Ray washed his face in the bathroom first, cold water slapping the last of the sofa-sleep off him. When he came out, Milady was already standing by the open hatch like she’d been waiting the whole time.

"Move," she said.

They went down together. The stairs were narrow, concrete, lit by a strip of pale light that felt way too clean for a house that looked like an anime merch shrine upstairs. Ray’s mouth fell open the second the bunker opened up.

The place was bigger than it had any right to be. Smooth walls, quiet air system, a second room off to the side. Under a weeb house, he thought. A whole-ass bunker under a weeb house.

"Say that out loud and I’ll throw you back on the sofa," Milady snapped without even turning around.

Ray winced. "I didn’t say anything."

"You thought it loud enough."

She pushed open the side room. Ray stepped in and stopped cold.

The streaming setup was complete. Dual monitors, decent cam, ring light, mic on an arm, sound panels on the wall, even a chair that actually looked comfortable. Not some cheap bedroom streamer kit. This was built on purpose.

Ray looked at her. Milady didn’t explain. She just stood there with her arms folded, face unreadable.

Ray already had the suspicion sitting in his chest. "...You were gonna be a livestreamer?"

Milady’s eyes flicked to him. "Yes. What’s wrong with me having a dream once?"

Ray shook his head and let out a short laugh. "You’re already too weird. You got money, you got a cafe, and your day job is messing with people’s heads. This? This ain’t even that weird anymore."

Milady didn’t argue. She turned toward the stairs.

"Do whatever you want now," she said. "By the way, I already took half your balance."

Ray froze. "What?"

This time he was actually shocked. Not the usual annoyed-shocked. Real shocked.

"How the hell did you—"

"Secret," Milady said, already climbing. Then she was gone, hatch hissing shut above him.

Ray stood alone in the bunker room with a full streaming rig and half his money missing. No answer. Again.

He dropped into the chair and stared at the dark monitors.

This was weird. All of it. A bunker under an anime house. A girl who used to dream about streaming. Rent collected before he even sat down.

Then he thought about the rest of her. If Milady could hack federal security institutions, lifting half a dormant livestream balance probably wasn’t even a warm-up.

Ray leaned back, exhaled, and muttered to the empty room.

"Yeah. Okay. That tracks."

Ray sat in the bunker chair, fired up the thick phone, and opened X first. He typed a short post.

Going live in a bit. I’m okay. I’ll explain.

Then he hit the stream.

For a second the room was dead quiet. Empty viewer count. Empty chat. Just the soft hum of the bunker air system and his own face on the monitor.

Then the number jumped.

Viewers stacked so fast the counter looked broken. Subs started hitting. Chat exploded.

THANK GOD YOU’RE ALIVE

BRO WE THOUGHT YOU GOT GRABBED

RAY YOU GOOD??

WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN

Ray leaned toward the mic and kept his voice steady.

"I’m fine. For real. I’m good."

The chat didn’t calm down. A bunch of people were already locked on the kidnapping theory. Secret org. Foreign party. Government lying. Same circus from last night.

Ray shook his head.

"I wasn’t kidnapped. I left my apartment because I got doxxed. That’s it. Somebody dumped my info and I didn’t feel safe staying there. I don’t know who did it."

He did know. He just also knew exactly what the public wanted to hear. Fear plus sympathy was free fuel.

"A friend helped me. I’m somewhere safe now. That’s all I can say."

Chat kept rolling.

So you’re really okay?

You hiding?

Is another weird phenomenon coming?

RAY BE HONEST

Then the worried ones piled in.

Bro I canceled my beach trip. Last time people started acting crazy I ain’t risking a random sex party breaking out on the sand.

I skipped Sunday service. What if mid-prayer everybody starts blaspheming like it’s normal? I’m not sitting through that.

Ray stared at the comments for a second. These people were scared of the exact kind of mess he could make with a few Alter Points. And here he was, the guy who built the new common sense with a wink in a Chinese restaurant, sitting under a weeb house selling them peace.

He smiled like none of that was on him.

"I don’t feel anything right now," he said. "No symptoms. No weird pressure. No sign another phenomenon’s about to drop. I’m good."

Chat wanted a guarantee. He didn’t give one. He gave them a softer lie.

"If I start feeling something off, I’ll say it. I’ll stay active. I’ll stay tuned. That’s why I want y’all to follow this X account. If anything starts moving, I’ll post here first."

The viewer count was still climbing. Donos were ticking in. People were just happy he was breathing on camera.

Ray leaned back in the chair, kept the calm face on, and watched the bunker lights reflect off the monitors.

