Kreyn pondered as he looked at his new ability.

’Alright, I want to do this right now. What are my options?’

The new system window appeared before him as the light in Kreyn’s eyes dimmed.

Kreyn blinked as confusion crossed his face. When he saw the description of his new ability, he immediately decided how he would use it. Orazit Crystal + Arms of the Red Banner - that was his plan.

"Just boots? Where are my mutations?"

[At this level, you cannot use Armory Infusion to upgrade Mutations. Only gear can be upgraded if you have the required materials.]

"Tsk. Why does everything always have to be so complicated?"

Then, he shook his head.

"Well... I don’t have any other choice. What exactly happens during the upgrade, and what are the conditions?"

Kreyn blinked as he appeared in the dark world before the Gene Forge with an anvil and a hammer waiting for him.

The boots hovered above the anvil, and soon a green light shone down from above.

Delight spread across Kreyn’s face as he watched the bright star amidst the darkness.

Like a hammer strike, the green light crashed down directly onto the boots, filling the space with a blinding flash.

A few moments later, Kreyn cautiously lowered his hand to see the result.

"Oh... I didn’t think the process would look like this, but who am I to complain, right?"

It wasn’t a full-fledged evolution like last time, so they were still the Mountain Wind Boots.

Still, their appearance had changed slightly.

Along the upper edge, the gray stone scales had been replaced by sharp, green crystals, and now and then, an energy pulse reminiscent of the flow of the Orazit Crystal ran through them.

Suddenly, a shout rang out from the side, shaking the dark world:

"Hey! What are you doing here?!"

Kreyn blinked, returning to the real world as his gaze fell on Nario, who entered the tent.

"Don’t you dare use the analyzer without permission! You’re too stupid for that!"

"Huh, chill out." Kreyn chuckled. He was in a good mood. "It’s not that hard, and you should already be up to speed on the news, shouldn’t you?"

Nario glanced to the side - the feast was still going on, and only now did he get a chance to join it. He’d been working at the trade gates.

"Yes." Nario nodded, puffing out his cheeks. "Two bright Orazit Crystals, and judging by that silly smirk of yours, they’re actually 99% pure."

Kreyn shrugged.

"Who knows? Leora hasn’t checked hers yet. Maybe she’ll have less luck than I did."

"Pffft! Dream on!" Nario snorted dismissively. "Leora’s crystal will definitely be better! I do not doubt it."

Kreyn was about to leave. He knew that even his good mood wouldn’t last long enough to put up with the annoying Nario.

"Wait." Nario stopped him. "That’s not all... Hargod knows what happened. He’s summoning you and Leora to see him."

"Oh, straight to the big boss? I should be flattered." Kreyn waved his hand dismissively.

Nario narrowed his eyes.

"Look, you can act all smart all you want, and someone like Garius or Arstar might even appreciate it, but not Hargod. He settles matters with force, always and everywhere, and his outbursts of anger are just as sudden as his fists."

Kreyn nodded slowly. He remembered what happened to Garius.

"Still, he’s our leader and the strongest among us. Without him, the Crooked Horn would have fallen long ago."

"Got it. Thanks," Kreyn replied curtly.

"Tsk. Shut up! I didn’t do this for you, but so Leora wouldn’t have any trouble because of you!"

Kreyn didn’t respond, only a smirk crossed his face as he stepped out of the tent.

He glanced back, meeting Leora’s gaze across the table.

It was time for them to go.

’Arstar...’ Kreyn pondered, standing in the walkway. ’While I’ve been working with Leora, Groza went to him. He’s the second captain, and Garius wants to be one of them... That could be a problem.’

Kreyn had already figured everything out regarding Leora and Hargod. He wasn’t ready yet, but their time would come, though he knew nothing about Arstar.

’I need to meet with Groza right after Hargod. Her day probably wasn’t as eventful as mine, but she had figured something out.’

Leora’s confident stride snapped him out of his thoughts as she stood before him.

"Ready?"

"Sure."

"I’ll say this up front - I’ll recount everything that happened at the chasm. I don’t lie about missions."

Kreyn gave her a long look.

"Fair enough."

Hargod was scratching his beard, sitting at a low table with crossed legs. Across from him were Leora and Kreyn with bottles of cold beer.

"So 99% Orazit, and possibly you found their nest? Huh... Now that’s news."

His gaze fell on Kreyn.

"It’s your first day here, and so much has already happened. I knew it - I could feel it! Hahaha!"

Suddenly, his joy and laughter gave way to coldness and gloom as his expression grew heavier.

"But... even if you clear the breach, you won’t be able to go any further, right?"

Leora nodded deeply.

"We took care of the black rahta beast, but that blue one... I couldn’t take more than one hit. I doubt even the two of us together could beat it."

"Good."

A broad smirk spread across Hargod’s face as his massive fists clenched, veins bulging.

"It’s been a while since I’ve fought anyone strong. I’ve got to have some work to do, after all! Hahaha!"
