Takakura’s hands shook as he moved away from Felix. "I can help you..I..i"
Felix didn’t respond.
Takakura swallowed. "I can give you resources."
Felix’s gaze stayed on him, unmoving.
"Information," Takakura added quickly.
Silence.
"Money... I can give you money."
Felix’s golden eyes didn’t shift. Takakura’s voice started to crack as he pointed toward the door. "Anything. I can get you anything you want...yes anything at all."
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then Felix laughed. It wasn’t loud, but it lingered longer than it should have.
Takakura stopped talking.
"You still don’t understand," Felix said quietly.
He stepped forward.
"You think this is about what I want."
Another step.
"You think this is a negotiation huh do you."
Takakura backed into the wall. "Felix... pl—"
"Do you remember them?" Felix cut in.
Takakura froze.
Felix tilted his head slightly. "The people you destroyed when you were building your empire."
He raised a hand to his face, dragging his fingers down slowly.
"My parents."
Silence pressed into the room.
"I remember seeing you in that boardroom," Felix continued. "You looked different. If I had known, I would have ended it there."
He took another step.
"But now... this works too because now I can make you suffer."
Takakura lowered his head. "I... I remember."
Felix studied him for a second. No reaction. No anger. Just observation.
"You took my parents," Felix said. "And you sent the only person I had left into a place he wasn’t meant to survive."
A pause.
"You’re fortunate he didn’t die otherwise I wouldn’t be so inclined to give you a clean death."
Takakura flinched.
Felix’s claws extended slowly, almost absentmindedly.
"You’ve taken plenty from others too, I assume."
Another step.
"In a way... this is efficient, think about it as atonement for all that you have done."
Takakura’s breathing grew unstable. "Please."
Felix stopped in front of him.
"Please what?" he asked, almost curious.
Takakura didn’t answer.
Felix’s expression didn’t change. "Run."
Takakura blinked.
"I’m giving you ten seconds," Felix said. "Use them."
"...Please," Takakura whispered again.
Felix didn’t react this time.
"Ten."
Takakura ran.
"Nine."
The number echoed through the corridor.
Takakura rushed into the guard’s locker room, grabbing a walkie-talkie and whatever weapons he could carry. He barricaded the door and dropped into a corner.
"All units, respond....Sector two. Now."
Static.
"Joel... Rose... respond."
Nothing.
"...Six."
Takakura’s grip tightened.
"...Five."
The walkie-talkie crackled. "Hello, sir."
Relief hit instantly. "Jones! Get to sector two, now!"
A pause.
"No."
Takakura froze.
"You used us," Jones said. "Today is the day that ends....today is judgment day plus Felix is scary."
The signal cut there and then
"...Three."
Takakura aimed every weapon he had at the door.
"...Two."
The door exploded inward.
Takakura fired blindly.
The bullets struck Felix and fell.
No resistance. No effect.
Felix wasn’t there anymore.
Takakura turned and a surge of pain followed.
He looked down.
Felix’s arm had gone straight through him.
Felix leaned in slightly. "May God be with you."
Takakura collapsed.
Felix watched him fall for a second.
Then, without urgency, he dropped to one knee and bit Takakura’s ear off as he thought, "guess it’s time to feed my body has taken over".
...
Two days later.
Felix sat in the command room, feet resting on Takakura’s desk. A cup of coffee sat untouched beside him.
The city glowed across the holographic display.
C stepped in. She looked tired. "Felix, we’ve secured all of Takakura’s assets."
No response came from Felix
She hesitated. "There’s an issue."
Felix picked up the cup and took a small sip. "Handle it."
"Several containment sectors are unstable."
"Then stabilize them."
C frowned slightly. "Half the staff are threatening to leave."
"Then replace them...they weren’t trust worthy even."
C studied him, "This wasn’t how he used to respond. Not wrong... just different." She thought.
"Abel left," she said. "He told us not to look for him."
Felix paused, just barely.
Then he set the cup down. "Haaa he doesn’t want to be followed huh...ok."
C blinked. "That’s it?"
Felix glanced at her. "He made his decision."
There was no edge in his voice. No irritation.
That made it worse.
C crossed her arms. "You’re supposed to care."
Felix didn’t answer immediately, "I do."
But he didn’t elaborate.
The room felt heavier.
After a moment, Felix leaned back slightly. "Anything else?"
C hesitated... then shook her head. "No."
She left.
...
Later.
Rose entered quietly.
Felix looked up. "You’re here."
Not surprise. Just acknowledgment.
"You don’t sound tooo happy to see me," she said.
Felix gave a faint smile. "I didn’t expect you that’s all."
They spoke briefly.
Then she left.
...
Hours later.
Joel Jones walked in.
Felix folded his hands together. "Status."
Joel smirked. "Messy but predictable."
Felix nodded once.
Joel glanced at the scattered documents. "What’s this?"
"Ownership transfers."
Joel’s expression shifted. "...You’re taking over?"
Felix leaned forward slightly. "Someone has to."
"Why you?"
Felix looked back at the city display.
"Because I understand what this place can do."
A pause.
"And what it shouldn’t have been used for."
Joel watched him carefully.
"Plus I’m working with Kim Jung....who has connections in Korea... I mean hearing his brother was now free brought him to tears and they went back to Korea" Felix said.
...
Elsewhere... far from the facility.
Rain continued to fall.
The battlefield remained silent.
Broken structures. Empty streets. Bodies left behind.
Nothing moved.
Then a twitch.
A severed arm lay among the rubble.
The fingers curled.
Slowly....Again and again as It dragged itself forward Inch by inch.
Flesh began forming as muscle wrapped around bone.
The shape expanded.
Hours passed, the hours turned into days.
Then half a torso formed, followed by the neck.
Then an eye....when the eye opened it was gold in colour.
The distant city reflected in it as the eye twitched in all directions.
