Coyui once again turned to Rean and Roan. "I hope that makes even more obvious just how lucky you were when you managed to kill those guys. From what I’m hearing here, the experts from your regions aren’t anywhere as experienced or strong as those you will find here in Woster."
Everyone went silent, including Rean and Roan. None of them could deny the truth. They had already realized that Woster was fundamentally different from the regions they knew, but Coyui’s explanation made the difference even more apparent.
"Thank you for being honest with us, friend Coyui," Arcis quickly recovered. There was no point in denying the obvious. "If what you’ve told us is accurate, then Woster has been developing its cultivators under circumstances that we could never replicate in our regions. It would be foolish for us to underestimate them."
Roan then looked at Coyui. "There is one more thing I wish to ask. Those guys were after you. Not only that, but their companions also kept looking for you in this area for a very long time. Just what did you do to make them spend so much effort on you?"
Coyui was the one to go silent this time. His expression changed slightly, and for the first time since they had started questioning him, he seemed genuinely unwilling to continue the conversation. "I’m sorry, but this is something I’ll keep to myself."
Roan nodded slightly. "Everyone has their own secrets. So be it."
It would be a lie if anyone said they weren’t curious. Coyui’s reaction alone made it obvious that there was more to the story than he wanted to reveal. However, there was no reason for them to force the issue.
It was also a fact that no one in Woster knew the twins’ group connection with Coyui. Even if they went their separate ways later on, no one would be able to connect the twins’ group to Coyui anymore. That said, regardless of what Coyui did, that wouldn’t, or at least shouldn’t, be a problem for them. For now, what mattered was that he had helped them survive their first encounter with Woster’s cultivators.
—
Their training continued. Three months, six months, nine months... Time passed quietly inside the invisible airplane, with the group slowly adapting to the terrifying Godly Pressure surrounding them.
Finally, a year had passed since the twins’ group teleported to Woster.
They had seen many cultivators passing by the Ashen Hills during this time, but they never revealed themselves. Most of those cultivators were simply hunting for materials or heading toward the volcano, and none seemed particularly interested in the old ash-covered hills where their airplane remained concealed.
Surprisingly, they saw two Godly Creatures during this time as well. From the looks of it, those two had found their way through the cracks and managed to get this close to Dlaval City. They were probably among the few creatures that managed to slip through the constant hunting carried out by Woster’s cultivators.
Too bad for them that they never managed to really get to the city. Well, even if they had, what could they have done against a city with thousands of Law Gods anyway?
"Okay, this concludes my part of the deal," Coyui said to everyone inside the airplane. "One year has gone by, so it is time for you to let me leave. If there is any question remaining, say it now before you teleport me out."
Arcis nodded before getting up. "And I have no intention of going back on my word."
The one-year agreement had been simple from the beginning. Coyui would stay with them while they adapted to the Godly Pressure, and once a year had passed, they would use the teleport array to send him somewhere beyond Woster. There was no reason for Arcis to change the arrangement now. They had already gained far more information from Coyui than they could have hoped for when they first entered this place.
—
Arcis, as well as everyone else, finally managed to stay up inside that huge concentration of Godly Pressure without having to use every bit of their strength. They were still weakened a lot because of it. Nonetheless, they weren’t as helpless as they had been before.
By now, Arcis could show the strength of an Aura God at the Peak Stage, and so could Thery. It obviously was a very low bar considering they were both Middle Stage Law Gods. Still, compared to not being able to fight a single Anchor God when they arrived, that was a huge boost. At least they were no longer completely defenseless if something unexpected happened.
The same went for the other cultivators in the group. Everyone managed to recover some of their strength, although no one there could fight at the Zone God Level yet. They could move, fight, and circulate their energy, but the terrifying pressure still suppressed their strength to a level far below their actual cultivation.
Well... no one except the twins’ group or Lukay, who still had some of Roan’s pills. It was just that no one else knew about it. Rean and Roan had no intention of revealing that advantage, either. There was no reason to show the others how much stronger they could actually become inside Woster.
For Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky, they had gained enough immunity to fight enemies at the Aura God or Godly Beast Level again. It was just that they were strong enough to fight Zone Gods and Godly Predators before, so they obviously were also far away from their peak if compared to when they used the pills, arrays, or the sanctuary. Their improvement was significant, but they still had a very long way to go before the Godly Pressure stopped affecting them entirely.
Unfortunately, as Thery and Rean had predicted before, the more immunity they got against Godly Pressure, the slower their immunity increased. It was all about starting at the zero-kilometer mark in a hundred-kilometer marathon. The first part was relatively easy, but every additional stretch required more effort than the one before.
Now, they could be said to be somewhere around the twenty-kilometer mark after a year. If they wanted to reach the forty-kilometer mark, they likely would need three times as long or more, which meant another three years at the very least.
No one was disappointed, though. If anything, they were very happy with the results.
Why?
Because their immunity already had this effect against the Godly Pressure of Woster. Not even Godly Horrors got anywhere near as much Godly Pressure when they released it on purpose against cultivators. That meant their bodies were being exposed to a level of pressure that was practically impossible to reproduce under normal circumstances. If they could continue adapting at this rate, the benefits after leaving Woster would be enormous.
That said, the immunity would be much higher if they exited Woster and went back to Besgol. They would still be weakened to some degree, but it would be a lot less than before. Even if they couldn’t completely ignore the Godly Pressure yet, they had already reduced its effects to a level where they could once again display the strength expected from their cultivation realm.
—
Everyone gathered around the teleport array, and Thery fed it Godly Pearls again. He had quite a few with him exactly because his Natak Region knew he might need them. The array began to hum as spatial energy slowly gathered around its center, and everyone turned their attention toward Coyui.
"Last warning, Friend Coyui. You will be on your own once outside, and the Godly Creatures will close in on you sooner or later, especially since you don’t have an airplane. Are you sure you want to go out?"
Coyui was adamant. "I’m certain. Don’t worry, I have my ways. Even if I die, so be it. It is definitely better than staying here. Please, send me out."
He had spent an entire year waiting for this moment, so there was no hesitation in his answer. Whatever methods Coyui had planned to use after leaving, he obviously trusted them more than his chances of surviving inside Woster for decades with the group.
"Very well," Thery didn’t insist anymore. "Goodbye, friend Coyui."
The teleport array activated, and spatial power gathered around it. The runes lit up one after another, forming a stable spatial passage before the entire array suddenly erupted with light. Finally, a flash of silver light followed, and Coyui disappeared without a trace.
Seeing that, Kentucky couldn’t help but ask, "What stops him from destroying the array on the other side?"
"The arrays we prepared there," Rean answered with confidence. "We didn’t just make an array to prevent the Godly Creatures from getting close. We made a simple but very effective array to truly protect the teleport array. If he tries anything against it... Hehe!"
Thery, Flugel, Sison, and Haniala all nodded with smiles on their faces. They knew very well what they had built together. There was no need for anything complicated. A few well-placed arrays were enough to make sure the teleport array couldn’t simply be destroyed by someone the moment he arrived.
"In any case, as long as he simply leaves after getting there, he should be fine," Thery added. "We have no reason to interfere with him beyond that."
"Alright, then let’s go back to our own training," Arcis said.
No one complained, especially Celis. Their time with Coyui was over, and there was still much more for them to accomplish inside Woster. At their speed, just a few more years, and the twins’ group would accumulate enough Godly Energy to break through into the Peak Stage of the Aura God Realm. Of course, they had no intention of showing it to everyone else. When that time came, they would give some other excuse instead.
More importantly, the longer they stayed here, the greater the advantage their natural cultivation method would provide. They had an almost inexhaustible supply of Celestial Energy around them, an absurd amount of Godly Pressure, and enough Celestial Stones to sustain their cultivation for a very long time. Woster might be a prison to everyone else, but for the twins’ group, it had unexpectedly become one of the best cultivation environments they had ever encountered.
And so, with Coyui gone and the agreement fulfilled, they resumed their training.
