Chapter 22: The secrets of blood

The room remained silent, and Takakura carefully sealed the metallic container holding Abel’s blood.Click. The sound echoed.

Abel folded his arms. "...That’s it?"

Takakura nodded. "Yes, that’s it."

Abel stared. "These few drop only?"

Takakura ruminated, "Yes... yes, soon it shall be mine.""Yes, these drop...so stop being so desperate for me to take your blood," Takakura added.

Jean shook his head. "I still think that’s weird."

Takakura ignored him as he thought, "Shut up, you ignorant fool."

His eyes remained fixed on the container as the small crimson droplet rested motionless inside.

"To anyone else, this might look ordinary, but to me, this... this could be worth billions... perhaps even more," Takakura thought.

He slid the container into a protective case.

Abel frowned. "So what now?"

Takakura adjusted his glasses. "Now I leave." He pondered, "I need to get this to the lab quickly."

"...Just like that?" Abel replied.

"Yes," said Takakura.

Abel looked irritated. "You made me cut myself for ten seconds of work."

"Technically twelve," Jean added.

Abel groaned as Takakura turned toward the exit.

His expression remained calm. "Whether this blood contains the answers I’m looking for..." A pause. "...We’ll know soon enough."

Without another word, he left the room as the metal door closed behind him.

Silence followed after that.

Abel stared at the door. "...I don’t trust that guy."

Jean nodded. "I guess you would have your reasons not to"

Several hours later...

A black vehicle moved through the city streets.

Rain tapped softly against the windows. Takakura sat alone in the rear seat, the metallic case resting beside him.

His eyes remained fixed on it. "Years. Years of work. Years of failure, and yet no answers."

Takakura leaned back. "...Felix." The name lingered in the silence.

"Few people knew this... Even fewer understood its significance, but I do... because years ago, before Felix temporarily vanished, he had worked under Jack Pumedow, and during that time...

Felix created a miracle....research that should have changed everything.

And I spent a fortune trying to obtain it... Entire facilities had been built around it.

Teams of elite scientists had dedicated years to studying it.

Yet none of them could replicate the serum.

Not once. Not even by accident like he said he did."

Takakura exhaled slowly. "...How did you do it?"

"This question had haunted me for years...

The formulas were there, the notes were there, the procedures that he had taken were there.

And yet something was always missing.

Something critical, something Felix had never written down.

A secret... A piece of information known only to him."

Takakura looked toward the rain-covered window. "...What are you hiding?"

The city lights reflected across the glass.

One hour later...

A heavily secured research complex with steel doors, biometric scanners, and armed security. The kind of facility that cost millions simply to operate.

Takakura stepped inside, and scientists immediately approached him.

Waiting. Watching.

One of them spoke first. "Sir."

Takakura handed over the metallic case to the man. "I want a complete analysis."

The scientist accepted it carefully.

"Immediately," Takakura barked.

"No assumptions."

"Understood," the scientist said.

"No shortcuts," Takakura ordered.

"Understood," the scientist obeyed.

"And if you find anything unusual..." A pause. "...I want to know first," Takakura ordered.

The scientist nodded. "Of course."

Takakura turned and walked toward an observation room overlooking the laboratory.

The work began immediately.

The blood sample was transferred. It was scanned, analyzed, and examined.

Hours passed, then even more hours passed. It was now nighttime.

Then finally, one of the researchers froze. "...Wait."

Several others gathered around. "What is it?"

The scientist zoomed in, and the room slowly became quiet. "...That shouldn’t be possible."

Another researcher frowned. "What shouldn’t?"

The scientist pointed at the monitor, and everyone stared.

"The sample is abnormal. Not visibly, not chemically, but something deeper... something hidden," the scientist said.

A third scientist shook his head. "No... No way."

Takakura watched from above, his eyes narrowed.

One researcher finally spoke. "...We found it."

The room became still, and Takakura immediately stood.

"What did you find?" Takakura asked.

The scientists exchanged glances. The lead researcher looked up. "...That’s the problem." A pause. "...We don’t know."

Silence.

Takakura’s expression hardened. "What do you mean... you don’t know?"

The scientist swallowed. "We can see evidence that something exists inside the sample."

Another researcher nodded. "But we can’t identify it."

A third researcher spoke. "It doesn’t match anything in our databases. No known organism, no known compound, and no known biological catalyst."

The room fell silent.

Takakura stared through the glass. He spoke, his voice low. "Years... Years of research, and still..."

His expression hardened. "Nothing!!"

He grabbed the chair he was sitting on and threw it.

The lead scientist slowly shook his head. "...Whatever Felix used..." A pause. "...We’ve never seen anything like it."

Silence filled the laboratory.

And for the first time in years, Takakura smiled.

Not because he had found the answer, but because he finally knew one thing for certain.

"Felix had hidden something from everyone, and whatever that secret was... it was still beyond the reach of the world’s best scientists," Takakura thought.

Takakura stood up and said ,"I’m going back do not call me or text me unless you have information."