Out there they thought he was a lucky survivor. Down here he was a broke tenant with half his old balance gone, a rent bill, and a clean lie sitting easy on his tongue.

Chat wouldn’t stop. Every time Ray answered one question, twenty more slammed in.

You really not kidnapped?

Who doxxed you?

You coming home or what?

That friend a girl?

Government lying or you lying?

You felt the last phenomenon before it hit?

Ray kept his face easy and his answers short.

"I left because my info got dumped. That’s the truth. I don’t know the person who did it. I’m not naming the friend. They’re the reason I’m safe, so I’m not dragging them into this circus."

Somebody typed: Bro be honest. You vanished the same week the city went crazy.

Ray nodded like he understood the fear.

"I get why y’all think that. I vanished. Then the fire guy showed up. Then the plant cult started locking burger shops. Timeline looks ugly. But me leaving my apartment and those things popping off ain’t the same story."

A donation flashed.

Did you cancel your life too or just hide?

Ray huffed a small laugh.

"I didn’t cancel my life. I moved. Big difference. I’m eating. I’m sleeping. I’m talking to y’all right now. That’s not a hostage tape."

The worried comments came back harder.

Ray leaned closer to the mic.

"I hear you. I do. Last stretch was chaos. People changed overnight and nobody got a warning. If I was in your spot, I’d be scared too."

Then he sold the lie clean.

"But I don’t feel anything coming. No headache. No weird pressure. No sign the air’s about to flip. If I start feeling that again, I’ll say it here first. That’s why I need y’all following this account."

A cluster of comments jumped on Hime and Angelo.

You see that TV debate??

Holy Fire vs Mother Earth is actually happening

You picking a side?

You think they’re fake?

Ray scratched his jaw and played it careful.

"I saw the clip. Studio almost burned down. That’s all I know from the same videos y’all saw. I’m not picking a side from a bunker chair."

Somebody hit him with the dangerous one.

You got a power too or you just lucky?

Ray didn’t freeze. He smiled like the question was dumb.

"If I could shoot fire or grow a forest out my pocket, I wouldn’t be answering chat in a closed room. I’d be on every thumbnail already."

The count kept climbing. People just wanted him talking. Wanted the missing guy to keep proving he was still a person.

You coming back to your old place?

You gonna meet Karl?

You saw his tweet?

He opened a comedy club off your name bro

Ray’s mouth twitched.

"I saw it. Karl’s doing his thing. I’m glad he’s moving. That’s all I’m saying on that tonight."

He let the Q&A run until the questions started looping. Same fears. Same theories. Same please-don’t-let-the-world-break-again.

Then Milady’s voice cut through his head. Control the narrative. Don’t sit here looking like dead weight. Make them need your next sentence.

Ray looked at the camera and let the thought out like it just occurred to him.

"Can I say something weird without y’all jumping me?"

Chat said yes before he finished.

"All of this feels random. Too random. Hime gets plant stuff and turns it into a church. Angelo gets fire and turns it into holy judgment. Why those two? Why those powers? Why now?"

He tapped the desk once.

"What if it’s not God and it’s not nature? What if some entity is handing abilities to people through objects? Through a draw. Through a lottery. You touch the wrong thing, you pull the wrong prize, and suddenly you can rewrite a piece of the world."

The chat stalled, then detonated.

LOTTERY POWERS??

LIKE A GACHA FOR HUMANS

THAT WOULD EXPLAIN THE RANDOMNESS

SO THERE’S MORE OF THEM HIDING??

Ray nodded slow.

"That’s the part that bothers me. If Hime and Angelo went public, how many people got something and stayed quiet? Somebody with a power that don’t look cinematic. Somebody who decided fame is a trap. They could be sitting in a normal house right now, watching this, hoping nobody ever looks their way."

He sat back, let that hang, and kept his face honest enough to sell it.

He knew the slot machine was real. He knew the draw wasn’t a theory. But the public didn’t need the machine. They needed a story that made the chaos feel like it had a shape.

"I’m not saying I got proof," Ray said. "I’m saying the pattern’s ugly. Random gifts. Loud users. Quiet ones we ain’t met yet. If that’s the game, then the next phenomenon might not come from the two people already on TV."

He pointed at the camera.

"Follow the account. If I notice something, I’ll talk. If I notice nothing, I’ll still talk. That’s the deal."

Down in the bunker, the lie and the truth were sitting in the same chair. The viewers thought he was guessing. Ray was just aiming the spotlight anywhere except the junk machine that started all of it.
