Death... and me

Chapter 4328: It’s Already There

Chapter 4328: It’s Already There

As they prepared to cross the defensive line, the arrays around the airplane finally activated completely. The light surrounding the metallic skeleton distorted and bent under the influence of the runes, causing the airplane’s appearance to rapidly shift. Its incomplete frame twisted visually as scales, wings, and a long serpentine body gradually materialized around it.

Soon, the ugly skeleton airplane had transformed into what appeared to be a quite big flying serpent, resembling one of the rarer flying Godly Creatures currently participating in the assault.

Naturally, the battalions stationed below had already received warnings about the disguised airplane. Detailed instructions were passed through the RC Network so the defending cultivators, spirits, demon beasts, and such would know how to identify the hidden airplane and avoid accidentally attacking their own Law Gods.

Finally, the airplane crossed through the aerial battlefield itself.

Flying cultivators and countless Godly Creatures filled the skies all around them, yet the disguised airplane simply ignored everything as it pressed deeper into enemy territory.

"Kentucky," Rean called while carefully controlling the unstable airplane. "Try to find the safest route possible. Avoid any large clusters of flying creatures. This thing has basically no usable maneuverability right now. It can barely turn without shaking itself."

"Leave it to me," Kentucky answered immediately.

He then reverted back into his true Minokawa form, although he deliberately restrained his size so he would not occupy too much space inside the cabin.

Fortunately, one advantage of the skeleton-like airplane structure was that there were gaps everywhere. Kentucky could easily peer outside through the exposed sections of the fuselage without obstruction.

Arcis also observed the surroundings carefully. As a Demon Bird himself, his eyesight was naturally extraordinary as well. In terms of pure visual capability, there was honestly not much difference between him and Kentucky.

Still, Arcis chose not to interfere.

Rean and Kentucky had worked together for countless years already. Kentucky understood exactly what Rean wanted and how he preferred to move far better than Arcis possibly could at the moment.

One minute after entering the Godly Creature Horde, the airplane continued flying steadily forward.

Soon enough, they arrived at the area where Kentucky previously discovered the Raven’s blood and feathers.

As for the countless Godly Creatures surrounding them on both the ground and in the skies...

None of them reacted.

Some creatures glanced toward the airplane briefly. A few flying beasts even approached fairly close before moving away again. Yet not a single one stopped to investigate or attack them.

The relief felt by the twins’ group was immense.

That was especially true because the airplane was flying directly against the flow of the Godly Creature Horde. While all the creatures moved toward the cultivators’ defensive lines, the disguised airplane was advancing deeper into their territory instead.

"Kentucky," Rean spoke again while continuing to pilot the airplane carefully. "Keep looking for any traces left behind by the injured Raven."

He then glanced toward Roan.

"Roan, where do you think it would have gone?"

Roan had his mind connected to his RC, analyzing the movements of the Godly Creature Horde together with the surrounding terrain maps being constantly updated through the battlefield network.

"Most likely Area T16R1," Roan answered after a moment. "There are several hills and cliffs in that region. It would be a good place for the Raven to temporarily hide and recover."

"Very well."

Rean immediately adjusted the airplane’s direction accordingly.

Naturally, there was a small lie hidden within that exchange.

The one truly searching for the Raven’s blood traces was not Kentucky at all.

Even with Kentucky’s eyesight, finding traces of blood amidst an endless sea of Godly Creatures would be extremely difficult.

Instead, the real person responsible for tracking those traces was Celis.

Among the entire group, Celis possessed the greatest sensitivity toward energy fluctuations. When it came specifically to sensing Godly Pressure, he was by far the most capable. As long as Rean flew sufficiently close to the ground, Celis could easily detect abnormalities and traces left behind by the injured Raven.

Once Celis found something, Kentucky simply voiced the discovery aloud instead.

"There!" Kentucky suddenly called out. "Three Godly Creatures are gathered around it. The Raven’s blood seems quite attractive to them."

The airplane quickly passed over the location.

From that point onward, the traces indeed became easier to follow.

Both Arcis and Tobao could not help but feel increasingly shocked by the entire situation unfolding around them.

