Cultivation: But Not a Game
Chapter 748 - 400: Opening the Sect and Lifting RestrictionsChapter 748: Chapter 400: Opening the Sect and Lifting Restrictions
Departing from the Celestial Court, Su Yu directly transported to Biyou Palace.
Inside the Hall of Inquiry, he bowed before the cloud bed at the top, saying loudly:
"Disciple bows to mentor, wishing to ring the bell to gather fellow disciples!"
As his voice fell, radiant lights converged above the cloud bed, and soon Sect Master Tongtian appeared. He glanced over Su Yu, smiling:
"Very well, for I too have not seen my disciples for a long time."
Su Yu bowed, turned to leave the hall, and came before the ancient bell outside. He harnessed mana to hold the bell hammer, lifting it and striking heavily.
"Dang!"
The melodious bell sound echoed, an invisible wave spreading like lightning.
"Dang!"
By the spiritual spring, a sleeping Golden Immortal qilin was startled and lifted its head, gazing towards Biyou Palace, witnessing the clouds that had encapsulated the palace for eons vanished, endless celestial light soaring skyward, piercing the heavens.
Above the ocean, a thunder eagle darted through the thunder-laden clouds, suddenly swept by an invisible bell wave. Tens of thousands of kilometers of massive thunderclouds disappeared in an instant, revealing sunny skies and the slowly awakening gigantic gold-tinted ao akin to a continent on the distant sea.
"Dang!"
The sound of the bell swept throughout the Earth Immortal Realm at an inexplicable speed, reaching from the Nine Heavens to the Netherworld, resonating through the three realms.
In that moment, all cultivators above Celestial Immortal across the three realms heard the bell sound. Their eyes followed the sound, witnessing the majestic golden ao over the vast misty waves, and the palace atop its back.
"Hiss, Gold Ao Island."
"Biyou Palace!"
Whether they had seen it before or not, upon witnessing it, everyone naturally knew everything they needed to know.
Some young or low-status immortals might not understand what this signifies, but those who knew where it was were all immensely shocked, staring at the palace surrounded by immortals above the sky:
"Why does Biyou Palace appear in the world?"
A Golden Immortal stood outside the palace gates, tugging his beard, face full of shock. Behind him stood two young Celestial Immortals, one of whom asked curiously:
"Mentor, what is this place Biyou Palace? I’ve never heard of it. How does it compare to our Lingxi Palace?"
The Golden Immortal returned to his senses, his expression darkening as he admonished sternly:
"Speak not nonsense, our Lingxi Palace cannot compare to Biyou Palace."
With respect, the Golden Immortal bowed towards the distance, solemnly stating:
"Gold Ao Island, Biyou Palace, is the sacred abode of the Saint of the Profound Sect’s Jie Sect, Sect Master Tongtian, the place of worship for all immortals. I dare not boast comparison, even not equal to a servant within it."
After reprimanding his disciple, he murmured to himself in bewilderment:
"Strange, ever since the Conferred God List, Biyou Palace remained hidden, why does it suddenly appear today?"
Not only him, but almost all immortals across the three realms were filled with doubt, yet only a few sects knew some inside information.
Since the bell was rung, Su Yu, along with Qingchan, stood waiting before the Hall of Inquiry.
Soon, auspicious clouds arrived, bearing Wu Dang Holy Mother along with her disciples and several accomplished grand-disciples.
Su Yu promptly went forward to greet:
"Senior Sister Wu Dang!"
"Mentor!"
Wu Dang nodded with a smile:
"A hundred years without seeing, Junior Brother has now proven to the Golden Immortal realm, congratulations!"
"Just a stroke of fortune, lucky to advance."
Wu Dang didn’t delve into this, shifting the topic to ask:
"Is mentor present?"
"Mentor is."
"I shall go pay respects to mentor."
"Please!"
Senior Sister Wu Dang proceeded towards the Hall of Inquiry, however, her disciples and grand-disciples remained behind, all bowing to him:
"Bai Muqing pays respects to Uncle Master Dingzhen!"
"Tao Xin pays respects to Grand Uncle Master Dingzhen!"
Su Yu smiled slightly, gesturing kindly for them to rise.
Qingchan’s senior disciple Bai Muqing felt somewhat embarrassed, recalling when she first met Su Yu and suggested introducing him to join the Jie Sect, never expecting after a century he had apprenticed to her mentor’s mentor, surpassing her rank, and already ascended to Golden Immortal, astonishing her greatly.
At that moment, countless stars suddenly appeared across the firmament, the starlight converging into several figures—Senior Sister Jin Ling, Zhao Gongming, the Three Xiaos, and notable disciples including the Ten Great Heavenly Lords.
Behind them stood a dozen men and women, their disciples, among which Su Yu recognized one, Senior Sister Jin Ling’s disciple, Wen Zhong, Heavenly Province Lord of the Thunder Section of the Celestial Court.
Though highly revered as Heavenly Province Lord of the Thunder Section, second-grade celestial rank, in Gold Ao Island, Wen Zhong could only respectfully perform junior etiquette towards him.
Besides them, nearly all fellow disciples had arrived, those not yet present were mostly outer sect disciples of the Jie Sect or disciple registries, as well as several major divisions of the Jie Sect doctrine.
Of note, during the Conferred God era, Jie Sect saw myriad immortals visiting, mentor accepted over ten thousand disciples, most perished within the Myriad Immortal Array, utterly vanished even from the Conferred God List, while three thousand red dust guests were taken by the Western Sect.
A few surviving disciples had limited cultivation, most not even reaching Golden Immortal, suffering finite lifespans.
From Conferred God to present has spanned millions of years, those initial disciples without ascending to Golden Immortal have largely perished.
Thus, not many disciples of Jie Sect remain.
Despite seeming bleak, honestly, Su Yu felt the situation might indeed be better.
Mentor’s teachings embrace inclusivity, widely accepting disciples in the past under the mantle of myriad immortals, magnificent though burdened with many disciples lacking aptitude, hindering fellow disciples.
Previously, the ship was too large to steer, impossible to change, couldn’t expel all disciples.
Now, past matters have scattered as time passed, Su Yu believes bygones are bygones, setting the stage to start anew.
Of course, this isn’t to say he doesn’t acknowledge Sect Master Tongtian’s teachings.
