Cultivation: I Have a Skill Level Panel
Chapter 84 - 19: Jade Balance IslandIn the hair-raising instant that the purple orb, pulsating with terrifying Demon Qi, was about to obliterate the merchant ship,
Suddenly,
A flash of sword light ignited the space between heaven and earth before descending like a falling galaxy. The brilliant light illuminated the world, like a bolt of Thunder streaking across the sky.
It tore through space and instantly sliced the terrifying purple orb in two. Then, the incomparably sharp Sword Qi continued on, slashing toward the Sea Beast Tiger Whale.
SLICE!
As the Sea Beast Tiger Whale’s massive pupils contracted, the boundless Sword Qi, carrying a Sword Momentum that seemed capable of sundering anything, violently cleaved it in two.
BANG!
The colossal Sea Beast Tiger Whale died with terror in its eyes. Instantly, crimson blood gushed from its body, staining the surrounding sea.
The Spiritual Martial Cultivators aboard the merchant ship were stunned. ’Such a powerful Sea Beast Tiger Whale, slain in a single strike!’
Their emotions were on a roller coaster. One moment they were in the abyss of despair, facing certain death; the next, they were soaring, ecstatic with relief.
But Chen Zhong and Han Ming were more perceptive than the rest.
The two immediately cupped their fists toward the white-robed young man hovering in the air and said respectfully, "Thank you for saving our lives, Senior!"
Gu Yun had his reasons for intervening. It was rare to see another soul in the vastness of the Chaotic Sea Region. Now that he had finally come across a merchant ship, he needed to get his bearings.
He asked in a deep voice, "Where are you headed?"
Han Ming heard him and immediately answered respectfully, "Senior, we are on our way to Jade Balance Island."
Subsequently,
Gu Yun decided to accompany them to Jade Balance Island. Chen Zhong and Han Ming couldn’t have been more pleased. With such a powerful expert on board, they were ecstatic.
They arranged the finest room for Gu Yun and had several fresh, delicious dishes of Spiritual Food sent over, along with a bottle of Spirit Brew.
Gu Yun took it all in. The aroma was rich. One of the dishes was Cyan Jade Carp Soup, a Spirit Fish delicacy made from Cyan Jade Carp and a few types of Spirit Medicine. It was delicious, and the Spiritual Qi it contained was exceptionally gentle.
It was a popular ingredient in the restaurants of the Cultivation Realm. Gu Yun was intrigued, as it was his first time seeing one. After all, it was rumored that a Cyan Jade Carp could eventually become a Cyan Jade Carp King.
This Cyan Jade Carp King would awaken a trace of a Cyan Flood Dragon’s bloodline, earning it the moniker ’Jade Cyan Dragon!’
...
「Half a month later.」
The merchant ship finally arrived at Jade Balance Island.
Although Jade Balance Island was called an island, it was comparable in size to a small "Island Country" from his past life.
After the merchant ship docked, Gu Yun parted ways with the crew and made his way to the island’s Marketplace.
The Marketplace on Jade Balance Island was bustling, filled with the endless cries of hawkers.
The streets were crowded with cultivators.
Sword Cultivators, Daoists, Alchemists, Array Masters...
The old, the middle-aged, beautiful Female Cultivators...
Some with Spiritual Birds, others riding Demon Beasts, and some carrying massive gourds on their backs...
The streets teemed with cultivators of all shapes and sizes.
Shops lined both sides of the Marketplace, numerous and well-ordered.
The streets were filled with stalls, their owners’ cries echoing ceaselessly.
As Gu Yun stepped into the fray, several voices called out to him from the stalls.
"Fellow Daoist! Over here, I have a piece of Celestial Meteorite! It’s unbelievably heavy—nothing short of a Spiritual Artifact can even scratch it. It’s the ultimate material for Artifact Refining. Come and have a look!"
"Fellow Daoist! I have a companion herb to a Profound Tier Spiritual Medicine! Its medicinal power is potent enough to help you break through to the True Martial Realm! Not nine hundred ninety-nine, yours for only ninety-nine Spirit Stones!"
