"...Are you serious?"

When Algol casually announced that she wanted a Last Embryo to assassinate a God King, Ryo's head filled with question marks.

Everyone knew that the true bodies of God Kings weren't allowed to descend into the lower layers. Even if one somehow snuck down, there was no way the fake Last Embryos under Ryo's command could kill them.

Most of them were only around the four-digit level. Expecting a group like that to slay a God King's true body was absurd. Which meant either Ryo or Algol would have to do it personally.

With that in mind, Ryo frowned. "Zeus?"

Algol immediately rolled her eyes. "You're overthinking it. Kill Zeus? His true body is hiding in Olympus in the upper layers, protected by a grand barrier set up by the Twin Goddesses. Unless I personally make a move, who's supposed to kill him?"

"Well, he's pretty much the only God King I know you've got a personal grudge against." Ryo shrugged, already guessing where this was going. "It's one of your enemies, right? Then why don't you deal with them yourself?"

"As if I could..."

Algol's voice rose instinctively, but to Ryo it sounded suspiciously guilty.

"I'm a three-digit rule-breaker. Picking on little fry like that would be beneath me."

"So you want me to do the dirty work?" Ryo looked at her speechlessly.

'Seriously? Too proud to get your own hands dirty?'

Then again, they were old enemies.

Now that she'd become stronger, settling old scores wasn't exactly unreasonable. At worst, other beings of her level would tease her for being petty.

But Ryo knew this wasn't merely about revenge. Algol wanted them dead. That was why she insisted on using a Last Embryo.

Only a Last Embryo could erase a god permanently. That was simply how Little Garden's rules worked.

He also understood that this step had been inevitable from the beginning.

The Little Garden Center had given him points and even helped create the Trickster Forum because it expected returns on its investment.

Even if that return happened to be the life of a God King. If it benefited Little Garden, the Center wouldn't hesitate.

After a moment's thought, Ryo asked, "So... what does the Center say?"

"It wants this done as soon as possible," Algol answered while deliberately avoiding his eyes.

Actually, she'd only reached the Three-Digit Rule-Breaker level by taking out a "loan."

Under normal circumstances, even after observing the DxD world and making all those changes, her Spirit Rank still wouldn't have been enough to reach the Rule-Breaker level.

If she spent tens of thousands of years accumulating achievements, she might have had a chance of advancing naturally.

The Center's "loan" had simply erased that waiting period and granted her the Spirit Rank immediately.

So in truth, the impatient one wasn't the Center. It was Algol.

A loan was still a loan. You had to pay interest eventually.

Otherwise, what was the point?

Ryo looked at her oddly. "So you can't make a move anymore?"

He knew better than most how the Little Garden Center operated.

Maybe before he'd arrived in Little Garden, the Center had desperately wanted changes to human history.

But after he'd repeatedly observed other worlds and opened up entirely new possibilities... Things had changed.

As long as Ryo kept discovering new worlds and expanding those possibilities, the Center wasn't in any particular hurry.

From its perspective, even if Ryo only found one new world every thousand years, it would still be pure profit.

Instead, he'd uncovered several in less than half a year. So there was no doubt in Ryo's mind. The impatient one was Algol herself.

'And she's still trying to pin it on the Center. Shameless.'

Caught red-handed, Algol looked rather embarrassed.

Her little scheme had been seen through instantly.

Of course, she hadn't really intended to hide it. If she genuinely wanted to deceive Ryo, she probably could have.

But there simply wasn't any point. Their interests were aligned.

"You know how it is," she said helplessly. "Beings at the two-digit level basically aren't allowed to participate in any Gift Games."

She sounded openly annoyed.

"Three-digit rule-breakers can get around that restriction, but if I make a move personally, I'd still have to worry about what the Seventeen think. Tch. Those old fossils are obviously just jealous of my beauty."

"I see..." Ryo actually understood her predicament.

Queen Halloween's refusal to involve herself in worldly affairs had already shown that while three-digit rule-breakers weren't directly bound by Little Garden's laws, they were still constrained by the Seventeen.

Otherwise, if someone like Algol could freely interfere while staying technically within the Center's rules... Little Garden would probably end up becoming Queen Halloween's personal kingdom.

Restrictions were inevitable.

Ryo guessed they mostly revolved around interfering with weaker beings, especially through direct killing.

That meant if Algol wanted to eliminate a three-digit God King, she'd have to rely on subordinates.

She could split off part of her Authority and create four-digit rule-breakers.

But even those wouldn't be enough to guarantee victory against a God King.

The only person she could truly count on... was Ryo.

After thinking it over, he found himself inclined to accept. After all, their goals were the same.

"So," he asked, "who's the target?"

"Anat."

Algol closed her eyes after saying the name, quietly waiting for Ryo to laugh at her.

Instead... Ryo stared at her with a face full of exasperation.

"And you call this using a Last Embryo? This practically announces to the entire world that we did it!"

Anat. Queen of the Canaanite pantheon. Supreme ruler among its gods.

More importantly... She was simply the Canaanite variation of Ishtar's Spirit Rank.

In other words, she was another version of Algol herself.

This wasn't just killing someone. It was one incarnation of herself eliminating another incarnation from a different mythology.

Within Little Garden, that meant the convergence of Spirit Ranks. A mandatory step on the path toward becoming a true two-digit existence.

And because the target was Algol's own alternate Spirit Rank. Who was consolidating those Spirit Ranks couldn't be more obvious.

It wasn't merely leaving clues. It was practically a public execution.

The moment they acted, everyone would know Algol was behind it. And everyone would know Ryo had carried it out.

Yet this idiot still wanted to drag a Last Embryo into the operation. Was she trying to advertise that she and Ryo were controlling the Last Embryos?

The more Ryo thought about it, the more ridiculous it became.

He rejected the proposal without hesitation.
