Slap!

Before Shen Yu’s hand could reach her wounds, Meilin slapped it away.

Her expression became increasingly strange.

"You..."

Her voice trembled.

"You aren’t Shen Yu, are you?"

Shen Yu frowned.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

"How could I not be?"

He looked at her coldly.

"Don’t you like me touching your wounds?"

Meilin’s pupils contracted.

"This detail..."

"Who else would know about it besides you and me?"

She stared at him.

Then her fingers slowly tightened around the dagger hidden in her hand.

"Don’t you want me to be rough?"

Shen Yu’s expression darkened.

"What’s wrong with you?"

But Meilin’s gaze had already turned cold.

"That’s right."

"According to my memories, I wanted Shen Yu to treat me this way."

She slowly raised the dagger.

"But if you were really Shen Yu..."

"There would be hesitation."

"There would be resistance on your face."

"That’s exactly why I liked him."

Her voice became increasingly certain.

"But you don’t have any hesitation."

"You are too straightforward."

"Too natural."

"You’re acting exactly like the Shen Yu I imagined."

She stared into his eyes.

"So you can’t be him."

Shen Yu’s expression changed.

"You..."

"Damn it."

Meilin’s breathing became heavier.

"Clearly, I was stripped from your memories."

"Yet I still can’t deceive you."

"Damn it."

"Damn it!"

"Damn it!"

A strange sound escaped her throat.

"Ha..."

"Ha ha..."

Shen Yu’s expression became increasingly uneasy.

White mist began pouring from Meilin’s mouth.

Her eyes slowly turned red.

Black veins bulged across her skin.

Her entire body began trembling violently.

It looked as though she were about to undergo a complete transformation into a corpse.

"You should just die here!"

Roar!

With a mouth full of saliva, the zombie Shen Yu suddenly lunged toward her.

Meilin’s face darkened.

She immediately thrust her dagger forward.

Clang!

The dagger plunged directly into Shen Yu’s mouth.

Its blade collided violently with his teeth.

But the force behind the zombie’s charge was tremendous.

Meilin was knocked backward several steps.

Clang!

The dagger slipped from her hand and fell onto the floor.

Zombie Shen Yu violently shook his head, hot breath pouring from his nostrils as he prepared to attack again.

"Damn it!"

Meilin quickly scrambled to her feet.

She turned and ran toward the dusk train.

"Damn it!"

"Is this really going to be the end?"

The live-stream comments erupted.

"Even if Meilin realized something was wrong, she can’t fight a zombie!"

"I didn’t expect someone could actually reason it out like this."

"The Shen Yu inside her memories would follow her expectations and touch her wounds."

"But the real Shen Yu wouldn’t behave like that."

"So she realized this Shen Yu isn’t the real one!"

"666!"

Another viewer immediately replied.

"Can it really be reasoned out like that?"

"It doesn’t matter whether she guessed correctly."

"Meilin can’t outrun a zombie."

"Wait..."

"What exactly is her talent?"

"Why isn’t she using it?"

Another viewer answered.

"Have you forgotten?"

"This entire level is constructed from fictional memories."

"How would she know what her own ability is?"

Just as the comments began filling with despair—

The electronic announcement suddenly sounded.

[The next stop is Dusk Station.]

[Expected departure time: 240 minutes later.]

Inside the dusk train, the loudspeaker repeated the announcement.

Menloa leaned against the window, constantly staring into the depths of the red mist.

Worry was written all over his face.

"Shen Yu..."

"Is he going to be okay?"

Meilin’s mother gently comforted him.

"Don’t panic."

"It’s very safe around here."

"They won’t be in trouble."

At the same time, she was tying Bill to a seat using strips of seatcloth.

Before long, Bill was wrapped up like a dumpling.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

A panicked figure suddenly flashed through the red mist.

Meilin!

"Damn it!"

Menloa immediately stood.

"Mom, take care of Meilin."

"I’ll be back soon."

"Hey!"

Before anyone could stop him—

Bang!

The train door opened.

Menloa rushed directly into the fog.

"Who?"

"Who?"

The terrifying roars of zombies echoed through the mist.

Then—

Boom!

Just as the zombie Shen Yu was about to catch Meilin, Menloa’s towering figure suddenly rushed forward.

He slammed into Shen Yu and knocked him to the ground.

Using his enormous body, Menloa pinned the zombie down.

"What the hell?"

"What happened to you, Shen Yu?"

"How did you become a zombie?"

"Damn it!"

Menloa stared down at the familiar face beneath him.

For a moment, he was completely stunned.

"Menloa!"

"Hold him down!"

Meilin’s voice suddenly came from behind.

She rushed out of the mist, retrieved the dagger, and drove it directly into Shen Yu’s forehead.

Thud!

The dagger sank into the center of his forehead.

It twisted once.

The struggling zombie suddenly trembled.

Then his head dropped.

His body went completely still.

Silence.

Menloa stared at Shen Yu’s lifeless body.

"What the hell..."

"Shen Yu..."

"Brother..."

"I’m sorry."

"I never expected..."

His eyes nearly filled with tears.

But Meilin calmly wiped the blood from her dagger.

