Dark Lord Seduction System: Taming Wives, Daughters, Aunts, and CEOs
Chapter 359 - 6th Of October: System Awakening CrisisChapter 359: 6th Of October: System Awakening Crisis
The gates of my mother’s mansion slid open with the false cheer of a guillotine dropping.
Tonight’s mission: survive Tommy’s nouveau-riche flexing without unleashing chaos on a certain someone. But the chaos inside wasn’t the champagne babble I’d banked on. It was a bomb mid-detonation.
Silence. Thick, suffocating, the kind that presses on your eardrums. Then, EMMA’S VOICE, raw, shredded: "YOU DON’T OWN ME! I’M NOT YOUR GODDAMN REHAB PROJECT, LINDA!"
We froze like ice statues. Mom stood rigid in the vast foyer, face drained to chalk-white, arms clamped around herself like she was hugging a live grenade. Tommy backed away, hands raised palms-out, approaching a snarling, wounded animal. Sarah clutched at Charlotte in the archway, eyes blown wide, a terrified spectator at a train wreck.
Emma spun, locking onto me. Her fury wasn’t just rage; it was warped, infused with betrayal and something... darker. "YOU! You think you can just fix everything, don’t you? YOU CAN’T FUCKING FIX THIS!"
I leaned against the doorframe, exhaustion warring with the reflex to do something. "Well," I sighed, watching Emma’s shrapnel fly. "Welcome to Wednesday. Where harem divorce angst meets suburban Armageddon."
The universe cackled. I glanced back at the car – Amanda and Soo-Jin’s faces pressed against tinted glass, distorted witnesses. Amanda’s face was tight with concern, but controlled.
Professional.
Like she was watching a medical emergency unfold and knew panic would only make things worse. When Soo-Jin started to reach for the door handle, Amanda caught her wrist and shook her head sharply. Not now. Not yet. Stay back.
Ms. Chen stood beside Tommy, her tiny hand swallowed in his, looking like a beautiful marble statue about to crack.
But the second my eyes landed on her... everything shifted.
The air rippled. Not like heat haze, but like reality itself was a pond someone’d dropped a boulder into. The towering marble columns... they bent. The walls stretched like taffy at the edges of my vision. Colors bled – crimson into emerald into impossible ultraviolet – then fractured into jagged shards.
