Fang Cheng witnessed this scene through his Void God Gu, a jolt of shock and confusion running through him.

'Could it be? When I explored this place all those years ago, did the Demon Lord's left hand notice me then?'

'Today, the Demon Lord's avatar made contact with the left hand, and their memories merged. That must be why he's looking for me…'

'But I wonder what he means by "great fortune"?'

The Dream Spirit Technique, the Void Ghost Marketplace... these incredible methods all resonated with the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Mechanism in unseen ways. It was hardly surprising that someone with the Demon Lord's Divine Techniques could sense that Fang Cheng's fortune was out of the ordinary.

Fang Cheng had a faint feeling that the Creation Golden Talisman's stature was far greater than the other two abilities. It could even erase the methods of an Upper Realm Divine King, so there was no way the Demon Lord could have detected it.

At that moment, after the youth in white had given his instructions to Shengshou Scholar and the Black-robed Demon Fiend, he waved his wide sleeve. A beam of Demonic Light coiled around the giant hand, and he passed through the Heaven-Defining Membrane deep within the Earth Abyss, heading straight for the Outer Void.

Awe filled Shengshou Scholar's face as he bowed deeply once more toward the retreating figure of the Demon Lord's avatar.

Afterward, he turned to the Black-robed Demon Fiend and asked with a smile, "And how should I address you?"

The Black-robed Demon Fiend replied in a low voice, "I am Jin Wujiu. I will be in your care."

Shengshou Scholar nodded. "The Demon Lord will be gone for at least sixty years. During this time, you may as well stay by my side."

Jin Wujiu said in a low voice, "I'll be troubling you, then. Why does Master need so long to break that seal?"

Shengshou Scholar explained, "That seal was jointly placed by the Red Profound Association and the Demon Buddha. Even a Tribulation Realm Great Power would need to spend a century of hard effort to break it. Though the Demon Lord's Divine Techniques are peerless, he is currently just an avatar with limited means."

"Once he refines the left hand and recovers a portion of his strength, refining his other body parts will be a much faster process."

Jin Wujiu nodded slowly, then said, "I have yearned to see the dazzling world outside for far too long. Now that Master is away, it's the perfect opportunity to broaden my horizons."

Shengshou Scholar replied leisurely, "The East Cyan Domain is indeed a prosperous and magnificent place. After being trapped in the Earth Abyss for so many years, you deserve to go out, relax, and enjoy yourself."

The two exchanged a smile, the atmosphere between them amicable.

Jin Wujiu had reached the Life Soul stage in his early years, and now, under the Demon Lord's guidance, his cultivation was at the Late-Life Soul Stage. Although he was a full major realm beneath Shengshou Scholar, they were currently treating each other as peers.

Jin Wujiu then added, "However, the most pressing matter is to find that person from the Yinluo Sect for our Master."

Shengshou Scholar mused for a moment. "The Yinluo Sect has already relocated its entire sect and fled. However, that person has another identity within the True Flame Sect in Jin Country... We might find something if we go take a look."

「Jin Country.」

On a snow mountain peak, a thousand li from the True Flame Sect.

The azure sky was pristine, without a cloud in sight.

Fang Cheng stood upon the summit, gazing down at the vast, silver-clad earth below.

He was already aware of everything that had happened deep beneath the Abyssal Marsh. Right now, his Void God Gu was tailing Shengshou Scholar and the Demon Fiend Jin Wujiu, monitoring their every move.

Just as Shengshou Scholar had mentioned, the two had left the Abyssal Marsh and were heading straight for the True Flame Sect.

As Fang Cheng faced the frigid wind on the peak, his thoughts churned. In a matter of moments, a plan formed in his mind.

'If I kill Shengshou Scholar, I'll have the breathing room I need to break through to the Dharma Aspect realm…'

'Besides, the Demon Lord's avatar isn't here. This is the perfect time to strike!'

He took out an array diagram and ninety-nine Array Flags, calmly setting up the All Heaven Stars Formation on the mountaintop.

A deep, dark "night sky," resplendent with starlight, materialized out of thin air above the peak, obscuring half the heavens.

This Fifth-rank Array merged with the Snow Mountain Spiritual Vein and began to operate on its own, emitting vast and astonishingly powerful fluctuations of energy.

Fang Cheng summoned his Feather Divine Soldiers and mounted them. The majestic, towering Mystic Iron Giant took a seat on the edge of the cliff, gazing into the distance like a statue.

