"Mm... looks like the fever really has gone down."
The late morning sunlight slanted into the room. On the soft bed, Fuyuji Mikage tilted his head up slightly, one hand touching his own forehead, the other feeling Morishita Ai's forehead. Still somewhat uncertain, he finally leaned forward and pressed his forehead directly against hers, trying hard to compare the difference in their body temperatures.
"No problem. Ai, blessed with the forest's protection, possesses recovery power far exceeding that of ordinary people."
Morishita sat in a duck pose before Fuyuji, tilting her pretty face up slightly, her voice brimming with confidence.
"Also, I already took my temperature with the thermometer just now."
A thermometer was held out in front of him. The red digits on the electronic screen had settled at 36.8—indeed within the normal temperature range.
"Are you sure you don't need to rest a bit more?"
Wrapping an arm around Morishita's soft waist once more, Fuyuji felt the warmth of her body through the thin fabric and asked again.
"Fuyuji Mikage, you're so annoying." Her cheek squished flat against his chest, Morishita pushed at him with disdain and rapidly patted his thigh, urging, "Hurry up, hurry up! Let's go on the date, go on the date!"
"But I still haven't figured out where to go?"
"Whatever. We'll decide once we get there."
With that, without waiting for Fuyuji's reply, Morishita was the first to leave the bed, pulling him quickly toward the bathroom.
"Let's go, let's go. Wash up first, then eat breakfast."
"Hey, hey, slow down a little. I haven't put on my shoes yet."
Before long, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.
Half an hour later, inside Fuyuji's room.
"Do we really have to leave my phone here to trick them?"
Already changed, Fuyuji clutched his phone and asked again uneasily. Unconsciously, a layer of cold sweat had formed on his back.
"I have a feeling that if they catch us, I'm going to die a very gruesome death."
Thinking about it now, this plan was a bit too thrilling. Sneaking away right under the noses of the three of them—Lady Morishita's courage was nothing short of extraordinary.
"We've come this far. What's the point of thinking about that now?" Morishita, carrying a small ladies' shoulder bag, urged him on, her black round-toed leather shoes kicking not too hard, not too softly against Fuyuji's calf.
Stirred by her movement, her pleated skirt fluttered lightly down. A pair of slender, perfectly straight legs extended from beneath it, wrapped in black stockings, the knees showing a hint of pink through the fabric—possessing an allure that made it impossible to tear one's gaze away.
As expected, black stockings suit Lady Morishita the best.
Fuyuji inwardly marveled in silence.
In the end, driven by the unquestionable look in Morishita's eyes, Fuyuji could only steel himself and place his phone on the conspicuously visible nightstand.
"Move out!"
Seeing that all preparations were complete, Morishita lowered her voice and, like a kitten preparing to sneak forward, was the first to pull open the door.
Her black leather shoes tapped lightly against the floor with soft clicks. As those legs, wrapped in fine black stockings, stepped forward, the subtle interplay of light and shadow created by the friction between her skirt hem and stockings made Fuyuji's heart skip several beats as he followed close behind.
The deserted corridor was so quiet that only the sound of the elevator could be heard. One could see straight to the end.
Throughout the journey, Fuyuji repeatedly glanced back over his shoulder, as if he expected to see, at any moment, Shiraishi Asuka with her shimmering eyes and faint smile, Yamamura Miki pitifully clutching her chest, and Kamuro Masumi wearing a look of utter contempt, fist clenched—all emerging from the end of the corridor.
And then, without any explanation, dragging him back to his room and making him wish he were dead.
Fortunately, all of this was merely an illusion born of Fuyuji's guilt over sneaking away.
Morishita deftly pressed the elevator's down button. With a "ding," the elevator doors slid open, and the two of them slipped inside together, making their way out of the dormitory without incident.
"Evacuation successful!"
The moment they stepped out of the dormitory building, Morishita immediately recovered her confident, energetic demeanor. With a wave of her small hand, she pointed toward the comprehensive complex shimmering under the sunlight in the distance.
"Target: Keyaki Mall! Move out!"
With that, like a young deer breaking free of its restraints, she took off with light, brisk steps toward the objective.
Fuyuji watched her pleated skirt flutter in the breeze and her blue-purple hair glisten under the sunlight. He shook his head helplessly and quickly strode forward to catch up. The sun warmed the back of his neck, cozy and pleasant.
...
When it comes to dates, if you were an ordinary person...
You'd probably pick a cafe, order a cup of coffee to start off with some casual chatter, share your respective interests, and once the mood was sufficiently warmed up, go shopping together. Then you'd find some mutual interests, have dinner, and finally wrap things up at a movie theater or an arcade.