Gu Yun simply waved them off and walked away. As he went, he heard stall owners praise their wares to the high heavens, each claiming their items were priceless treasures.
But Gu Yun had a clear destination in mind.
Soon,
He arrived before the Jade Balance Treasure Tower. It was a magnificent and imposing structure with glazed roof tiles and ancient bronze doors. Without a moment’s hesitation, Gu Yun stepped inside.
Immediately,
A beautiful and graceful mature Female Cultivator greeted him with a warm, beaming smile.
She politely guided him into the tower, her smile never faltering. "Sir, our Jade Balance Treasure Tower has everything you could possibly need, from Elixirs, Spirit Medicines, and Spiritual Birds to Talismans and Cultivation Martial Techniques. How may I help you today?
Gu Yun smiled faintly as his gaze swept across the main hall. It was spacious, with intricately carved beams and painted rafters. An Incense Burner in the corner filled the air with fragrant Incense, and precious murals adorned the walls, creating an elegant atmosphere.
The hall was lined with counters displaying all sorts of rare treasures, with staff on hand to guide prospective buyers.
Then, with a calm expression, Gu Yun asked in a low voice, "I would like to sell some Miracle Elixirs and Demon Beast corpses. Is that possible here?"
Hearing this, the graceful Female Cultivator’s eyes lit up, and the way she looked at Gu Yun changed subtly. Realizing her reaction, she quickly composed herself.
"Of course," she said quickly. "This way, please, Sir."
The graceful Female Cultivator led Gu Yun to a counter on the second floor. Behind it, a portly, richly-robed old man was lounging in a large chair with his feet propped up.
He was engrossed in a book he held,
titled *How Can Cultivators Become Wealthy?*.
Every now and then, he would take a small sip from a cup of Spirit Tea beside him, looking utterly comfortable.
"Elder Wan, a customer is here to sell some Miracle Elixirs and Demon Beast corpses," the graceful Female Cultivator said respectfully.
The brocade-robed old man glanced over nonchalantly, then suddenly stiffened.
Sensing Gu Yun’s unfathomable aura, as profound as the abyssal sea, he knew an important customer had arrived.
He then rose to his feet and said, his portly face now serious, "Fellow Daoist, what items do you wish to sell?"
After that,
Gu Yun sold the hundred-odd bottles of Spirit Enhancing Pills and Nourishing Essence Pills he still had, along with the corpses of several powerful True Martial Realm Demon Beasts he had killed on his journey.
The total came to twenty thousand Spirit Stones.
Gu Yun then had them converted to Middle Grade Spirit Stones. At the standard Cultivation Realm exchange rate of one thousand Low Grade Spirit Stones to one Middle Grade Spirit Stone,
Gu Yun received a final sum of twenty Middle Grade Spirit Stones. They radiated an incredibly dense Spiritual Power; just taking a deep breath of it felt like it could loosen the bottleneck of his Realm.
Finally, Gu Yun purchased a map of the Chaotic Star Sea Region and a large quantity of Alchemy Materials from the first-floor hall of the Jade Balance Treasure Tower, spending five Middle Grade Spirit Stones.
He then left the Jade Balance Treasure Tower,
returning to the bustling streets of the Marketplace where stall owners continued to hawk their wares.
"Fellow Daoist, hold on! I have an ancient black sword here, recovered from an ancient Secret Realm! Its rarity is second to none in this world!"
The moment Gu Yun heard the words "Fellow Daoist, hold on!" from behind him, he quickened his pace. His body blurred into an afterimage, and in a mere instant, he vanished into the bustling, crowded Marketplace.
At that very moment, a tall, thin man in black clothes who had also come out of the Jade Balance Treasure Tower, and had been stealing glances at Gu Yun,
watched Gu Yun’s retreating back, seemingly frustrated that he couldn’t keep up. Then, he moved like a phantom, arriving at an extremely secluded courtyard within the Marketplace.
"Big Brother, the target has appeared!"
The tall, thin man in black entered the courtyard and activated its sound-dampening Array.
He then spoke to an incredibly sturdy, nine-foot-tall, burly man with a thick, curly beard who was waiting inside.
