Sun Duoxiang looked at the tense atmosphere and also adjusted the weapon in his hand.
As each second ticked by, Coret still hadn’t returned, and his subordinates became increasingly uneasy, whispering softly among themselves.
"Why hasn’t Lord Coret come back yet."
"I don’t know, could something have happened to him."
"Don’t say that, the boss is very strong."
...
At this moment, the eyes of Attic, Adomo, and Kathuler all turned to Su Mo, their expressions constantly shifting.
Su Mo sat in the chair nonchalantly, ignoring their gazes.
Sun Duoxiang also sensed something amiss and whispered to Su Mo.
"Boss, why haven’t we seen Coret?"
"He’s being chased by a monster."
Su Mo replied in a low voice.
Upon hearing Su Mo’s words, Sun Duoxiang’s eyes lit up, and he couldn’t help but speak excitedly.
"That’s great."
During the standoff, Sun Duoxiang naturally also realized that Coret was the strongest among them; if he was taken down, it would be a great relief.
At this moment, Attic suddenly sneered and spoke.
"Nice move, Su Mo. I remember that Star-Devouring Beast was originally chasing you, right? You passed the buck well."
Su Mo ignored Attic, directly dismissing his words.
However, Coret’s subordinates, including Balken, suddenly changed their expressions, angrily glaring at Su Mo.
They hadn’t expected that Su Mo, who always seemed so low-key, would be so ruthless and calculating, managing to trick their lord.
For a moment, they found it hard to accept, and a few of Coret’s subordinates wanted to erupt, but were held back by Balken.
Balken shook his head slightly, signaling his companions to not act impulsively. He knew Su Mo’s strength better than anyone, having been beaten miserably during rehabilitation training.
So those few subordinates could only suppress their anger.
In contrast, Sun Duoxiang and the others were all smiles, finally able to release some of their pent-up frustration from the past few days.
It’s important to know that Coret had been quite arrogant previously, relying on his numbers.
At this moment, footsteps could be heard approaching.
Everyone turned to look and saw Coret walking over with a somber face, looking a bit disheveled.
"Boss!"
Balken and the others were very excited to see Coret return, finally able to relax their tense hearts.
Su Mo was also quite surprised upon seeing Coret’s return. This guy had managed to shake off Glanger so quickly; his strength was truly formidable.
Considering how fast Glanger was, escaping one-on-one was already a miracle, let alone doing it so quickly.
Coret sat directly in his place with a grim expression.
Balken and others were about to ask something, but Coret stopped them by raising his hand.
Then Coret looked at Su Mo with a gloomy gaze.
Su Mo fearlessly met his gaze, already prepared for a showdown.
Unexpectedly, Coret just looked at Su Mo for a moment, then shifted his gaze away, as if nothing had happened.
This unusual behavior made Su Mo’s heart sink.
If Coret had lost his temper and started shouting, or even directly resorted to violence,
Su Mo would have thought Coret’s threat was limited, but he didn’t; he chose to endure.
This made Su Mo feel very troubled; now he saw Coret as a dangerous snake.
He quietly raised the danger level of Coret in his mind.
Soon after, Su Mo glanced at Sun Duoxiang and asked in a low voice: "Everything’s fine here when we deploy, right?"
"No issues. Apart from Butler Anason and the doctor, no one has entered or exited this room."
Sun Duoxiang quickly replied in a low voice.
Su Mo nodded slightly upon hearing this.
Sun Duoxiang was about to ask Su Mo something but felt it might not be appropriate, so he raised his electronic bracelet and sent Su Mo a message.
"Boss, staying like this won’t help us."
"Of course, I know it’s not optimal, but I don’t have a good solution right now."
Su Mo responded to Sun Duoxiang with a message.
"Kendi sent me a message just now. Many of Coret’s subordinates are quite restless; a lot of them are watching our people, and they’ve occupied some of the key areas of the Catastrophe Shadow."
Sun Duoxiang sent Su Mo a message with some concern.
"It doesn’t matter, just ignore them and keep watch here."
Su Mo replied with a slight shift in his gaze.
Sun Duoxiang saw Su Mo’s message and refrained from asking further questions.
It wasn’t that Su Mo didn’t want to counter Coret’s little tricks, but rather that he wasn’t too familiar with the environment and didn’t have enough manpower.
But it didn’t matter; as long as he guarded this place, the rest wouldn’t cause much trouble no matter what they tried.
And so, Su Mo and his four companions began a new round of standoff.
Time flew by quickly, and in the blink of an eye, three more days had passed.
Su Mo and his companions still sat there, in a standoff, with neither side giving an inch.
At this moment, the door opened.
Anason, Rohar, and an assistant stepped out.
Su Mo and the others immediately focused all their attention on Dr. Rohar, standing up to ask questions.
"How is the lord?"
"He’s not awake yet, needs more time to rest and be observed."
Rohar shook his head in response.
Upon hearing this, Su Mo was somewhat disappointed and sat back down in the chair.
