Just when everybody thought the explosion was about to go off, an arrow came out from nowhere and nailed the imploding creeper’s face to the wall!
Thump! The arrow completely penetrated the eye socket and even through the skull!
Black blood seeped out like tears and the creeper started deflating like a punctured airbag…
Even so, that creepy smile still dominated its face and it let out a final evil cackle: “Jiejiejie~ we will… be… back...”
Sssss~ The deflated head finally drooped and black blood poured out from the gaping maws…
A black puddle pooled below, melting the floor like acid and evaporating into black mist...
Soon, all that was left behind was a piece of human skin and a few XP orbs that were like chicken ribs for a beggar.
The monster was dead just like that, but everybody stared at the pothole corroded in the store’s floor with ugly faces.
If that thing exploded here… perhaps even the wall would’ve been melted into slag, let alone them!
Once the base’s wall was lost, even if they survived somehow, night will become another death fest!
To think such a monster existed and actually got that close to them!
“Madaraka! Fack this world! And fack this Han dog! Why he gotta come haunt us even after death!”
Park Insu’s cursing ignited the powder keg and the other two finally reacted.
Chae Yoona’s face had gone pale, but surprisingly, she didn’t collapse on the spot.
After retreating to a safe distant, she even took the chance to look around the store.
Those with scheming minds tend to think more.
What was more terrifying? A weird monster that can play among us? Or... the hunter that slayed the monster in a single shot?
And she wasn’t the only one who cared about this.
Kwan Minhwoo felt almost the same. He even gathered the courage to get closer to study the corpse.
A hand—gloved in a plastic chips bag—reached out to pull aside the human skin and he got a look at the arrow embedded in the hard wall.
Based on the cracks made, the force definitely exceeded what trained elites could do!
Even more intriguing? How did the arrow ignore the indestructible property of the store and cause actual damage?
There must be a secret involved here.
Unfortunately, even if he wanted to conduct an interrogation, the suspect involved was nowhere to be found!
Kwan Minhwoo’s gaze locked onto a certain part of the store and frowned.
He was absolutely certain the arrow came from that spot, but at the same time, he was absolutely sure there was nobody standing there this entire time!
How was that possible? Was it an invisibility potion? Or a concealment skill of some sort?
Such a power was extremely terrifying!
A grim reaper in the dark that can take their lives at any time. How could anybody rest easy?
Too bad there’s not much that could be done… for now.
Kwan Minhwoo bowed his head and the eyes hidden behind his glasses flashed with a dangerous light.
Looks like he must become more active in his search for the key props to activate his power.
Where can he obtain what’s needed? Perhaps those from the other base might have them?
“Oi, four-eyes, why you standing there like a block of wood? Did you find anything?”
Seeing there’s nothing wrong, Park Insu came closer and aggressively searched the human skin.
Except for some scattered black powder, there was nothing else interesting.
“Madaraka! Even in death, he’s a poor ghost. Ptui!”
After spitting on the dead, Park Insu tried to pull the arrow out as a keepsake, only to snap the shaft off by accident.
The head stayed stuck. Now, even if pulled out, it’s pretty much useless.
“Cheap junk.” Park Insu threw the broken shaft aside and stared at the human skin hanging there.
He wanted to tear that creepy shit down, but… let’s leave something for the baldie to do.
“What now, four-eyes? Don’t tell me we’re gonna stare at this dead skin all day?”
Kwan Minhwoo adjusted his glasses and smoothly took command.
“Mr. Park, you know we couldn’t afford much water after investing in our tools. It’s best if we don’t miss the trading time.”
“Otherwise, we won’t have much water left for the next week. To avoid running late, it’ll be a big help if you can go find Brother Tae in the village. On the double.”
“Hurhur.” Park Insu didn’t look happy about getting sent on an errand, but considering that he was back to square one, he didn’t argue and simply went.
Kwan Minhwoo didn’t stay either. “Miss Yoona, if you need some psychological counseling, you can come talk to me anytime.”
After a nod to the pale-faced beauty, he left to have a good talk with the coward in his hiding place.
Left behind all alone, Chae Yoona sneered and put away her panic. She then boldly strutted up to the human skin artwork, tracing the hidden stitches with a finger.
“Sah… I wonder if he’ll find this interesting?”
That’s unknown, but her red specter heart seemed to be beating more excitedly after accidentally breathing in the unknown black gas that spilled out from this dead creature.
Now… that was interesting, was it not?
