shirt and tiptoed, but because Zade refused to bend down, she couldn’t reach him and tried to climb on him.
"I feel like I am trying to climb a tree," Seara said with a frown, and it made Zade chuckle.
"If you ask me nicely, maybe I will make it easy for you."
"It’s you who asked for a kiss, right?"
"Right, my bad." Zade then leaned over and let Seara wrap her arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss.
The neck was a sensitive spot for shifters, as they wouldn’t let anyone touch them there, but Zade looked relaxed when it was Seara who touched him there.
