Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!

Chapter 694: Forbidden Knowledge Repository

"Zuo Zuo! Hurry!"

At that moment, Lynn roared sharply.

Because almost simultaneously, he saw the blood mist churning in the distance and felt the twisted aura bearing down on them.

And honestly, by this point, there was no other option left. With the news spreading, he and Zuo Zuo had become the prime targets. Even though Sir Aiwen had always stood by their side, that very fact meant that if Lynn stayed here, he would only drag Sir Aiwen into becoming the target of all those Root-level beings as well.

Given Sir Aiwen's current state, there was absolutely no way he could handle something like this.

Zuo Zuo jolted.

Her big eyes instantly turned serious. Without any hesitation, she charged forward, reaching out toward that massive door alongside Lynn.

Her eyes reflected Lynn's face, reflecting every version of him from every period.

She had already realized it, too.

That so-called Queen's consciousness...

Was... was a key that could only be completed when the two of them worked together. And what kind of immense connection did her own birth have with that consciousness?

Because she hadn't told Lynn, hadn't told her stupid brain, that during the time she was away from him, Little Treasure had told her countless things. It had told her how, in years long past, his teacher had grafted the fragments of the Colossus's Heart into his dying body...

It had started as nothing more than a chance experiment.

Yet, by accident, it had created a living miracle.

Her appearance was also inevitable. She just never imagined she would form such a strange bond with this infuriating guy, in a form like this.

Rumble—

The door radiated a brilliant, blinding white light that burst from the crack, shining down on their intertwined fingers.

Her pupils dilated. It was like a call from within the door itself, growing clearer and clearer, so clear that she couldn't help but grip that bastard's hand tighter, couldn't help but squeeze it as hard as she could.

"Let's go!"

At that moment, Lynn had no hesitation. He roared sharply, about to step through that door with Zuo Zuo and Little Treasure.

But almost at the same time.

The blood mist in the distance exploded violently. An icy, abyss-like giant pupil appeared ominously in that high sky. Countless tentacles pressed down like an inverted hell, making the entire space tremble.

The Flesh and Blood Dominator!

Lynn snapped his head up, an extraordinary coldness flashing in his eyes.

But also almost simultaneously, a massive phantom appeared above his head, blocking the sky-covering multitude of tentacles. Sir Aiwen's colossal body descended before the door, his raging Psychic Energy pushed to its limit, holding back the crushing pressure from the God of All Machines and the Flesh and Blood Dominator.

"Go!"

Sir Aiwen's gritted voice resounded across the entire sky.

And Lynn hesitated no longer. He grabbed Zuo Zuo's hand, and the moment the door swung open, he stepped with her into that blinding radiance.

Behind them were the frenzied assaults of two Roots—Flesh and Machine. Even as the endless light swallowed his entire field of vision, he could still hear, behind him, the heavy, clanging sounds of Sir Aiwen struggling to hold the line.

...

Whoosh—

It was like the stirring of a gentle breeze.

And when Lynn opened his eyes again, he found himself standing in the very center of a vast hall.

All around was resplendent gold, like a colossal golden illusion. Countless specks of light drifted through the air. Everything felt incredibly unreal. And when he looked down at his own body, he realized that, at some point, it too had become nothing but an illusion—like a ghost, its pure outline traced by golden light.

And beside him.

Zuo Zuo stood in the same form, her face filled with confusion.

Like Adam and Eve entering the Garden of Eden, they were completely unclothed, yet hazy, like mere shadows.

[Ding! You have entered the Forbidden Knowledge Repository!]

The system prompt echoed in his ears.

Zuo Zuo turned to him blankly and asked, "This is..."

Lynn quickly regained his composure, scanning his surroundings warily. "This should be the most core area of the Colossus's Brain. Stay close to me and don't wander off. The Colossus's Brain's consciousness should be hidden somewhere in this place."

Forbidden Knowledge Repository?

If they dared to call it that, then could it mean that all the knowledge the Colossus Civilization had accumulated over countless years was hidden here?

"Let's look around."

Still on high alert, Lynn scanned the area carefully, holding Zuo Zuo's hand as they slowly moved forward.

In the silent hall.

Only the distant echo of their footsteps could be heard.

Zuo Zuo followed behind Lynn, her gaze also drifting around in a daze. But strangely, even though she had never been here before, she felt an unexpected wave of familiarity wash over her.

As if, long ago, she had spent an eternity here—in another form of existence.

"Zuo Zuo, have you remembered something?"

Lynn didn't turn around, but he asked as if he could read her expression.

No usual flippancy. No forced seriousness like he often put on. Just a gentle, quiet inquiry.

Zuo Zuo froze for a moment. For a second, she didn't know how to answer.

But then—

It was as if a ridiculous feeling suddenly struck her. As if he didn't really have to come here. As if he didn't truly need to get close to the Colossus's Brain. And yet, for some reason she couldn't quite grasp, he had step by step pushed open this door with her...

"Look at those books."

After asking only that one question, Lynn acted as if nothing had happened. He raised his hand, pointing toward the edge of the hall.

Only then did she realize they had unknowingly reached the border of this circular hall. It wasn't very large. And immediately, she saw that the so-called "border" wasn't a high wall or an invisible light barrier at all. It was neat rows of golden bookshelves.

She looked up.

Layer upon layer, they stretched endlessly into the highest, unseen reaches of the sky.

This was actually a massive tower, entirely surrounded by books. And they were inside that very tower.

What breathtaking magnificence.

This was practically an ocean of knowledge.

Still holding her hand, Lynn walked forward on his own to the stacked bookshelves. He reached out, paused for a moment, then pulled out a thick, golden book. Adjusting his monocle, he carefully opened it.

It was densely packed with tiny, unfamiliar writing.

But Lynn couldn't understand that language at all. It was a form of inscription completely different from any script in the Dark World, as if it belonged to an entirely independent civilization.

"If I'm not mistaken, this should be the Colossus Civilization's great compendium of texts."
