Less than a quarter of an hour later, Yu Zhiye heard his first ploom.

“Pit ahoy! We’ll steer around.”

After calling out, Yu Zhiye started casting his fishing line to the sides to find a way around.

Feeling how smooth their journey went so far, Jack couldn’t help but comment, “Well I’ll be damned. Steve, that’s a mighty fine radar you got there. We should’ve took you along sooner!”

“Umu! Umu!” The little goblin nomming on her breakfast apple completely agreed.

Yu Zhiye gave them a thumbs up. “And here I am.”

“Right you are! Bwahahaha!”

Knowing that their driver was trustworthy, Jack relaxed somewhat and started going over things he didn’t mention back when there were others around.

“Yesterday, the little missy and I finally hit level ten. We’ve unlocked that news feed you were talking about.”

Yu Zhiye nodded. “Cool. It’s interesting, right?”

“Fuuu!” Miss Highschooler pouted. “Big brother said there’ll be a big surprise, but isn’t it just a boring game chat?”

“Boring?” Jack chuckled. “Hey, I found it quite interesting.”

“Eih! How is it interesting? We can only watch but can’t do any chatting! That’s no fun la.”

“Aight, little missy’s got a point. An emerald per message is really…”

Yu Zhiye is glad he wasn’t the only one that found that price unfriendly for free speech.

But the key word: was.

An emerald per message? Four messages a day is no problem!

Of course, he wasn’t ready to waste that purchasing power anytime soon.

There’s nothing wrong with lurking in chat.

Fwip. The party found their way around the quicksand pit and the fishing line cast out straight again. The following topic was straightforward.

“Sheesh. Thought we had it bad enough, but seems like this world isn’t very friendly in general.”

“Just yesterday, some guy nicknamed Heavenly Marshal said he was stuck being a cultivation furnace for some demoness sect.”

“There’s also the self-proclaimed greatest pirate ever. His crew got on a pirate ship to set sail, only to get turned in by their new crewmates… who turned out to be under the Church of Storm’s navy.”

“Now they’re stuck in a slave encampment waiting to be deported to god knows where and was calling for fellow pirates to liberate the oppressed.”

This survival game was just starting, but the world out there was really colorful.

Compared to that, here…

“Fuuu?!”

Yu Zhiye and Jack glanced back, just to see Miss Highschooler landing face-flat in the sand.

“Pu! Puu!” Xiao Shuling hopped to her feet and glared at the culprit. “Fuu?! We already explored this route! Why is there still a chest tripping this miss?!”

Jack cracked up. “Bwahaha! Little missy really has amazing luck! This should be the third time, ain’t that right?”

“Stupid chest.” The pouting little goblin angrily kicked the chest’s corner, only to hurt her own little foot. “Fuuu! Uncle, big brother! The chest is bullying me!”

“Bwahaha! Sheesh, little missy. Why are you complaining? Others teams want to find em, but only found one! You’re really our little lucky charm! You should be proud!”

“Eih! Really?” Xiao Shuling’s mood flipped like a switch and she puffed her little chest. Praise me more.jpg!

After two men cheered the little girl up with sweet praise and head pats, they dug up the chest.

“Aight, go on, little missy. We’re counting on ya!”

“Aye, aye captain!”

Lucky hands blessed the treasure casket. Inside was a scroll, sticks, and a straw hat.

Jack took the scroll and unrolled it. “Well I’ll be damned. It’s a crafting table recipe. Just what we need.”

Xiao Shuling stared at the hat and compared it with her own. “Eih! This miss likes floppy better.”

Hence, Yu Zhiye shamelessly claimed the white-common-grade hat as his own.

“I’m now Monkey D. Stevie and I am the man that’ll become the Fishing King!”

“Ehhh?! Fishing king? What kind of lame pirate is that, big brother?”

“Bwahaha!”

After joking around a bit, the team continued on their way.

Another ten minutes or so, they reached the foot of the rocky mountains.

“Aight, let’s look for the crack we went in yesterday. Little missy, any clues?”

“Eih! This missy’s intuition says thataway!”

Miss Highschooler’s intuition was surprisingly accurate.

After a little bit of climbing, they soon stopped right outside a crevice that led down to an abyss that swallowed whatever light was spilling into it.

This was a place that was definitely impossible to explore without a light source of some sort.

Jack checked and found the mark they chinked in the wall. “Aight. The crack moved a bit higher, but this should be the spot.”

Yu Zhiye felt the darkness quite… ominous. “Where does this lead to?”

“Into a natural cave system. We scouted out some ways down here yesterday. There’s not much danger, aside from getting lost.”

“After doing a bit of mining, we didn’t go too deep because time was running out. But there should be better ores deeper in...”

Jack grinned. A stone ax appeared in one hand. A torch to light the way in the other.

“With this baby we got from the newbie welfare temple and the three of us working together, I think we should be able to go deeper today… Steve, ya ready?”

Yu Zhiye equipped a stone ax and nodded. “Ready when you are.”

“Little missy?”

The second torch bearer did a little salute. “Aye, aye, captain!”

“Aight, then I’ll take point. Little missy in the middle. Steve, cover our backs?”

“I’m cool.”

A little goblin pouted, but didn’t reject the arrangement.

Once everybody gave the green light, the party of explorers filed into the mountain’s gaping maw.

A new adventure begins. With it came treasures, profit and possibly… danger.

But it’s his first real adventure in this world. Yu Zhiye felt he wouldn’t be that unlucky, right?

After all, it’s just a little adventure. What can possibly go wrong?
