And finally, half an hour later.

From the massive black hole at the very center of the Cursed City, Lynn and the silver-haired girl leaped high from beneath the ground, landing on the surface above.

The black mist still churned heavily above the ruins.

Lynn turned his head, his eyes reflecting the wistful expression on the girl's face. He gently squeezed her hand and spoke:

"Let the past be the past. But if you ever get the chance in the future, you can always come back here, think of it as... a remembrance."

Lynn understood.

What had happened here a thousand years ago had always been an inescapable shadow looming over this girl's heart.

But those nightmares had always been hidden beneath her rational, composed expression, buried deep in the depths of her heart where no one could see.

But at least...

The girl stared at the hollow in prolonged silence, then finally slowly extended her slender hand.

"I will never return to this place again. If it were possible, I would even want everyone to forget this place ever existed. Just as you said, the dead should not be disturbed."

A crimson glimmer radiated from her fingertips.

Chains coiled around her like serpents.

And then, in the next instant.

Rumble—

Under the force of her immense power, the earth and stone on both sides collapsed and thundered into the massive hollow at the center, the great roar whipping her long hair into the air as she completely buried the underground temple beneath the rubble.

At the moment of the collapse, a flicker of sorrow and grief passed through her eyes, but it was quickly suppressed, buried here just like the temple that once worshipped her, sealed away forever.

Because no one remembered anymore.

Only she alone knew that countless lives had died here for her sake.

And she never wanted anyone to disturb their bones again.

"Let's go. There's no need to stay here any longer."

The girl remained silent, lingering no more. She lowered her head, tucked a strand of flying hair behind her ear, turned around, and walked step by step away from the city.

Lynn turned to watch her retreating figure.

Then looked at the collapsed, completely buried temple.

He understood.

This was also the beginning of the girl's resolve to bid farewell to the past completely, to gradually accept and adapt to all of this. And whether for her or for her deceased favored ones, it was the best decision she could make.

She might still remember and cherish the past, but she would also grow stronger.

Lynn let out a relieved sigh, a smile spreading across his face as he leaped up and quickly caught up with her.

"Brain, she... can she really be trusted?"

Zuo Zuo's Ծ‸Ծ voice echoed in his mind.

"Even though you seem to have maxed out this god's affinity, she still has that blatantly wicked possessiveness toward Zuo Zuo!"

Lynn leaped in that direction, the corners of his mouth curling up as he adjusted his monocle and said:

"What's the matter? Worried? I mean, Zuo Zuo, you're the main consciousness of the Colossus's Heart. Back in the day, you were the Queen of the Colossus's Brain. Shouldn't the two of you naturally be of one mind, perfectly in sync?"

A giant "╬" instantly exploded on the back of Zuo Zuo's hand.

She raised a big middle finger.

(Glaring with fury) and said: "Don't you dare bring that up! Damn it! Every time I remember how you tried to secretly abandon me, I want to kill you! Even though it didn't happen in the end, that doesn't mean this Left Hand has truly forgiven you! You better watch your back when you sleep! Hmph!"

Lynn grinned, pinching his monocle, and said:

"But no matter how you look at it, Zuo Zuo, you can't stay away from me, can you? Otherwise, you wouldn't have shouted so loudly back then. So, Zuo Zuo, just say it—have you already developed strange feelings and admiration for your own Brain?"

(≖ᴗ≖)✧

"Don't tell me, Zuo Zuo, the two of us share a blood connection—you're my hand, after all. Don't go having weird thoughts about your own Brain! That would put me in quite a dilemma too!"

Zuo Zuo was instantly triggered, shrieking (screaming in rage) as she lunged at Lynn's head again.

"I'm not the one in a dilemma, you stupid big Brain!"

"Stupid Brain, if you don't want that mouth of yours anymore, just say so early—I'll tear it apart for you! I'll shark you!"

One person and one hand once again erupted into fierce conflict, wrestling and tumbling together.

The girl ahead heard the commotion and glanced back slightly. Her eyes reflected Lynn, who had again started fighting with himself, and a flicker of envy seemed to pass through her gaze before vanishing in an instant.

She once again recalled the words he had spoken in the Colossus's Mental Space.

Always bickering, always stumbling, always breaking into fights at the slightest provocation.

But deep down.

They cared so deeply for each other, neither wanting the other to get hurt.

This kind of bond... was truly enviable...

And she gradually came to understand why this young man with such terrifying cunning and intellect never gave off even a hint of gloominess. Perhaps he had simply cut himself into pieces. Perhaps it was precisely because of the company and bickering of a childlike left hand that he could always maintain a youthful mindset, preventing him from being assimilated by this hell...

Because many people wore their masks for so long that they could never take them off again...

...

"Lynn! Your father-in-law's condition has basically stabilized. Where are you now?"

Before they had traveled much further, Sir Aiwen's voice came through Lynn's mind.

Lynn immediately looked up, gazing toward the distant sky of the Cursed City. He could see that the raging eruption of that towering Titan Giant God seemed to be gradually subsiding. A silver-white glow slowly emerged on its body, and its form began to shrink continuously.

Clearly.

The effect of the Echoes of the Past he had applied to it had exceeded its time limit.

About to wake up soon?

After replying to Sir Aiwen, Lynn immediately called out to the Colossus's Brain ahead, preparing to head to their destination and regroup with the others.

It didn't take long.

When the two climbed over a massive mound of earth and passed through the shroud of black mist to reach the battlefield, Sir Aiwen and the Godweaver Head were already there waiting.

"How is it? Is Big Brother Titan's condition okay?"

Lynn landed swiftly and rushed to Sir Aiwen's side to ask.

His gaze immediately fell upon the Titan Head, which was as massive as a small mountain. It lay there with its eyes closed, thunderous snoring echoing across the surrounding sky.

Sir Aiwen turned, his gaze sweeping over the Colossus's Brain's face before settling on Lynn. He smiled wryly and shook his head:

"Fairly stable, I'd say."

"Godweaver said your father-in-law usually sleeps for a long time after his rampages to recover his energy. And honestly, if your father-in-law were to go on a rampage in our Nightfall City, I doubt all of us combined could suppress him..."

He turned, looking out at the land within thousands of miles that had been shattered to pieces, both moved and relieved.

And he truly couldn't fathom it.

How exactly had Lynn managed to forge a connection with this War God, who could practically be considered the ceiling of hell's combat power?

All he could say was...

Hmph!"

Lynn also smiled wryly. He had always known Big Brother Titan was incredibly strong, but he truly hadn't expected him to be this powerful. No wonder Big Brother dared to say things like "If anyone dares to bully you, I'll flatten them." He clearly had the strength to back it up.

But thankfully, Big Brother had personally stepped in.

Otherwise, they probably wouldn't have been able to deal with those two terrifying Roots, the God of All Machines and the Flesh and Blood Dominator.

Lynn turned, gazing out at the shattered land and sky, filled with mixed emotions.

"Regardless, the Mechanical Cult and the Flesh and Blood Cult won't be recovering anytime soon. Let's get the hell out of this place. And back in Nightfall City, there's still one more important matter we need to attend to..."
