Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Nathan Sheldon had been silent all along, but upon hearing this, he quickly said, "I’ll just go help Uncle. I don’t need to be the vice president. Plus, I can’t handle everything on behalf of Dad."
"But your father and I need to take your sister abroad for medical treatment," Autumn Stetford said hesitantly. "Handling work during that time would be inconvenient. Besides, your uncle is not closely related to our family. Do you feel comfortable letting him make all the decisions while your father is out of the country?"
"There’s nothing inconvenient about it. In the internet age, you don’t need to sit in an office to work," Nathan replied dismissively. "Dad isn’t retiring. And though Uncle is a distant relative, we’ve always treated him like a close uncle since we were young. There’s no such thing as distant relatives if you keep in touch frequently."
Autumn glanced at him, then turned to Aiden Sheldon, but Aiden also remained silent, so she relented and said lightly, "I’m just doing everything for the family. If you all think it’s okay, then I have no issues."
She then lowered her head and gently squeezed Ruby Sheldon’s hand.
Ruby took the hint, grabbed Aiden’s arm and whined, "Daddy, can we go to Grandpa’s tomorrow? I don’t want to stay here for another day..."
Aiden had planned to prepare a bit more before going abroad, but seeing Ruby’s pale face and weak demeanor, he couldn’t help but nod, "Alright, we’ll take the private jet first thing in the morning."
"Great! Thank you, Daddy!" Ruby buried her head in Aiden’s embrace, suddenly in high spirits.
...
Lawrence Winters rode Mrs. Foster’s car back to her residential area.
She didn’t let Mrs. Foster’s car drive in, so they stopped at the entrance of the complex.
On the way, Kenneth Osborne had sent her several messages, asking when she would be home.
She kept saying soon.
"Lawrence, are you sure you don’t need us to drive in? It’s a bit of a walk from here to your place, isn’t it?" Mrs. Foster looked at the gate of the complex.
"No worries, it’s very safe here." Lawrence smiled, brushing her hair back, "Aren’t you familiar with my skills? If there are any bad guys, they should be worried, not me."
"You silly child..." Mrs. Foster shook her head with a smile.
Edward Foster got out from the front seat and said, "I’ll walk her inside, so you can rest assured."
"Go on, I’ll wait here for you." Mrs. Foster mentally gave her son a thumbs-up.
It showed he genuinely cared, even knowing how to take care of the young lady.
Lawrence had quite the thrilling experience tonight.
In one hand, she held her purse, and in the other, she carried a Dior shopping bag, which contained the casual clothes she wore before buying new ones.
She was still wearing a vintage dress.
Under the gentle moonlight, her figure was even more attractive than during the day, as if mist surrounded her, exuding an ethereal aura.
Edward cast an admiring glance at her as they walked together into the complex.
His hand was initially in his pocket, but he later freed one hand to carry the shopping bag for Lawrence. The other hand dangled by his side, occasionally reaching sideways, attempting to hold Lawrence’s hand.
Lawrence didn’t notice at all, so she didn’t respond.
After a few failed attempts, Edward gave up.
"Lawrence, I had a great evening," Edward said with a smile as they reached the entrance of her building. "I won’t go up with you. You can head back on your own."
He handed the shopping bag back to Lawrence.
Lawrence nodded, smiling, "Thank you, Mr. Foster. I’ll head up now; you should get back too. Mrs. Foster must be getting impatient in the car."
"No need to hurry, you go ahead. I’ll wait here for you to go in, then head off myself," Edward said, glancing sideways and noticing someone stopping under the tree-lined path. He deliberately stepped forward to hug Lawrence, saying, "Good night."
Lawrence: "..."
She tugged at the corners of her mouth, pushed Edward away with a smile, and said, "Mr. Foster, there’s no need for such a grand gesture. You may take your leave."
"Oh, you do sound quite imperial," Edward laughed, shaking his head, pointing a finger at her before turning to leave.
After walking a short distance, he suddenly looked back and indeed saw a tall figure entering the lobby of the building.
If he saw correctly, that was Kenneth Osborne.
He chuckled softly to himself...
Edward was feeling increasingly good.
...
Lawrence entered the lobby and had just stepped into the elevator when she suddenly heard Kenneth Osborne’s voice saying, "Hold on."
Greatly surprised, Lawrence quickly held the elevator door.
Kenneth stepped in soon after, his face quite grim.
Lawrence: "..."
