BAM!

Two fists collided, sending a shockwave through the air.

If Leora dared to land such a direct blow against the Blue Beast, her arm would, at best, be broken.

But Hargod just grinned even wider.

"Huh, they weren’t lying. You really are strong."

"Ghg!" The Blue Beast’s three eyes stared at Hargod in outrage. The monster couldn’t believe that a human could withstand its direct strike.

"What? Are you already unhappy? Don’t be such a crybaby, we’re just getting started!"

The next moment, Hargod raised his left fist for another strike, and the Blue Beast responded in kind.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Their fists crashed into each other, sending gusts of wind flying in all directions.

A satisfied smirk spread across Leora’s face. Hargod rarely fought, after all, it required a worthy threat, but when he stepped onto the battlefield, the Crooked Horn showed its true power.

But Groza and Kreyn didn’t look happy at all.

’So that’s what he’s like. No wonder he’s always cheerful. With that kind of power, he has nothing to worry about. I doubt we could beat this bastard even if the three of us attacked him together, but he... he’s holding it back all by himself.’

The Blue Beast was supposed to protect the others. It couldn’t afford to lose.

"GHROOO!!!" The Blue Beast roared, bringing both fists down on Hargod at once.

"Oh." Hargod’s eye widened as he put up a block in front of him.

The impact sent him flying to the side as his muscular back slammed into a column.

The Blue Beast continued to growl and stomp, either celebrating a successful attack or trying to intimidate Hargod.

Tap. Tap.

Pebbles rolled down Hargod’s shoulder as he rose in a sudden movement.

"I see. So you’re not the type who likes to lose. Huh, what a pity! I’m just the same!"

Hargod snapped his wrists, and in an instant his arms up to his elbows were covered with a metallic layer, as if they had turned into iron.

Kreyn narrowed his eye.

’Hmm... This is clearly not a mutation. I doubt anyone besides me has them like this. But Grad, Ophelia, and the others assumed my arms were a transformation. So, is this what a real transformation looks like?’

Step. Step. Step.

Hargod strode forward confidently, leaving footprints on the ground.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? You had the advantage from the start. You’re taller and probably twice as heavy as me. All I did was even the odds!"

It was bullshit, and Hargod knew it, which was exactly why he said it.

"Come on! Either you counterattack, or you’ll lose without even trying!"

The Blue Beast had no other choice but to strike its fist once more.

The two fists crashed into each other, but this time, instead of a shockwave, a crack echoed.

"Fuck..." Groza gulped.

SPLASH!

Blood gushed out of the open fracture. The Blue Beast’s arm was torn in two, unable to withstand the pressure.

The monster’s three eyes darted around in panic, unable to believe what had actually happened to its arm.

BAM!

Hargod’s fist slammed into the monster’s jaw, knocking it to the ground.

"Don’t you dare take your eyes off your opponent! We’re not done yet!" Hargod exclaimed, his gaze shining.

A wave of fear swept over the Blue Beast as Hargod clenched his two fists into a single hammer. If it wanted to survive, it had to resort to desperate measures.

"GRRRRROOOO!!!"

An especially loud roar echoed through the chamber as more than fifty Rahta Beasts opened their eyes at once.

They could sleep even if a battle was raging right next to them, but they couldn’t ignore the Blue Beast’s roar.

Hargod turned around, bearing a carefree grin.

"Well, it wasn’t for nothing that I decided to wait for you. Go ahead - these guys are on you. As soon as I’m done with this one, I’ll help you!"

BAM!

Hargod continued to attack, paying no attention to the dozens of Rahta Beasts charging straight at him.

Strangely enough, Kreyn and Leora were the first to charge forward, and Groza joined them only later.

’Alright, since I’m here, I think I’ll test what my Infusion is capable of.’

Kreyn was about to perform his usual stomp, but this time he channeled as much energy as possible.

THUMP!

A shockwave swept through the area, knocking the Rahta Beasts off their feet. When the wave reached fifteen meters away, a circle of green light flared up, and then sharp crystals burst from the ground.

Several Rahta Beasts that happened to be on the perimeter were pierced by the sharp spikes and sustained fatal injuries.

’Hmm. It won’t be as effective against a single opponent, but against a crowd, it’s a great tool.’

Leora used her gauntlets to burn them alive with electricity. But Kreyn’s attention was focused on Groza.

Whoooosh!

She dodged sharply as a clawed paw flew over her head, then blocked the attack just in time and sent the monster flying with a precise strike.

’I haven’t seen her in combat very often, but it doesn’t seem like she could move so nimbly without her armor. Is it all down to her spider instincts? But what about its ability?’

"RARK!

The two Rahta Beasts crept up on Groza from behind while she was fighting the third one. Kreyn raised his leg, ready to help her with another stomp, but Groza didn’t need any help.

Shudder!

The spider imprint on her back quivered as eight inky legs suddenly sprang to life, piercing the two Rahta Beasts like sharp spears.

Kreyn smiled as Groza turned toward him.

"Don’t worry about me. With your armor, I definitely won’t lose."

"Glad to hear it."

Given the situation, Kreyn wasn’t afraid of the Rahta Beasts and only accepted one-on-one battles, since he still didn’t want to reveal that he possessed powerful mutations. This was supposed to be his element of surprise.

He used as little energy as possible. While Leora and Groza fought two or three monsters at once, Kreyn was literally beating his sole opponent to a bloody pulp.

BAM!

Another punch rang out from the center, this time, the final one.

"Huh." Hargod chuckled, raising his bloodied fists. "That wasn’t bad, but you gave up too quickly. You had fire in you - you should’ve fought more aggressively, damn it!"

Kreyn glanced to his side.

The Blue Beast wasn’t moving anymore. Its head was smashed into bloody shards and crushed into the ground. Hargod, for his part, had only suffered a few scratches on his knuckles.

"Alright, I’ll take this with me." Hargod reached out toward the light, taking the monster’s gene.

’Tsk.’ Kreyn clicked his tongue inwardly. ’So its gene was good enough for Hargod to take it? Damn, I’ve gotten too used to people leaving me all the genes.’

Clap. Clap.

Hargod brushed the dust off his hands as he looked around.

"Huh, looks like you guys haven’t been slacking off either."

Next to Groza and Leora lay more than a dozen monsters each, while Kreyn had only a few.

"What? You left all the work to the women? Hahaha! I didn’t expect that from you."

Kreyn jerked his head to the side.

"We’re not going to stop here, are we?"

Suddenly, Hargod’s expression turned serious as they all looked toward the passageway in the distance.

They all knew this wasn’t the end of the Rahta Beast Nest, and something more important than the Blue Beast must be waiting for them at its very core.

"Sure." Hargod cracked his knuckles. "Soon, these caves will be ours."