Unfortunately... Fuyuji and Morishita fell entirely outside the category of ordinary people.
"For movies, it's gotta be Kamen Rider. MOVIE War CORE is a classic among classics—you can see 62 Kamen Riders in one go! Totally worth it!"
Morishita pointed at a poster on the tablet where the number of Kamen Riders appearing nearly rivaled half a year's worth of students, speaking with absolute conviction.
"Too shallow, Morishita-sama. When it comes to movies, the first thing to consider is whether you'll gain something meaningful from watching them. By that standard, Ultraman Legends is the true first choice."
Fuyuji leaned in closer, swiped a finger across the screen, and a towering, colorful giant appeared at the center of the display, correcting her with all seriousness.
In a school with at most a thousand students, the Keyaki Mall's movie theater was, to put it mildly, not exactly packed—it was practically deserted.
So, by paying just a tiny bit more in points, one could effectively reserve the entire theater and freely choose whatever movie they wanted to watch.
And so, the two, who had arrived at Keyaki Mall to wander around, predictably reached an impasse. The pair who had been holding hands just moments ago had, in the blink of an eye, returned to their usual state of locking horns.
"Kamen Rider!" Morishita stepped forward, staring straight into Fuyuji's eyes.
"Ultraman da!" Fuyuji refused to back down, likewise stepping forward and fixing his gaze on that face which showed little emotional fluctuation.
For a moment, bolts of lightning seemed to crackle and intertwine between their eyes once again.
Morishita struck first: "Morishita-sama was sick today. Fuyuji Mikage has to give in to me!"
"Didn't you say you were already better?" Fuyuji raised an eyebrow.
"Ninety-nine percent better." Morishita held up her fingers to indicate a tiny sliver of distance and declared matter-of-factly, "If I don't get to watch the movie I want, that progress will whoosh right back down to thirty percent."
That's one awfully convenient illness! Fuyuji didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Then..." Fuyuji's tone softened, "How about we watch both?"
"In that case... after we finish watching Kamen Rider, I want to eat ice cream." Morishita seized the opportunity to put forward her demand.
Fuyuji held up a single finger. "Only one."
"Deal!"
...
From the back, looking out across the theater, the entire cinema was submerged in dense darkness. Only the central screen flickered with pale blue-white beams, illuminating the sparse outlines of the front rows of seats and the dust motes suspended in the air.
The tokusatsu film's intense explosions, the hum of energy beams, and the thunderous clash of metal echoed through the surround sound in the empty auditorium. Paired with the dazzling light effects, it effortlessly pulled one into that bizarre and fantastical world.
The blue giant on the screen was very cool, radiating a mysterious, dazzling light from head to toe.
Yet Fuyuji's attention was nowhere near it. He absently stole glances from the corner of his eye at the girl beside him, immersed in the light and shadow.
The sweet, cloying scent of caramel popcorn drifted faintly through the chilled air.
He stealthily began his own maneuver... his knuckles curled slightly, his hand creeping inch by inch toward the armrest on his right.
It was instead Morishita, who had initially shown no interest, who now watched the screen with wide, unblinking eyes, all kinds of light and shadow flickering across her face. From time to time, she popped a few pieces of popcorn into her mouth.
"Why did Zero suddenly get so weak?" Morishita asked out of the blue.
The hand that had been halfway extended abruptly halted, then withdrew with the utmost naturalness.
"Well, that..." Fuyuji's expression remained perfectly normal as he offered a perfunctory reply. "Probably the protagonist halo wore off, I guess."
I mean, that rabbit alien took down practically the entire Monster Graveyard's worth of kaiju in his own movie. And now he was getting beaten to a pulp and howling.
Morishita nodded and said nothing more. The two fell back into silence.
Seeing this, Fuyuji's demonic claw, which had paused moments ago, resumed its operation. Slowly and soundlessly, it crept toward Morishita's small hand resting on the armrest. His warm palm completely enveloped her slightly cool hand, his fingertips gently slipping into the soft gaps between her fingers.
The instant their palms touched, both of them seemed to stiffen for a brief moment.
"Cough, cough." Fuyuji cleared his throat, his expression somewhat grave. "Morishita-sama's hand is a little cold. To prevent the cold from coming back, allow me to check Morishita-sama's temperature."
Turning her head, Morishita silently fixed her gaze on him for a moment. A tiny murmur escaped her pink, glossy lips:
"Coward..."
Not waiting for Fuyuji to respond, Morishita abruptly stood up, popcorn bucket in hand, shifted two steps sideways, and—her skirt tracing a graceful arc—sat herself right in Fuyuji's lap.
