The three brothers’ surname was Muu.
They were born in a mountain stockade in the Ten Thousand Mountains.
Muu Tian was the eldest, Muu Di was the second, and Muu Hai was the third. They had chosen their own names.
Years ago, the three had a fortuitous encounter and advanced to the Dao Foundation Realm together. Now, they were all Late-Stage Dao Foundation Cultivators.
Because of their Cultivation Technique,
the three shared a telepathic connection. By coordinating with their Magical Treasures, they had once escaped from a Golden Core Grandmaster.
For years, the three had made a living by plundering, with countless lives on their hands. They had built a fearsome reputation in the Ten Thousand Mountains.
This time, they had heard of the strange celestial phenomenon near the Earth Abyss and had snuck over to take the opportunity to enter the Jade Void Cave Heaven.
SWISH!
A Sword Light flashed.
Two figures fell to the ground.
Muu Hai landed beside the corpses, his eyes glowing with spiritual perception as he examined them. A hint of surprise appeared on his face.
"The Qi in the bodies of this old man and this young boy is pure and free of impurities. They’re practically born for Cultivation."
"They are."
Muu Tian knelt and prodded the bodies.
"The young one is one thing, but this old fellow’s bone age is over sixty, yet he shows no signs of decline."
"The natives of this cave heaven have astonishing Talent. Do you think there might be experts at the Golden Core Realm?"
Even if a Secret Realm cave heaven had an abundant Spiritual Mechanism, its incomplete Celestial Dao made it difficult to produce true Cultivators.
This was an ironclad rule.
But this was the Jade Void Cave Heaven, the legendary abode of an Immortal. An exception was not out of the question.
"No."
Muu Di shook his head.
"Eldest Brother, look. Although there are signs of Primordial Energy coalescing in their bodies, not a single one of their Innate Nine Acupoints has been opened."
"Hmm..."
"Perhaps we’ve just run into ordinary people."
As soon as he finished speaking, the three of them looked up in unison toward a spot not far away.
A group of people emerged from the mountain forest. They carried bows and arrows on their backs and prey on their shoulders; they were a party of hunters heading into the mountains.
"Dad!"
"Xiao Ding!"
Seeing the bodies on the ground, one of the hunters’ faces changed drastically. He roared and charged at the three brothers.
"What have you done?"
"Heh..." Muu Hai shrugged, a cruel smile spreading across his face.
"The same as you. Hunting."
As he spoke, he flicked a finger. A streak of light shot out, instantly splitting the charging hunter in two.
"Leave one alive."
Muu Tian frowned at the sight. Due to his childhood experiences, his third brother had a particular fondness for killing.
"Let’s get some information about this cave heaven first."
"I know."
A savage grin on his face, Muu Hai flashed next to the group of hunters, raising a sleeve to kill them.
Just then.
"Stabilize!"
A shout rang out.
Abruptly,
the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi stopped flowing. Physical bodies lost control, and even the turning of thoughts seemed to slow.
An old man among the hunters clenched his teeth, formed a Finger Technique with one hand, and stared death at Muu Hai, yelling:
"Die!"
As the word "die" fell, an Invisible Power silently wrapped around one’s Primordial Spirit, dragging it down into endless darkness.
Frozen in place, Muu Hai’s eyes showed surprise, but it instantly turned to disdain.
BOOM!
The ground for several miles around trembled as tens of thousands of palm-sized Wind Blades, as thin as cicada wings, swept wildly in all directions.
Under the slicing of the Wind Blades, the Physical Bodies of the dozen or so hunters were instantly dismembered, collapsing into piles of shredded flesh.
"The Body Stabilization Technique!"
Muu Tian took a step forward, his brow furrowed.
"He wasn’t even at the Innate Realm, yet he could immobilize a Late-Stage Dao Foundation Cultivator. What kind of Method is this?"
"Huh!"
He knelt down, turned over one of the bodies on the ground, and said in surprise:
"Why does this person have three eyes?"
"Eldest Brother!"
Muu Di shouted.
"Look! Isn’t this the legendary Spiritual Medicine, the Taiyi Peacock Flower that can assist in Core Formation?"
Hmm?
Muu Tian snapped his head up.
... ...
「Mountain City.」
Stone houses of varying heights were scattered about.
Natives dressed in long linen robes lay in pools of blood. Piercing screams and roars came from the square.
"Demons!"
"You damn Demons!"
"Go to hell!"
Following the furious roars, Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi gathered into a layered mountain range that pressed down fiercely on one person.
"’Their Divine Souls are barely at the initial stage of Dao Foundation, yet they can control the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi so easily?’" Miao Yang, a Golden Core Loose Cultivator from the Ten Thousand Mountains, held his Snake Staff and looked up at the vast Primordial Energy, his eyes filled with astonishment. "’With a single thought, they align with heaven and earth. This is a Talent only a Golden Core Grandmaster should possess.’"
BOOM!
RUMBLE...
The Primordial Energy crashed down, as real and substantial as actual rock, causing the packed earth to sink violently.