She looked at him with faint disgust.

"Let’s go."

"This isn’t Shen Yu."

Menloa froze.

"What?"

"I think we need to find the real Shen Yu."

"Huh?"

"What do you mean?"

"Follow me."

"We’re going to the waiting hall."

Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.

Once again, the two arrived at the entrance of the waiting hall.

The moment Menloa heard the terrifying zombie roars coming from inside, he instinctively stepped backward.

"Meilin..."

"Wait for me."

But Meilin’s attitude was completely different this time.

She didn’t hesitate.

She ran directly inside.

"Meilin!"

"Wait for me!"

Menloa gritted his teeth and followed.

One moved quickly.

The other reluctantly followed behind.

As they entered the waiting hall, both of them suddenly froze.

Their eyes widened.

The enormous station was filled with LCD screens.

"Who?"

"Where are the zombies?"

The terrifying roars that had filled the station weren’t coming from actual zombies at all.

They were being played through the televisions.

The screens continuously displayed images of zombies, accompanied by prerecorded growls and occasional gunshots.

The entire apocalypse had been manufactured.

Meilin and Menloa stood there in stunned silence.

Then they looked ahead.

On the waiting seats sat Anlin, Matsumoto Kika, and Sandy.

All three were looking toward them with different expressions.

Menloa’s mouth fell open.

"What..."

"What is going on?"

Because their memories were still fictional, neither of them could understand what they were seeing.

Shen Yu smiled faintly.

He patted Sandy lightly, signaling her to leave him for the moment.

Then he walked toward the ticket machine.

"Take the transfer card."

"Then you’ll understand."

Menloa stared at him blankly.

"What transfer card?"

"Isn’t this the apocalypse?"

Meilin remained silent.

She simply stared at Shen Yu.

Then she stepped toward the ticket machine.

After standing there for a moment—

Ding!

A ticket suddenly appeared.

The moment Meilin took the transfer card, her mind cleared.

The fog surrounding her memories vanished.

Her eyes immediately turned toward Matsumoto Kika.

"So..."

"You weren’t affected at all?"

Matsumoto Kika giggled.

"Hehe."

"I didn’t expect you all to actually make it out."

Meilin narrowed her eyes.

"What about Bill?"

"Does he still have a chance?"

Matsumoto Kika smiled.

But Meilin didn’t bother continuing the conversation.

In her eyes, Matsumoto Kika was perhaps even more dangerous than Bill.

Bill had at least been trying to survive through the value system.

But Matsumoto Kika had retained her memories from the beginning.

And yet she hadn’t chosen to save anyone.

She had simply hidden herself and waited.

An extreme survivor.

Meilin silently cursed under her breath.

"So..."

"Everything was fake."

Menloa finally received his own transfer card.

He stared at Shen Yu in disbelief.

"How did you figure it out?"

Shen Yu raised the gloves on his hands.

"Call it foresight."

"But I still have no idea what awaits us at the next station."

He looked down at the transfer card.

Suddenly—

The time displayed on it flickered.

240 minutes.

Then—

5 minutes.

Shen Yu’s eyes narrowed.

At that exact moment, the station announcement sounded.

[The Dusk Train is about to depart for Dusk Station.]

[All passengers, please validate your tickets and board the train.]

The electronic voice echoed throughout the station.

Everyone immediately began moving toward the ticket inspection area.

Shen Yu paused for a moment.

He looked back toward the red mist.

Something about the train still bothered him.

At the same time...

Inside the train compartment—

Bill was still tightly bound like a dumpling.

His eyes were wide with disbelief.

Puff. Puff. Puff. Puff.

The women remaining inside the carriage suddenly began melting.

Their bodies collapsed.

Their flesh liquefied.

They gradually transformed into a strange metallic-colored liquid that flowed across the floor and seeped into the interior of the train.

Bill’s expression became terrified.

"What..."

"What is happening?"

At the same time, the LED screen inside the carriage began changing rapidly.

240 minutes.

120 minutes.

60 minutes.

The countdown accelerated faster and faster.

Then—

5 minutes.

[The train is about to depart.]

[The train is about to depart.]

A heavy electronic voice echoed throughout the carriage.

Bill’s face turned pale.

"Shit!"

"Isn’t this the end of the world?"

"What kind of train is this?"

"Damn it!"

"What are you going to do?"

But before he could finish—

The entire carriage suddenly became soft.

The walls began to ripple.

The floor twisted.

The metal interior warped like living flesh.

Then a wriggling, flesh-colored mass emerged behind Bill.

The door behind him transformed.

It became a gigantic dark-brown mouth.

Nearly two meters tall.

A pitch-black tongue slowly rolled out.

Then—

Whoosh!

The tongue wrapped around Bill’s body.

"Mmph!"

Bill’s eyes widened.

Before he could even scream—

Moom!

His entire body was dragged toward the enormous mouth.

Thud!

The giant mouth swallowed him whole.

A living human being disappeared instantly into the darkness.

The carriage trembled once.

Then everything gradually returned to normal.

The seats.

The walls.

The floor.

Everything looked exactly as it had before.

Except Bill was gone.

Completely and utterly dead.
