The companions transported to Yang Yu's side were all amateurs who didn't understand profound magic. Even if they knew the Count Blood had set up magic to prevent snooping, there wasn't any way to break it.
Fortunately, while there wasn't a person who understood magic, there was a spirit body that did.
Yang Yu took out a thin sheet of paper and opened it. A cyan mist wafted from the paper, transforming mid-air into a refined spirit steward.
Wang Wu Yidru's contracted spirit body, Nagasarro, bowed respectfully to Yang Yu, saying:
"Master Yang Yu, what is your command?"
Yang Yu originally intended to save Nagasarro as a trump card for the confrontation with Count Blood, but under the current circumstances, he could only have him act ahead of time:
"You once claimed that you are a somewhat famous magician. Can you sense the presence of magic beneath our feet?"
"Just a moment," Nagasarro replied gently and plunged into the ground. After a few minutes, he reappeared to report the situation to Yang Yu, "There is indeed a special barrier underground that prevents most surveillance magic. Since its structure is mostly based on black magic, spirits can't penetrate through it."
"Is there a way to detect inside the barrier?"
"Because the barrier primarily uses black magic as its framework, as long as someone who can wield Holy Light follows my instructions, they can break through," Nagasarro said confidently.
Everyone instinctively turned to Iyas, as she was the only one present who could use Holy Light.
Under pressure from the crowd, Iyas bravely accepted the task, stating she would fully cooperate with Nagasarro.
Nagasarro floated to the center of the hall, conjuring a purple magic wand. He drew a circle around himself, and blue stripes centered on him, weaving into a massive magic array.
Standing in the center of the magic array, Iyas operated the Holy Light as Nagasarro instructed, letting it blend into the magic array.
Suddenly, a haze descended in Iyas' mind, and countless floor tiles embossed with different patterns emerged.
To pass through the barrier, one must move these floor tiles with magic power and form a complete pattern.
The challenge lies in that the patterns on the tiles change over time, and the patterns needed for assembly also change.
Only someone extremely familiar with this magic can solve the restriction within the changeable timeframe and enter the barrier.
Nagasarro was immensely confident in his puzzle-solving skill, but assembling a complete pattern within a time limit without knowing what pattern others had set seemed impossible.
Slowly researching would only waste time, and Nagasarro could tell Yang Yu and the others were in a hurry, so he opted for a direct forceful approach.
If you don't know a safe's combination, then just break the safe!
Nagasarro dissolved several simple magic techniques in succession, moved the blacked squares, and assembled them into a gap with Holy Light assisting Iyas in the operation.
Detecting magic successfully passed through the gap, and Nagasarro helped Yang Yu and the others conduct a brief reconnaissance, finding the way to the underground:
"In the direction of twelve o'clock, at the end of the kitchen, is a staircase that's been blocked. I've dissolved the defensive magic there. Just apply strong force, and you can open the passage to the underground."
"Got it!"
Yang Yu quickly gathered his team and headed in the direction Nagasarro pointed out.
Activating the Reverse Wheel's active effect, Yang Yu instantly boosted his strength to 9999. With a punch, he shattered the massive boulder blocking the staircase. A long staircase appeared before Yang Yu and his team.
Clearing the rubble, lighting the torches, Yang Yu and the others hesitated no longer, charging forward with Slime and the team.
A haunting sinister aura rushed toward them; Yang Yu and the others faintly smelled a damp, putrid odor.
At the staircase's end, countless black cages appeared imprisoning numerous frail girls. Their faces were pale, feeble, and their feet seemed bitten by something, swollen and unable to stand.
Most of these girls curled in a corner of their cages, the faint light from Yang Yu and his team's lanterns brightening their dull eyes, gifting them a sliver of hope, which quickly vanished.
Yang Yu and the group walked briskly forward as several girls struggled, crawling on the ground, voicing attempts to desperately seek help or convey something to Yang Yu and the team.
Yang Yu scanned the surroundings briefly but did not tarry.
They didn't know what sort of magic Count Blood was preparing, but given the lengthy preparation, it certainly wasn't ordinary.
Nagasarro continuously urged by Yang Yu's ear: "I have never felt such magical fluctuations in my life, it's magic I have never seen. If you want to stop it, hurry – just follow the direction of the magic flow and you will reach it."
Just as Yang Yu passed all the cages and prepared to enter the second level, a man covered in black spurs blocked Yang Yu and his team's path, surprised by their appearance:
"Who are you? Why are you here?
Are you the intruders the Count speaks of?
It seems you are unlucky. I am the Prison Director here..."
Before spur-covered man's words were finished, Yang Yu launched his attack.
A crimson light imbued his palm, coating the sword blade with an orange glow. Yang Yu evaded the spur-covered man's spikes and delivered a strike to his chest, instantly knocking the Prison Director to the ground.
Afterward, Yang Yu stepped on him, furiously delivering additional blows, completely ending his life without a hint of pity.
Hearing the commotion, the girls in the cages all looked towards Yang Yu and his team's direction, only to see the light illuminating them slowly fade away, the man who had tormented them thoroughly perished.
Many gradually clasped their hands, silently praying their hero would return to rescue them.
Stopping Count Blood was urgent, and Yang Yu didn't have the time to save the girls abducted by Count Blood one by one. If he intended to save them, it would have to be after defeating Count Blood.
A layer of black cells appeared before Yang Yu and his team as they traversed the lengthy staircase.
This level detained those who rebelled against Count Blood.
They possessed numerous special abilities and considerable talent, thus being held here to reflect seriously. Once they understood and joined Count Blood's ranks, they naturally could escape.
Seeing Yang Yu and his team's arrival, the rebels' first reaction was that someone had broken into Count Blood's castle, hinting they might be rescued.
Dragging their heavy chains, people from different races uttered the same plea:
"Let me out, I don't want to stay in this damn dungeon any longer. I swear I'll tear that bastard to pieces!"
Yang Yu and the team chose to ignore these noises as well, continuing forward. The shouting seemed to witness the suddenly appearing light in the prison fade away, desperately pounding the cages, expressing their dissatisfaction.