About half a day passed. The Void God Gu was the first to return. After flying into the All Heaven Stars Formation, the Gu Insect scattered a cloud of brilliantly glowing Void Divine Sand.

This Divine Sand dispersed throughout the Grand Array and vanished from sight.

From outside the mountain, an observer would have seen the All Heaven Stars Formation being slowly "wiped away" from the world by an invisible giant hand.

Not another trace of its energy leaked out.

Only a single Gu Insect, gleaming with brilliant white light, flew out of the Grand Array and silently soared into the distant sky.

...

High in the sky, a giant moth over a hundred zhang long soared past.

The moth was enormous. Its wings were nearly transparent, its body was covered in purple down, and on its back was a fleshy, tumor-like beast's eye that swirled with an ominous, sinister purple light.

Beside the beast's eye stood a stone pavilion. Inside, Shengshou Scholar and Jin Wujiu sat before a small stove, mulling wine and chatting idly as they drank.

Shengshou Scholar was a connoisseur of fine wine.

No matter the circumstances, if he had even a moment of leisure, he would invariably pour himself a few cups.

It had been true in the main hall of the Nine Truths Tower, and it was true today.

The Demon Fiend Jin Wujiu had a few cups with him and already felt his spirit grow hazy, a touch of intoxication setting in.

The pair had now entered the territory of Jin Country.

Below them, the snow-capped mountains were a vast, desolate expanse. The air was frigid, and the clear sky was a deep, endless blue, making the heavens feel all the more empty and boundless.

Occasionally, a few giant birds would fly past in a V-formation, their cries echoing as they crossed the azure expanse.

Flushed with drink, Jin Wujiu remarked with a sigh, "Such magnificent scenery. It truly soothes the soul."

Shengshou Scholar downed a cup of wine. "We are now less than ten thousand li from the True Flame Sect. If I end up in a conflict with them, Mr. Jin, remember to protect yourself."

"I understand," Jin Wujiu nodded.

Suddenly, a blaze of light like a torch flared on the distant horizon, followed by waves of sharp, startled bird cries.

The two looked toward the sound and saw a dark, dense flock of strange birds flying toward them from the distance.

Behind the flock, a fiery light blazed across the sky, as if something was chasing them.

These strange birds were all over a zhang in length, their demonic auras thick in the air. They were all second and third-rank demonic fowl.

Behind the birds, a golden sun seemed to suppress the very void.

The terrifying, world-destroying heat made both of them frown.

It was a blinding ball of fire.

The tumor-like beast's eye on the moth's back suddenly fixed on the golden sun. As purple light swirled within the eye, the image of a Gu Insect appeared.

The Gu Insect gleamed with brilliant white light, emitting a boundless radiance that was bright, yet not blinding.

Its body seemed to contain a blazing sun, and its back was covered in ancient, wave-like patterns.

This Gu Insect fed on the strange birds, hunting them with abandon and chasing the flock haphazardly across the sky.

Jin Wujiu's expression changed as he sensed the power of the golden flames surrounding the Gu Insect. "Such a powerful Spirit Flame! That Gu must be a Tier Five Gu Insect. I never imagined such a tyrannical Gu Insect could be found here."

Shengshou Scholar's expression flickered. His gaze fixed on the Fire God Gu as he slowly set down his wine cup. "He is here, just as I thought," he said in a low voice.

Jin Wujiu looked at Shengshou Scholar, his face a mask of confusion.

The scholar pointed at the Fire God Gu. "I met that person once before. This Fire Gu belongs to him. Now that we've seen it, he must be nearby."

Jin Wujiu sighed softly. "He is truly worthy of being called a person of great fortune by our Master. Back then, he only had his Life Talisman Cultivation, yet now he can command a Tier Five Gu Insect."

"Mere Gu Insects are but a trivial art."

Shengshou Scholar smiled. "To have earned the Demon Lord's favor is a world-shaking stroke of fortune in itself, my friend. Why envy others?"

Jin Wujiu shook his head, saying nothing.

The two looked toward the Fire God Gu again. The tiny Gu Insect, wreathed in an astonishing conflagration that filled the sky, was relentlessly devouring the strange birds as it passed by them, about a li away.

Shengshou Scholar turned the giant moth and gave chase to the Fire God Gu.

'If that man could be recruited to my Hidden Demon Sect, he would be a great asset.'

Shengshou Scholar thought to himself.
