"No, we’ll update your information after the exam today, and you’ll be able to partake in Red Zone missions by tomorrow."

"Sounds good."

Yuan began making his way to the exit but was promptly stopped by a familiar voice.

"Wait a second, Corporal Yuan."

Yuan turned around to follow the sound of the voice.

"General Mei?" he muttered in a surprised tone.

"General Mei?!" The other soldiers hastily raised their arms to salute her after taking a moment to comprehend the situation.

"Follow me to my office. I’d like to have a word with you," she said to him.

"I understand."

Once Yuan followed Mei Feng to her office, she immediately asked him, "Tell me the truth. Did you already know Void Control before joining the military?"

"What makes you think that?"

Instead of directly answering her question, Yuan asked one of his own, a playful smile on his face.

Mei Feng sighed aloud before speaking, "Your expression confirms my suspicion. Where did you learn it? From your original world?"

Yuan nodded and answered truthfully, "That’s correct, but in my world, it’s called Void Manipulation."

Mei Feng rubbed her eyes and sighed again.

"What was the purpose of your performance today?"

"Well, it’d be odd for someone who just joined the military to know Void Control without doing proper training, right?"

"I mean, why’d you retake the test when your first one would’ve sufficed?"

"To put things simply... to raise my reputation."

"Even though pretty much everyone is already aware of your existence?"

"Not that sort of reputation. I want to reach a level where nobody will question anything that I do."

"That sounds like something someone with ulterior motives would say—a villain, so to speak."

Yuan chuckled at her words.

"What are you worried about?"

Mei Feng fell silent for a moment before responding, "To be perfectly honest, I suspected you might be a spy from another city. However, no spy would willingly draw this much attention to themselves."