In that instant.
The weight and warmth of her body transmitted themselves without reservation, igniting every nerve beneath his skin far more clearly than the tentative touches back in the room.
A strand of deep blue hair brushed past his chin, carrying her fresh, post-rain forest-like scent, mingled with the sweetness of popcorn, dominating all his senses with irresistible force.
The most lethal part was those legs clad in fine black stockings. With a soft clatter, her round-toed leather shoes slipped off, and they naturally settled atop his legs. The faintly friction-laden texture of the stockings, through the thin fabric of his pants, carried an astonishing elasticity and warmth, searing directly onto his skin.
"The AC is blasting so hard in here, and Morishita-sama's illness only just got better." Morishita shook her head, lifting two pieces of popcorn to Fuyuji's lips. "Honestly, Fuyuji Mikage has no perceptiveness at all."
Swallowing the popcorn in one bite, Fuyuji nodded gravely, pulled Morishita's soft body tighter into his embrace, and made a self-criticism.
"To have utterly failed to notice the temperature here, putting the adorable Morishita-sama at risk of catching a cold again—I truly deserve to die a thousand deaths!"
Morishita closed her eyes and nodded in satisfaction. "As long as you—" Her gently swinging calf suddenly stiffened. A flush of crimson instantly soaked through her cheeks, even tinting her earlobes with pink. Her voice quivered. "Nn... pervert Fuyuji Mikage, what are you doing?"
A large hand had already come to rest upon those black-stocking-clad thighs that Fuyuji had been obsessing over for so long. As if imbued with magic, it roamed freely across that incomparably exquisite texture.
"Isn't it obvious? This humble servant is conducting warming operations for Morishita-sama. Friction generates heat, you see~"
Fuyuji lowered his head and gently took the rounded lobe of Morishita's ear between his lips, savoring it delicately.
He could clearly feel the astonishing smoothness and warm elasticity of the girl's thigh. Every stroke brought the subtle feedback of that warm, soft skin slightly indenting beneath the stockings before rebounding.
His palm traced along that beautiful curve—from the plump, soft outer thigh, sliding past the sensitive hollow above her knee, to the sleek line of her calf. Finally, with infinite reluctance, his fingertips lightly teased the tips of her stockings, where her delicate, lovely toes were wrapped. Those toes, wriggling faintly as if trying to escape, tickled his heart to an unbearable degree.
Absolutely impossible to resist!
"Pervert Fuyuji Mikage..." Morishita buried her burning face deeper into his chest. Her fingers clutched the fabric of his shirt tightly. Her body curled up like a shy kitten. Her voice came out muffled and accusatory. "No wonder, from the moment we met, you've stared at Morishita-sama's legs far more often than at other girls... So now, you're finally showing your true colors and revealing your wicked intentions, is that it?"
"Yes!"
Fuyuji, drunk on the ultimate sensation of that silk-wrapped delicacy and softness, declared with righteous fervor. "Morishita-sama is simply too cute. I've been muttering this to myself since the very first day I met Morishita-sama."
"Just cute? That's all?" Morishita pounded his chest with mild indignation. "Blind Fuyuji Mikage actually failed to notice Morishita-sama's sexy side?!"
Fuyuji: "..."
The silence lasted only a brief moment. "Well, that..." Fuyuji's gaze swept past Morishita's modest chest. With the utmost sincerity, he assured her, "I'll work hard on that in the future!"
"What are you so smug about?! You actually dare to underestimate Morishita-sama?!" Instantly comprehending his meaning, Morishita erupted in fury. She twisted her waist and, with a nimble shift, straddled Fuyuji's lap.
"Isn't it enough that I think Morishita-sama is the cutest?" Fuyuji tilted his head back, his hands instinctively supporting her slender waist, feeling the smooth fabric of her skirt and the warmth of her body beneath his palms.
"No, it's not enough!"
"Then... we can continue later?"
"...Fine. But first, I'm going to pay you back for just now. Mere Fuyuji Mikage."
With that, Morishita wrapped her arms around his neck and slowly leaned in...
At the center of the screen in the front rows, the legendary giant Saga, said to represent miracles, appeared in all his radiant glory at the very center of the display. That towering figure, the dazzling, iridescent light shining from his entire being—everything about him conveyed his overwhelming power.
When the light swept past the back rows, it only illuminated the bobbing of the young man's Adam's apple and the burning flush of the young woman's cheeks. The salvation light of the legendary giant... had ultimately fallen in defeat beneath Lady Morishita's skirt.