They were literally flying in the middle of the Godly Creature Horde itself.

And yet not a single creature realized anything was wrong.

’The implications of this technology are enormous...’ Tobao thought inwardly.

As the airplane continued advancing toward Area T16R1 within Turanzo Country, Roan occasionally adjusted their course based on his deductions regarding the Raven’s likely movements.

Naturally, he was not always correct.

Several times, Rean had to circle back or alter directions after reaching dead ends.

Even so, Roan’s predictions proved accurate most of the time, drastically reducing the amount of territory they needed to search manually.

That alone already saved them an incredible amount of time and effort.

Meanwhile, Rean narrowed his eyes while observing the Godly Crystals powering the airplane.

"It really is far from complete," he muttered unhappily. "The energy efficiency is terrible. Not even thirty percent of the Godly Energy inside these crystals is being properly separated and utilized."

Kentucky immediately turned toward him.

"Do we even have enough crystals left?" he asked.

Rean shook his head. "Not many. We are currently using the crystals Celis gathered during the previous battles. Since he already handed most of them over to the cultivators in our battalion, we only kept a small reserve for ourselves."

He frowned afterward. "If we want enough energy to safely return, we will probably need to turn around soon."

The moment Tobao heard that, he immediately intervened.

"Godly Crystals?" he repeated before tossing a Spatial Ring directly toward Rean. "Here. Use these."

Rean caught the ring and checked its contents. Inside were over a thousand Godly Beast Crystals prepared and ready for use.

"This..." Rean was genuinely stunned by the sheer amount.

However, Tobao did not even give him the opportunity to hesitate. "Compared to what we may gain here, those crystals are insignificant," the monk declared firmly. "Use as many as necessary. I still possess more."

Rean certainly was not going to refuse.

Without delay, he immediately replaced the nearly depleted crystals powering the airplane with fresh ones from Tobao’s ring.

"That definitely helps a lot," Rean admitted.

Tobao then continued with another matter that had clearly been bothering him. "There is something else I would like to ask, Rean."

The monk’s expression became noticeably more serious. "Regardless of whether this prototype survives today or not, we cannot allow this project to disappear together with you if the situation turns bad. I understand you originally wanted to finish it completely before revealing everything to the region... but could you transmit the array blueprints to the Arrays Guild now?"

Rean blinked once before shrugging casually. "They already have them."

"...What?"

Rean pointed upward lazily. "The full project has been sitting in the Guild’s shared network this entire time. Anyone can access it freely. The problem is that I labeled it as a ’Godly Pressure Disguise Array Project.’"

He then laughed lightly. "I doubt anyone even bothered opening it."

Tobao and Arcis immediately froze. The next instant, both sent their consciousness directly into their RCs and accessed the Guild Network.

Sure enough...

The project was there.

Completely open.

Completely public.

Available for anyone to study, copy, or improve.

Unfortunately, the project statistics revealed something almost unbelievable.

The total number of accesses...

Was two!

And those two accesses belonged to Tobao and Arcis themselves, who had just opened it moments ago!

Nobody else in the entire Guild had even bothered checking the project until now.

"Unbelievable..." Tobao muttered. Then his expression darkened heavily. "What the hell is the Guild even doing?!"

Even as a monk, he could not suppress his irritation.

Rean immediately burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Don’t blame them, senior," he said while still piloting the airplane. "Just think about it. How many thousands of projects get submitted to the Guild Network every single day? It is only natural people ignored some random Anchor God’s strange experiment."

Tobao immediately began sending multiple urgent messages back toward the mainland branches through his RC, ordering the Guild to inspect and secure the project immediately.

However, before the discussion could continue any further, Roan suddenly interrupted everyone. "Enough." His voice immediately turned serious. "We’ve arrived in Area T16R1."

Instantly, Tobao withdrew his attention from the RC Network while both Law Gods’ expressions became grave once more.

Roan continued while observing the terrain ahead carefully. Celis, obviously, told them of the blood traces he was finding.

"Unless the Raven fled even farther away after being injured..." Roan narrowed his eyes. "...It should be hiding somewhere around this area."

Tobao and Arcis were ready to go. "Very well."