Figures appeared nearby and, seeing the scene, roared in anger.
"Divine Envoy!"
"I’ll help you!"
"We’ll help you!"
Most of these mountain folk were skin and bones, their clothes tattered, yet with a flick of their fingers, they too could summon the might of heaven and earth.
In an instant,
the sky changed color, and winds and clouds surged.
Miao Yang was trapped in place by the superimposed forces, to the point his very Skin and Flesh began to make strained noises.
"’Their Divine Souls are connected, all from a single lineage...’"
He muttered under his breath. His grip on the Snake Staff tightened, and countless streams of black smoke shot out in all directions like bared fangs and claws.
In the blink of an eye,
the entire Mountain City was enveloped in black smoke, followed by a chorus of blood-curdling screams.
「A short while later.」
The black smoke dissipated.
The Mountain City was deathly silent.
Not one of the ten thousand-plus residents of the city survived; all had their Essence, Qi, and Spirit drained by the black smoke, turning them into skeletons.
Miao Yang strode to the main hall in the center of the Mountain City. Looking at the giant tree standing within, a smile spread across his face.
"A Ten Thousand Years Bodhi Spirit Tree. Something like this isn’t something you natives can protect."
... ...
「In a certain town.」
"Stabilize!"
A white-haired old man with a vertical eye on his forehead roared furiously, pointing a finger at someone in the center of the area.
Instantly,
the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi stopped flowing.
The next moment,
countless bolts of lightning erupted, tearing everything apart. Figures were utterly consumed by the thunder.
"A Three-Thousand-Year-Old Earth Element Fruit Tree! This trip wasn’t for nothing!"
A figure appeared in the middle of the town, uprooted a fruit tree, and soared into the sky, laughing heartily.
*
*
*
PENG!
The mountain rock shattered.
A figure staggered out of a large crater smashed into the side of the mountain. It took him a long while to come to his senses.
’Where am I?’
Zhu Ju looked up at the scorching sun hanging in the sky. Its different position made him frown slightly.
Clearly,
he was no longer in the Langya Secret Realm, or even the Ten Thousand Mountains. He must be in another Secret Realm.
With a thought, a stream of light flew from the Spirit House at his waist, revealing his Outer Body Incarnation, which stood guard at his side.
He then took out a scroll and gave it a gentle shake. The hundred or so birds on the scroll flapped their wings and flew off in all directions.
「A short while later.」
Zhu Ju’s brows furrowed slightly. The Wind and Thunder Blade Wings unfurled on his back, and with a gentle flap, he flew south.
SWISH!
A faint flash of lightning descended from the sky, landing in a patch of ruins.
This must have once been a bustling town, but now the houses were collapsed and corpses littered the ground.
Zhu Ju walked for a while on the rubble-strewn street before stopping in front of a pit.
’Such dense Spiritual Qi!’
Even the residual Spiritual Qi was still incredibly dense.
There must have been a Spiritual Plant here, or some other Heavenly and Earthly Treasure, and it was definitely not a Mortal Grade item.
He formed a Finger Technique with both hands and pointed forward gently.
"Light Tracing Technique!"
The surrounding Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi quietly gathered, and fragmented scenes appeared as phantoms.
Everything that happens leaves a trace.
The same was true for Cultivators.
By using a Secret Technique to trace back the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi, one could reconstruct past scenes to a certain extent.
Of course,
if a Secret Technique had been used to obscure the traces, it would be difficult to retrace, and one might even be misled into seeing a different scene.
In the phantoms Zhu Ju retraced, a faint, shadowy figure was slaughtering the entire town’s population, finally digging up a Spirit Tree from this very spot.
"Hmm?"
He raised an eyebrow and went over to a corpse to examine it.
’The Three-Eyed Divine Race?’
In the legacy Jade Discs of the Bright Void Sect, many anecdotes from the Ancient Era were recorded, including the mention of ten thousand races.
The Three-Eyed Divine Race was one of them.
The beings of this race were all exceptionally talented, with powerful Physical Bodies and great wisdom. Their third eye possessed profound Divine Techniques.
The corpse on the ground also had three eyes, but the third eye had been gouged out, leaving only an empty socket.
’This isn’t right!’
’In the Ancient Era, the Three-Eyed Divine Race were born at the Dao Foundation or even Golden Core Realm. They stood dozens of feet tall and possessed Innate Divine Strength. The people here are no different from ordinary humans, aside from a slit on their foreheads with a dead eye inside. Could they be a hybrid of the Three-Eyed Divine Race and the Human Race?’
Before he could sort out his thoughts, an angry roar came from the distance.
"What are you doing?"
Two figures rushed in from outside the town. Seeing the ground covered in corpses, one of them roared and pointed from afar.
"Stabilize!"
’The Body Stabilization Technique!’
’No!’
’It’s the True Words Spell!’
Zhu Ju’s face showed his astonishment.
"Annihilate!"
The newcomer spoke again. A black ray shot from his fingertip, filled with an intention to kill all in its path.
