Sofia and Natasha moved at the same moment.
They did not retreat toward the others. They rushed directly at Dickoff from opposite sides before he could release the full power gathering beneath the mansion. Sofia approached from his left while Natasha attacked from his right. Their Half-God bodies pushed through the black pressure that filled the ruined hall, even as the force tore at their clothes and cut thin wounds across their skin.
Dickoff saw them coming and released the energy gathered around his arms.
A black wave exploded outward.
Sofia crossed both arms in front of her face and continued forward. The force pushed her boots through the floor, but it did not stop her. Natasha lowered her body and moved beneath the strongest part of the wave. Stone shattered around her legs as she crossed the remaining distance.
"You cannot hold me!" Dickoff shouted.
He swung his right fist toward Sofia.
She turned her shoulder and allowed the attack to pass beside her face. The black-covered knuckles still cut across her cheek, tearing open the skin, but she ignored the wound and caught his wrist with both hands.
Natasha reached him from the other side and grabbed his left arm.
Dickoff immediately tried to pull away.
The floor broke beneath all three of them.
His borrowed chaos energy remained far greater than the power of either woman, but Sofia and Natasha were not fighting separately. They moved together. When Dickoff pushed Sofia backward, Natasha pulled him in the opposite direction. When he turned toward Natasha, Sofia twisted his right arm behind his back.
Dickoff roared and forced more energy from the black seed.
The veins across his body thickened. The cracks in his skin widened. Black energy poured from them and struck both women at close range.
Sofia’s shoulder broke.
Natasha’s fingers were torn open.
Neither released him.
They had already understood Sekhmet’s order. They did not need to defeat Dickoff. They only needed to take him close enough for Sekhmet to remove him from the mansion.
Natasha wrapped both arms around Dickoff’s left side and lifted with her Half-God strength. Sofia pulled his right arm downward and forced his balance to break. Together, they dragged him one step toward Sekhmet.
Then another.
Dickoff struck Natasha with the back of his head. Blood burst from her nose, but she tightened her grip instead of moving away.
He kicked Sofia in the stomach.
Her body bent under the blow. Blood came from her mouth, but her claws remained buried in the stone-like armor around his wrist.
"You are prisoners!" Dickoff shouted. "Why are you protecting him?"
Sofia lifted her blood-covered face.
"Because we chose to."
Natasha forced Dickoff forward another step.
Sekhmet stood beside the wide entrance to the Void Land. The dark opening stretched across the broken wall behind him, large enough to swallow Dickoff and the energy covering his body. Cold air poured from it and fought against the burning chaos pressure inside the hall.
Dickoff finally understood what Sekhmet intended.
His expression changed.
"No."
He stopped trying to destroy the mansion.
All of his strength turned toward escape.
Black chaos energy erupted beneath his feet, driving his body backward. Sofia and Natasha were forced to slide with him, but they did not lose their holds. Their Half-God bodies absorbed the pressure while their wounds continued healing.
Sekhmet looked at the countdown.
[External Energy Remaining: 02:44]
"Move," he ordered.
Sofia released Dickoff’s wrist for half a second, struck the back of his elbow, and broke the mortal joint beneath the black armor. His right arm bent in the wrong direction.
Natasha swept his leg from under him.
Dickoff fell onto one knee.
Both women seized the opportunity. Sofia grabbed him beneath one arm. Natasha took the other side. They lifted him from the broken floor and rushed toward Sekhmet.
Dickoff struggled violently between them.
His feet struck the ground and tore long trenches through the stone. Black energy burst from his body repeatedly, breaking more of the hall with every attempt. Sofia’s ribs cracked. Natasha’s left arm nearly separated from her shoulder.
They continued forward.
The entrance to the Void Land was only a few steps away.
Dickoff looked into the darkness beyond it, and for the first time since receiving the borrowed power, true fear returned to his face.
He did not know what waited inside.
He did not know whether the black seed would continue working there.
He did not know whether he would ever find a way out without Sekhmet opening the entrance again.
"No!" he screamed. "Mihos will kill all of you!"
Sekhmet stood beside the opening and watched them drag Dickoff closer.
"You should worry about yourself."
Sofia and Natasha reached the entrance.
Dickoff planted both feet against the broken floor and released all the strength remaining in his legs. For one moment, the two women stopped.
Then Sekhmet raised one hand.
Blood rose from every wound on Dickoff’s body. It wrapped around his ankles, entered the cracks in his black armor, and pulled him toward the Void Land.
Sofia pushed.
Natasha pulled.
Dickoff lost his footing.
His body crossed the edge of the dark entrance.
The black energy surrounding him distorted when it touched the air of the Void Land, but it did not disappear. Dickoff shouted and reached toward the ruined hall with his one working arm.
His fingers closed around nothing.
Sofia and Natasha threw him through.
Dickoff vanished into the darkness.
Sekhmet looked at the countdown again.
[External Energy Remaining: 02:41]
Sofia and Natasha followed him through before he could recover. The moment both women crossed the entrance, Sekhmet closed the Void Land behind them. The dark opening folded inward and vanished from the ruined hall.
The pressure inside the mansion weakened immediately. Black lines still covered the floor, but without Dickoff feeding them, they stopped spreading. Broken stones continued falling from the ceiling while dust filled the air.
Sekhmet contacted Sofia through the blood connection.
"Keep him away from the prisoners and the growing territory. Hold him until the borrowed power disappears."
Her answer came immediately.
"We will not let him damage anything, my king."
